Lobster roll, fish and chips
Eric F.

Second time back, this is our go to restaurant on the Hilton Bayfront property. The service was a little slow this time, probably because we were close to the 4pm check in rush. Once we flagged our server down and placed our order, everything came out quickly. Lobster roll was juicy and succulent, and the fries were nicely seasoned. The fish and chips was also tasty. This place overlooks the water so it's a nice day, on a sunny day they have outdoor seating for even better vibes

Perfect place for networking events we the restaurant is so big and the patio is huge and a variety of seating. I have been a few times with catered food that is always good and appreciated. Nice wine and beer bar specially for the latest networking event. Pleasant atmosphere and food comfortable seating. This restaurant is mostly frequented by congress goers.

Tuna Poke from day 2

Hudson & Nash is the restaurant inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, on the concourse level. It's large and spacious with plenty of indoor, some outdoor, and bar seating. They have happy hour from 8-10pm each night. We came here two nights in a row during happy hour, but our experiences were very different each night. The first evening, we sat at a table all the way in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress was pretty nice and let us know certain dishes were half off for happy hour. We ordered the tuna poke and calamari fritti, and a beer. Tuna poke was really good and came with black sesame rice chips. The calamari wasn't that good. The fried batter wasn't crispy enough and the texture of the squid was not good either. The next day, we sat at the bar and ordered the tuna poke again. The service was not good. We waited a long time to order, get food, etc. Furthermore, the bartender told us the happy hour poke was $15, not half off. I wasn't too pleased with the inconsistent information and inconsistent charging, especially since we came and had the exact same thing the day before and still had the receipt with proof. For some reason, the second night's tuna poke wasn't as good as the first's. The second night's service was by far lacking compared to the first's. We only got one giant rice crisp on day two instead of many the first night. If you are staying at the hotel, the restaurant is convenient.

Stayed at the Hilton Bayfront over Memorial Day weekend and dined at Hudson & Nash with our daily food credit. We came at about 3:30PM. They weren't too busy, but service was meh. We got seated towards the back of the restaurant facing the ocean. We waited about 10-15 minutes after being seated but no one came to help us. We enjoyed the view while we waited, but we had to flag down a waiter to get waters, and to place our orders. After we placed our order, the food and drinks came out relatively quickly. 10/10 to the bartender who made my old fashion drink. It was solid. I had the lobster roll while my bf enjoyed the fish and chips. I'd say it was pretty tasty overall. A star off because not only was the service meh, but our server also added an item to our bill that we didn't order. We brought it to his attention and he apologized and fixed it, but yeah, check your bill people or you may be overcharged.

Great location right near the water. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Good service. Clean restaurant. Located downstairs in the Hilton Bayside. The food was overall ok, some were better than other. The bayside bene was good but they accidentally wrote the wrong order for the protein so they gave us a nice salmon rose free of charge to compensate. We also ordered the waffle sammie which left more to be desired. Portion size was kind of meh and the waffle itself wasn't the best. The picture of the food is a combined plate with both entrees.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and my first time dining at this restaurant, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The food was average, the service was average, and the staff at the counter were unfriendly. Overall, it did not justify the price. Based on this experience, I would not consider returning or spending my money here again in the future.

Orecchiette Pasta (bottom) and Chermoula Chicken (top)

My boyfriend and I visited for lunch as their breakfast service was ending. We opted for takeout since we weren't sure about parking. It's located on the first floor at waterfront side in the Hilton Bayfront hotel on Park Blvd just outside of Gaslamp. As mentioned, we didn't know where to park but there most likely is a parking area for customers who are not staying at the Hilton. My boyfriend and I ordered their Orecchiette Pasta and Chermoula Chicken. The food smelled amazing on the drive home. The pasta dish was just okay. It had a lot of pasta with only a small amount of vegetables and scattered sausages. There was a nice, subtle spicy kick in the sauce. The chicken, on the other hand, was nicely seasoned with a lot of flavor, but it had some pink areas, so we heated it up just in case. The figs and vegetables were very good. There was a side of "soup" that came with the chicken meal, I believe. It was very flavorful and good, but I started to wonder if it was meant to be a sauce for the chicken because it was kind of thick... We tried it with the chicken and was thoroughly surprised by how much of a difference it made with and without that "sauce". The takeout container for the pasta almost broke in half when we arrived home because the sauce soaked through. This dish should have been packaged in two containers but thankfully, this dish was on top of the chicken entrée. Overall, the food was relatively good especially the chicken dish. Would love to come back to try their other chicken dishes when the menu changes if they're all this flavorful. Just hope that the chicken would be fully cooked without the residual pinkness. We should have also read the signs about the automatic 20% gratuity before ordering takeout. It would have been a better experience dining in as we're already charged the gratuity. P.S. There is a 5% service charge + 20% mandatory gratuity. Even with takeout orders, there is an automatic 20% gratuity added which is kind of crazy in my opinion. We failed to see this when entering.

Hudson & Nash is conveniently located inside the Hilton, which makes it an easy option if you're staying at the hotel or nearby. The service was fine and the space itself is pleasant enough, but overall the food was pretty mediocre -- nothing terrible, just not memorable or worth going out of your way for. One thing that really threw me off was the number of birds flying inside and landing on tables. I actually like birds, but seeing them around where people are eating made me uncomfortable, especially from a hygiene standpoint. It honestly distracted from the experience and made it hard to fully enjoy the meal.

Nothing special but an overall solid breakfast bowl. The bacon was a bit overcooked but the eggs and tots made up for it. Not a lot of flavor or seasoning but it's a quick breakfast dish. Overall worth a try

Grabbed a late lunch/early dinner with the family during Comic Con (2025). We parked in the hotel parking structure, so it was convenient. We had our kid with us, so we couldn't sit at the bar upstairs. Since it was Comic Con weekend, we were given a special menu, so choices were limited. No complaints. The food we ordered was filling and delicious. We did not have to wait at all for a table. Service was relatively quick considering how many people were there. Our food also came out quickly. With exception to receiving 2 BLT sandwiches with avocado and no kids chicken tenders, everything was fine. The tenders came out quickly. There's not much I can say in this review. I'm not sure if the noise level is normally this high, and if prices are usually this high. All I can say is that it seems on par with Comic Con weekend.

Lasagna Scomposta

My husband and I decided to have dinner here and sat at the bar. It was the end of the night, we sat at the bar. The bartender was great. Provided suggestions and was patient while we made a decision. I tried something new; Lasagna Scomposta. The Food was delicious and filling.

Came here for Mother's Day brunch and honestly, the food was so good. Oysters, poke, omelet station, prime rib, salmon... and that lobster mac and cheese? My whole family was seriously impressed with the quality and variety. Our server seemed a bit over it, probably post-Mother's Day rush vibes, but no big deal. We'll definitely be back to celebrate again (and eat way more). Oh, and shoutout to my espresso martini, which was absolutely on point. Then, as if I had not eaten enough that week, I went back after the bartender told me how good their wings are.. and he wasn't kidding, they were SO good!!

The atmosphere is definitely creative and fun, and I like that there are several food options along with a large selection of cocktails and mocktails. On this visit, we tried the rice dish and the pancake, and while both were okay, the flavors seemed just a little off compared to what I was expecting. The cocktails were also much stronger than anticipated. We sat at the bar this time instead of at a table, and the seating felt very cramped. The bar stools were so close to the standing area that it was difficult to even pull out a chair without people brushing past. Because of that, we ended up finishing our food and drinks and leaving pretty quickly instead of lingering and enjoying the experience. Mothership has a really cool concept and a unique vibe, but for me, it's more of a place to try once in a while rather than somewhere I'd be rushing back to visit.

His questions guided my indecision towards a Berkshire Old Fashioned that was fantastic despite my fumbling to get there. I love coffee (specifically strong espresso drinks), so I asked for a strong, coffee infused, punchy cocktail, but with a different base of alcohol from the old fashioned. What came out was the best cocktail I will probably ever have in my life. The bourbon cocktail with coffee liqueur (and a number of other garnishes I will never remember) hit the bullseye. I've gone over the past decade with friends/family alike and 60% of the time it's been solid. As I've looked around before posing, it seems the restaurant is in a steady spiral downward over the years. I've had great service here and it sucks to say this evening was such a poor experience. I hope everyone working can be on the same page moving forward to avoid this happening again to others. I decided to come by for birthday dinner and figured 8pm was a decent time to still get great food and service. We made a reservation in advance and got to a table in 5 minutes. That's wonderful, always love that for anyone. The non-alcoholic drinks are always a favorite as someone who's been sober for years. However, it all got much more complicated after that. After not hearing or getting any updates from the server for 50 mins on our appetizer, we asked if everything was ok and if they had potentially forgot about our order. It's happened before no worries. The server said no and it just takes a while. That's fine and fair, it's to be expected on a skeleton crew for a Wednesday night shift. It was odd to see at least 4 tables and groups who had been seated after us get their food before us. When we got our Doom Bloom, around 8:55pm, over 50% of it was burnt to a crisp, the smaller mushrooms had been completely blackened to a point where you could just taste charred. Something tells me this is not the best way to serve food to others but what do I know as someone who's been coming here for years. When we got our Mind Melt and BBQ Jackfruit, which was another 50 minutes later now around 9:40pm, these entrees had met the same fate. The BBQ Jackfruit sourdough was so dry and burnt it tasted like a saltine cracker left in a campfire as a joke. The fries were overcooked, super dry, and stale all at the same time. It's like it was left in the heat lamp for 30 minutes or far too long to be enjoyed for what would be great food. My partners food thankfully wasn't to the same degree as mine but still not great. We were checking with ourselves quietly to make sure the other wasn't loosing it or if we were missing out on something. People will be people and that will never change. I hope some else won't have to spend over $100 with tip included to get the same service we got. I cannot imagine how bad things are behind the scenes for this to be a standard the staff are okay with and that they perpetuate based off other recent reviews in this matter. It was embarrassing and a waste of money. I do not recommend coming here given how this situation has transpired. My stomach still hurts while typing this review on my sofa at home.

Meanwhile, we were sitting there with our purses shoved beside us and weren't offered the same courtesy. It may seem like a small detail, but combined with the lack of attention, it made us feel overlooked. The drinks came out quickly, and the chicken satay and mac and cheese were decent. Look for the room with the arcade games and you're on the right track. Once you enter the speakeasy, you'll immediately be impressed with the old school charm. It seats roughly 20-30 people and there's a bar on one end and a stage on the other end. Old school red curtains add to the vibe. And here's the best part. On Mondays, it's jazz night. Local musicians will play which makes for a great time. Service (3/5): There was one bartender working when we were there. Overall, she provided pretty good service. There was one comment she made which rubbed me the wrong way but no biggie. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so were on a liquid diet. I did notice that they have a few snacks available like popcorn. Drinks (4.5/5): When you think of speakeasies, you think of elevated cocktails. I look for creativity and an interesting blend of flavors and ingredients. The menu here, while not huge, has some interesting options. Outside of the menu itself, the prices are reasonable (especially for California). And they make you stiff drinks which is always appreciated. Taking into account the cocktails and the ambiance, Charade is an awesome laid-back speakeasy. Make sure to stop by on a Monday for jazz night. That takes things up a notch.
