* "I have only had two months of experience with HMC, so I will not comment on the entire range of services they provide. However, I felt I should share some feedback about one specific issue. HMC is not good at mediating issues among residents. We have a wonderful community in our building, but one or two anonymous residents have written honestly baseless, false, or inaccurate complaints. Nevertheless, HMC requires all complaints to be formally addressed and the paperwork to be processed. I don't think anonymous complaints, especially when no research or proof is provided, should be permitted. It allows toxic harassment to play out on multiple residents of good will. It will drive away the good neighbors and retain the wrong community. I am going to read around on yelp to see if there are other options for our building."
"It's disheartening to see that the only reviews showing are the most negative ones, while twice as many positive ones have been filtered. It's worth scrolling down to the bottom of the page to find them.
I've been in my HOA for 12 years. We had a different management company at the beginning and had a terrible time with them. After about 4 years or so, we found Hudson. I was on the board at the time and active in going to meetings afterward so I saw first hand there were ups and downs and inconsistencies until Bob Lewis took over as our Hudson rep.
He's done a fine job and helped keep things on an even keel.
I must point out to one of the reviewers here that the HOA BOARD gives directions to the management company, which advises and carries out the board's wishes. If your monthly assessment is $500, that's not Hudson's fault.
If you don't like how the board is doing things, get active. Go to meetings. Speak up. And run for the board yourself to get your voice heard. Talk to neighbors so maybe a few of you can run together and try to change things.
Hudson doesn't deserve the blame for things the HOA decides to do.
We've been given good advice and perspective about what's done in other HOAs in the area so we can avoid doing things that would be wrong for our homeowners."
* "As a rule, I hate homeowner association-controlled communities but when you inherit a house, what can you do? I'll never willingly buy into an HOA again though. I like communities where people can have houses that don't all look alike, where you can put up the siding you like, where you don't get nasty letters for painting your door the wrong color or not asking before you replace a garage door.
But a management company has nothing to do with deciding any of that - it's all the board members and homeowners."
* "Hudson Management Company has done a great job for us over the last couple years they have managed our HOA. Prior to them taking over, a few other property management companies had left us in the red. Hudson, and our manager Tom Lewis, was the first to care enough and work hard to get us into the black. Tom has guided us through a number of projects to get our community looking great, and we've appreciated his guidance along the way."
* "I have been on the board through 2 other management companies, and we were way off track on our billing and everything before we landed on Hudson. Their tireless efforts outmatched that of any other management company, and we are finally starting to get back on track. I can't speak for other HOAs, but Hudson has done a great job for us." read more
