Me and my husband came here to dine. My husband has chicken biscuit with over medium egg, with potato fries. I tasted it and it was awful. The egg wasn't even over medium, it was well done and slightly burnt, so was the potato fries. I had the huddle Burger I believe, with loaded potato's. The hamburgers was a small size patty that was burnt. You couldn't even tell if there was a second patty. The loaded potato was horrible, I was expecting it to be baked but theyve microwaved it. Also, the sour cream I had was horrible, didn't taste right. The other waiter who was putting tomato, lettuce and picked for hamburgers didn't use gloves when she was touching . Also forgotten we shared chilli, it was decent. It was slightly salty but was eatable , that was the only food we enjoyed eating. The staff was okay. But we won't be back, if we do, we'll just go to subway. Edit: before we ordered our food, because one of the waiter was helping another customer since they were taken it out. He checked his receipt before purchasing it and they've gotten it wrong. He ordered a grilled chicken club sandwich, and they put crispy chicken sandwich instead, so, she asked the cooks to cook him a grilled chicken that he'd asked for, instead he decided he doesn't want it. The waiter gave them a slight attitude about it. They didn't refill our drinks, when we were finished. When they finally did, it was a midway between eating our food. They have the Huddle House located inside the Flying J Truck stop. Similar to a Pilot Store maybe one in the same. OK with all that said The Huddle House is pretty good for a quick inexpensive meal. The chili is OK and so are the Chile Fries. I'm go int to go light on the cheese sauce next time i get the Chili Cheese fries. The deserts are OK. We had the Cheese cake and my grandson had the Key Lime pie, and other Grandson had a chocolate some kinda shake. So far i can't complain. The Chicken Fried steak is pretty good. The sausage gravy and biscuits are real good. Breakfast as a whole is fine with the usual fare. Hash browns, bacon and sausage are also pretty good. Here you get what you see and no surprises. This is a new location so everyone in the New Haven area have another option to get gas, grab a snack or a meal or browse the grocery section and what not stuff featuring Tech and Electronics options and accessories. First and last time here! Waitress was very sweet but overwhelmed. Food was horrible! Cook made our food but then realized they were out of gravy. He wanted to let our food sit 10-15 minutes while they warm up gravy. When the food came out, one was wrong and had to go back. The chicken was so over done that it tasted like leather and tough, you could taste the food it was cooked with and over all did not taste good at all. While they remade the other food you could hear the waitress and cook argue about making fresh sides to go with the remake. So he remade the sides complaining the whole time and let the chopped steak ( nothing but a hamburger ) sit for 3 min and then didnt even give the full side. Well where to start. I walked in and was told it was a 15-25 minute wait. I've been seated an hour and have been given a menu and a cup of coffee which has long been gone. Still waiting for my order to be taken. The 1 and only waitress on staff has walked past me no less than 20 times. Maybe if I take off my invisibility cloak she'll realize I'm still waiting to order. Upon getting there, waitress said manager didn't leave a badge, so did not get the discount, and still had to ask for the drink. They would not honor my rewards card, so missed on that as well. I heard of this place from my boss, who highly recommended it, but I was hesitant in trying it after reading the yelp reviews. We came here on a Tuesday evening. The inside looks to be a typical truck stop restaurant and overall was clean. We were waited on shortly after choosing our seats, and I noticed that everyone that came in was also waited on quickly. Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job. When the food came out, I was a little apprehensive about trying it. The hamburger looked burnt and the fries looked old, but neither was the case. I guess that's why i was not pleased that not only did it take so long to get to place our order....or get our order..but that when my sisters hash browns were wrong it was so far after we got the meal that she had finished everything else and so it was too late really to even bother to make it right. This place gets one star because I can't go any lower. I can't comment on their food because I never actually got to eat. Took over 5 minutes for anyone to even bother to ask if I'd been waited on. Another 5 minutes waiting for my drink and ask if I was ready to order. I pointed out that I hadn't been given a menu and that was when the lazy waitress said they were on the tables and counters even though it would be obvious to a blind man that I would have had to reach across someone else's plate to get one on either side of me. Okay, I get that this is in a truck stop so my expectations aren't sky high but homie... No. It took us 32 minutes to get a blt and a house salad (there are three other tables seated and one is a man just drinking coffee) the blt is about what I would expect from a $4 something sandwich. One piece of lettuce, two pieces of bacon, a slice of tomato on toasted wonder bread. The salad came with those packets of dressing that you get when you buy a salad pouch at the grocery store and the waitress forgot silverware... it took her 3 minutes to come back with some. The table next to us ordered an ice cream sundae and the waitress brought it to them and said "sorry but we're out of cherries and our whipped cream was a little runny so we just gave you the chocolate sauce" that quote basically summed up our whole experience. The food quality was good, and price was at top of range. The waitress', Cathy and other blond lady, were wonderful. The kitchen is obviously either untrained or new. When they first opened the food was good. You got your food piping hot. The last 3 times I have been there they have SUCKED!!!!! this last time I went on my mothers Birthday. We went around 3:30 am there was 7 of us. There was 1 other table and I think 2 people at the bar. We ordered our food together. My parents got there food at 20 minutes after we ALL ordered. Then the rest of us had to wait An extra 15 minutes to get our food after them.
