I headed over to the Marina Kitchen only to find out they relocated to a ballroom style eatery. It had no life in it and no bar like the older one did. So I headed over to Hudson and Nash on a recommendation from someone who also just left the Marriot -lol Once in the hotel there could be better signage on where its located. I ended up going upstairs and thought it was another place that is only a bar that opens much later. I head back downstairs and find its tucked in a corner at the end. Its actually a really decent location. I head to the bar and i'm the only one there. I asked the bartender ahead how much a Cadillac marg will be, some places inside hotels charge a ton for them. He quotes around $35+ so I just stick with a Skinny Margarita with OJ. They use a Jose Cuervo Tradicional blanco which is not bad for a skinny marg. I've seen places try to use well tequlias for those. It was a very decent skinny marg. Cant complain at all. Very refreshing and tasty. I would recommend this place to anyone searching for a nice place to eat and get a drink. just be warned about the higher prices for hotels which is normal. My drink was $21 with a 5 percent surcharge added. Bartender and employees were very friendly!

We came here due the location being near the Rady shell. I like the outside patio because it's quiet and has a decent view. Service was good and food tasted good. We had to wait about 10 minutes for our table though even the ugh there were lots of tables available.

Great hotel restaurant. The asparagus and prosciutto app might be one of the best apps I've ever had! It's on ground level of the Hilton. The waitress and food runners were friendly and the wait time for food was good. I liked the seabass flavor a lot but the skin was chewy and leathery vs crispy so i needed to use a knife to cut the fish into bite sized pieces. Despite the skin, I would eat there again.

Came here on a weekend of a huge event at the convention center so the menu was themed like the event. Bts seating or tables available with televisions of sports games. Very clean place. Friendly staff. I ordered the Turkey sandwich with bacon and avocado served on sourdough. The bacon was thick and juicy. Lots of avocado too. Pretty delicious sandwich.

Hudson & Nash is the restaurant inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, on the concourse level. It's large and spacious with plenty of indoor, some outdoor, and bar seating. They have happy hour from 8-10pm each night. We came here two nights in a row during happy hour, but our experiences were very different each night. The first evening, we sat at a table all the way in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress was pretty nice and let us know certain dishes were half off for happy hour. We ordered the tuna poke and calamari fritti, and a beer. Tuna poke was really good and came with black sesame rice chips. The calamari wasn't that good. The fried batter wasn't crispy enough and the texture of the squid was not good either. The next day, we sat at the bar and ordered the tuna poke again. The service was not good. We waited a long time to order, get food, etc. Furthermore, the bartender told us the happy hour poke was $15, not half off. I wasn't too pleased with the inconsistent information and inconsistent charging, especially since we came and had the exact same thing the day before and still had the receipt with proof. For some reason, the second night's tuna poke wasn't as good as the first's. The second night's service was by far lacking compared to the first's. We only got one giant rice crisp on day two instead of many the first night. If you are staying at the hotel, the restaurant is convenient.

Second time back, this is our go to restaurant on the Hilton Bayfront property. The service was a little slow this time, probably because we were close to the 4pm check in rush. Once we flagged our server down and placed our order, everything came out quickly. Lobster roll was juicy and succulent, and the fries were nicely seasoned. The fish and chips was also tasty. This place overlooks the water so it's a nice day, on a sunny day they have outdoor seating for even better vibes

Stayed at the Hilton Bayfront over Memorial Day weekend and dined at Hudson & Nash with our daily food credit. We came at about 3:30PM. They weren't too busy, but service was meh. We got seated towards the back of the restaurant facing the ocean. We waited about 10-15 minutes after being seated but no one came to help us. We enjoyed the view while we waited, but we had to flag down a waiter to get waters, and to place our orders. After we placed our order, the food and drinks came out relatively quickly. 10/10 to the bartender who made my old fashion drink. It was solid. I had the lobster roll while my bf enjoyed the fish and chips. I'd say it was pretty tasty overall. A star off because not only was the service meh, but our server also added an item to our bill that we didn't order. We brought it to his attention and he apologized and fixed it, but yeah, check your bill people or you may be overcharged.

Great location right near the water. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Good service. Clean restaurant. Located downstairs in the Hilton Bayside. The food was overall ok, some were better than other. The bayside bene was good but they accidentally wrote the wrong order for the protein so they gave us a nice salmon rose free of charge to compensate. We also ordered the waffle sammie which left more to be desired. Portion size was kind of meh and the waffle itself wasn't the best. The picture of the food is a combined plate with both entrees.

Perfect place for networking events we the restaurant is so big and the patio is huge and a variety of seating. I have been a few times with catered food that is always good and appreciated. Nice wine and beer bar specially for the latest networking event. Pleasant atmosphere and food comfortable seating. This restaurant is mostly frequented by congress goers.

Excellent views and a good server made for a pleasant visit. One of the staff members at the front counter was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, but the other was quite rude, which took away from the overall experience. The food was mediocre. We ordered the calamari, smash burger, tacos, and kids' spaghetti. The calamari was the biggest disappointment. It had far too much breading, and some of the batter was undercooked and doughy. It was an easy pass. The rest of the food was decent but nothing memorable.

My boyfriend and I visited for lunch as their breakfast service was ending. We opted for takeout since we weren't sure about parking. It's located on the first floor at waterfront side in the Hilton Bayfront hotel on Park Blvd just outside of Gaslamp. As mentioned, we didn't know where to park but there most likely is a parking area for customers who are not staying at the Hilton. My boyfriend and I ordered their Orecchiette Pasta and Chermoula Chicken. The food smelled amazing on the drive home. The pasta dish was just okay. It had a lot of pasta with only a small amount of vegetables and scattered sausages. There was a nice, subtle spicy kick in the sauce. The chicken, on the other hand, was nicely seasoned with a lot of flavor, but it had some pink areas, so we heated it up just in case. The figs and vegetables were very good. There was a side of "soup" that came with the chicken meal, I believe. It was very flavorful and good, but I started to wonder if it was meant to be a sauce for the chicken because it was kind of thick... We tried it with the chicken and was thoroughly surprised by how much of a difference it made with and without that "sauce". The takeout container for the pasta almost broke in half when we arrived home because the sauce soaked through. This dish should have been packaged in two containers but thankfully, this dish was on top of the chicken entrée. Overall, the food was relatively good especially the chicken dish. Would love to come back to try their other chicken dishes when the menu changes if they're all this flavorful. Just hope that the chicken would be fully cooked without the residual pinkness. We should have also read the signs about the automatic 20% gratuity before ordering takeout. It would have been a better experience dining in as we're already charged the gratuity. P.S. There is a 5% service charge + 20% mandatory gratuity. Even with takeout orders, there is an automatic 20% gratuity added which is kind of crazy in my opinion. We failed to see this when entering.

Hudson & Nash is conveniently located inside the Hilton, which makes it an easy option if you're staying at the hotel or nearby. The service was fine and the space itself is pleasant enough, but overall the food was pretty mediocre -- nothing terrible, just not memorable or worth going out of your way for. One thing that really threw me off was the number of birds flying inside and landing on tables. I actually like birds, but seeing them around where people are eating made me uncomfortable, especially from a hygiene standpoint. It honestly distracted from the experience and made it hard to fully enjoy the meal.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and my first time dining at this restaurant, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The food was average, the service was average, and the staff at the counter were unfriendly. Overall, it did not justify the price. Based on this experience, I would not consider returning or spending my money here again in the future.

If you're not a regular, be careful, because apparently all it takes is one drunk friend of the staff making up a story to get you kicked out. While visiting San Diego with friends, we came here after hearing so many great things. There was a short wait, which was fine. The four of us were seated at a small standing table, also fine. Behind us were two guys drinking at the standing bar. One of them bumped into my friend and then stroked her arm while apologizing. She was visibly uncomfortable, so I told her to switch places with me. The guy immediately said, "We're gay, so you don't have to worry," then turned to his friend and said, "Now he looks so stupid and embarrassing." I told him, "I don't think it's embarrassing to make sure your friends are comfortable," then turned back around. I didn't argue with him, insult him, or continue the conversation. I thought that was the end of it. A few minutes later, the manager came over and told us we had made comments that made other patrons uncomfortable and asked us to leave. We had already paid for our drinks and were still waiting for them. My friend followed the manager to ask what was going on, and I joined shortly after. The person complaining was, of course, the same guy who had bumped into her. He was clearly drunk and started rambling about how we had made homophobic comments toward him and his friend. This was especially ridiculous considering the friend I switched places with was there with her girlfriend. We calmly explained exactly what happened. The manager did not care. There was no real attempt to hear our side, ask questions, or figure out what actually happened. The decision had clearly already been made. While we were speaking to the manager, the guy who complained was cheerfully talking with one of the bartenders, receiving a to-go meal, and greeting them cheek to cheek. He very obviously appeared to know the staff. So that seems to be how things work here: a drunk regular or friend of the staff can make up whatever story he wants, and management will throw out an entire group of paying customers without even pretending to investigate. They refunded the drinks, which was the bare minimum. The ambience was nice, but that means absolutely nothing when the staff handles customers this poorly. Awful management, blatant favoritism, and easily the worst service I have ever experienced. I would never come back, and I would strongly warn anyone who isn't already friends with the staff to stay away.

Staff was also not very attentive to guests' needs, rather just going through the motions. For instance, they noted "standing room only" and that they would eventually seat our party of two. They walked us to an exact spot on the floor to stand and view the menu in the dark (we used our phone flashlights, but it wasn't easy while carrying our belongings too), and they instructed us not to order at the bar in this colorful but dimly lit tiki lounge. We essentially ordered from staff who took our order in the middle of the floor, then we had to hold our drinks, some that came with additional shot glasses, in full hands, as we were never seated. We did find a barrel to set our drinks on later, but their process and expectations for guests was just really weird and impractical. The theme and decor of the setting was lovely, with moments of a lightning and thunder effect that made the experience more immersive. But we were not impressed by the sticky menus and sticky floor, nor the lack of service and minimal help from staff while there. We made the most of our time at False Idol regardless of their shortcomings. The bombay sling and enigma de muerte were pretty decent in quality and flavor, so it's safe to say the drinks aren't the problem here. And though we probably won't return, it was cool for a one-time experience.

As the self-appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back at it with another one. After having dinner in…read morethe area, we stopped by Charade for some drinks on a Monday night. I parked on the street close to the dinner spot I went to and then walked over to Charade. Ambiance (5/5): Charade is a speakeasy so here's your clue. It's located inside Balboa. Look for the room with the arcade games and you're on the right track. Once you enter the speakeasy, you'll immediately be impressed with the old school charm. It seats roughly 20-30 people and there's a bar on one end and a stage on the other end. Old school red curtains add to the vibe. And here's the best part. On Mondays, it's jazz night. Local musicians will play which makes for a great time. Service (3/5): There was one bartender working when we were there. Overall, she provided pretty good service. There was one comment she made which rubbed me the wrong way but no biggie. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so were on a liquid diet. I did notice that they have a few snacks available like popcorn. Drinks (4.5/5): When you think of speakeasies, you think of elevated cocktails. I look for creativity and an interesting blend of flavors and ingredients. The menu here, while not huge, has some interesting options. Outside of the menu itself, the prices are reasonable (especially for California). And they make you stiff drinks which is always appreciated. Taking into account the cocktails and the ambiance, Charade is an awesome laid-back speakeasy. Make sure to stop by on a Monday for jazz night. That takes things up a notch.
