No coming over to add water or another coke, then we see her bringing ice to the bartender (not one bucket but three buckets of ice - why?) Finally, flagged her over going on 30minutes and asked about my scallops, she said they are almost done - right. The manager finally brought them and now they were over cooked, shrunk down to quarter. The manger apologized and said she would take it off my bill. This terrace bar is on the second floor of Hotel Republic. If you are going prior to Midsummer , you will need a jacket. They struggled with the heaters for a good 40 minutes. My drink included blueberries and the bartender grabbed the blueberries with his bare hands and threw them in my drink as opposed to grabbing a spoon or food picks. There was no hand washing before, or use of food handler gloves. I did not want to embarrass the bartender in front of other patrons, however there also was not a manager on duty to report this to. The flavors were on point. I had the Chilaquiles Verdes: with two over easy eggs on top. It had salsa verde, lime crema, red onions, & cilantro. The chilaquiles were bomb. I can't remember their name, but they were incredible. The woman in the group played the flute and sang her own original songs, and she was just mesmerizing. The two other guys in the band were equally talented, and together they created such a magical atmosphere. The band truly made the night feel special. We are staying at this hotel and thought of an easy snack after arriving. It was their social hour so we may as well get our complimentary drinks (Bonvoy status) and use the $25 credit. This is located on the 2nd floor. When we first got in, we weren't sure if it was a seat yourself or wait for host. After a couple mins we decided to seat ourselves. After seated, a waitress came up and brought menus without saying anything else. Not a problem. We were waiting for about 15 mins before I decided to go order from the bar since we were sure how it worked. At that moment a waiter came up and apologised for the wait and took our order. He was very friendly and was nice to turn on the heater for us and open the umbrella as it was starting to drizzle. The beer was good and food tasted great. Our favorite was the taco! The menu states that it includes 2 tacos, but we only got one. We asked the waiter and he confirmed that it should be 2 and brought the other one later. Meanwhile, the first waitress was seen just chitchatting and hanging with her coworkers without helping any tables. Our waiter appeared to be the only waiter in the area. Suddenly the manager shows up and she starts actually greeting customers, seating customers, bringing water to the table (which we were never offered), and taking orders. This would've been a 5 stars review if we wouldn't have had to ask for our second taco and if she would've been working from the get go. We will be back for the tacos though. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant or Hotel Republic. When we arrived, no one greeted us or offered to seat us. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other guests, so after waiting for some time, we finally seated ourselves. The server clearly saw us, made eye contact multiple times, and repeatedly walked past our table without acknowledging us. Eventually, we approached him and asked if we needed to order at the bar. He responded by saying that guests are supposed to wait to be seated and, because we had seated ourselves, he would not be serving us. His tone was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. This restaurant is located inside Hotel Republic, where we had planned to stay over the Fourth of July holiday. After this experience, we will be canceling our reservation and taking our business elsewhere. Customer service is a reflection of the overall hospitality experience, and unfortunately this encounter left a very negative impression. The lack of basic hospitality, combined with the disrespectful treatment we received, was unacceptable. I would not recommend Hotel Republic or its restaurant based on our experience. read more

Everything took about 30 minutes to get to our table which was strange considering the restaurant was mostly empty. All the food we received was disappointing. I got avocado toast that was advertised with sourdough. It ended up being burnt white bread with a glob of avocado on top for $18. My friend ordered a fruit bowl and all the fruit was mushy and looked old. She returned her food. The only good item we received was the espresso martini which was made with fresh espresso. My husband put in the notes for the reservation it was our anniversary (he's so thoughtful) so when we were seated at our table, our waiter Brent brought over complimentary champagne and wished us a happy day! He made wonderful suggestions for dinner and we ultimately ordered the steaks medium rare (his suggestion) and the creme brûlée plus the chocolate dessert. The food was hot and delicious!
