From the level of service (poor) to movement of urgency (zero), because they are probably one of the only dealerships with inventory they treat you poorly. They don't care about your time. I've given this dealership multiple chances, and I'm officially done. I purchased a car here and continued to return for scheduled maintenance--but the customer service has steadily declined. Most recently, it took me over 45 minutes just to schedule routine maintenance. One manager apologized and scheduled the appointment for me directly. Then, the next day, I received a call asking me to schedule maintenance--as if nothing had been done. I called back, only to be told there was no appointment on file. I've requested multiple callbacks from a manager, and no one ever follows up. When you do get someone on the phone, they're polite and try to be helpful, but there's absolutely no follow-through. This dealership feels completely mismanaged. After spending tens of thousands of dollars here, I won't be returning. This last experience sealed it. read more

I just wanted to send a note to let you know what a wonderful experience I had at Hudson Toyota Service department. My car died two days ago, and I was stranded on the shoulder of the NJ turnpike. I googled "Toyota Dealership near me and it was Hudson Toyota 2 miles away. I was towed by a NJ Turnpike towing service to Hudson Toyota where I met Erick Montero who was my service advisor. I'm 66 years old and have been to many Car Dealerships. I have had bad experiences before and was apprehensive, but service advisor Erick Montero relieved any concern I had.. Erick kept me informed throughout the entire service process and made me aware of the issues that I had and gave me a great explanation of what needed to be done and the cost. All the work the mechanics did was completed on time and I noted that the service area looks exceptionally clean even though they service so many cars a day. I needed a new battery and Alternator and while I was there the mechanic picked up that I needed a new Serpentine belt as well. The entire bill was very reasonable considering I got towed in from the N,J, Turnpike and was at their mercy to get home. The car now feels new. Eric should be the model you use for all service advisors - someone who cares. My one issue was not with Eric but with Hudson Toyota, Erick did not have a business card to give out because the dealership never got them for him, And the advisor next to Eric has been at Hudson Toyota for 4 months and still no business card. I may be old fashioned, but I am entrusting someone with my valuable asset - the least Hudson Toyota could do is give these hard-working guys business cards so when customers leave, they have the name and phone number of the person who inevitably is the only contact you have to get a status on your vehicle. read more

I definitely encountered racism and bias at this location by one of the Latino salesman and I debated on stating and posting this as a review for almost a month. Being judged as someone who would be difficult, being put aside, and not being greeted and ignored by over 10 men outside doing nothing while they just stood and chatted under shade on a hot day for 15 minutes was wild. I walked the lot by myself, saw the cars I was interested, was talked out of what I wanted and was prejudged about my income. I even walked to the dealer next door for ice cream and walked back staring like "hi...can be helped please". I took my salary of over 180K, credit score of 750 and drove across the street to another car dealership where I was in and out in 180 minutes. The staff are pleasant and friendly and they're fairly upfront about cost and fees. I got sold a car there and I've had it for 4 years with no issues and I'm legit done paying it off . The only issue I have is their costly and expensive service center. Mannnnn they will run a hole in your pocket and even for something minor you won't get your car back any time soon. Few issues I had with this place. 1. They confirmed via email that they would be able to factory order a black 2022 Toyota XSE for me. However, when I met Nissim in person (who was nice) they said they can't factory order a car. This was red flag #1. 2. I asked them if I can test drive one of their Toyota XSE's. They said they don't have any in the lot despite them listing about 13 of them available in stock on their website. 3. They refused to negotiate anything. I came alone after doing a bunch of research online and they were telling me that if I were to buy one of their cars they have incoming, I'd have to purchase their additional ~$1300-1500 paint protection and I can't remove any of their add-ons which add another ~$1000 to the MSRP. This is completely false. They said other Toyota dealers are charging more markups and that this is a steal for me. Little do they know I've already contacted 3 other Toyota dealerships who sell Toyotas at MSRP (no paint protection scam). Do your own research! Don't buy a car without test driving. Find a dealer that you can trust and is willing to negotiate and work with you. read more

I've had my car serviced here a few times located at Jersey City NJ, and this is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Specifically had a terrible experience with William Gaviria. I came in for an oil change and a multipoint inspection at 12:30 PM. I called him as soon as I received a text saying that the service on my car is complete with a DocuSign of the invoice with recommendations at 5:20 PM. He answered and immediately gave me an attitude saying he called me 3 times and left me a voicemail earlier that day, but I did not receive anything other than the text at 5:20PM. He was rushing the call and only focused on if I was going to pick up my car now. I still had questions on the multipoint inspection done and the 10+ recommended items listed on the DocuSign. I was asking him this information and he hurriedly listed off some items and prices. I didn't even get a chance to write down any information and prices of what each service entails. Since I was not really able to understand anything that he said, I asked if he could just send me a document of the cost on each listed item on the DocuSign. He kept saying that all the prices are all on the DocuSign even though it was not. After I said that the prices are not there, he again hurriedly listed off some items and prices, and asked again if I was going to pick the car up right now. I told him that I will pick up the car tomorrow and get more information on my car when I pick it up since he seemed to be in a rush to end the call. He did call back 40 minutes after our initial conversation, and apologized for how he acted and gave me proper information on questions that I had, but that is not the right way to treat a customer to begin with. I was going to do my additional car service here after I received information and prices, but not anymore. This is a terrible way to treat a customer who was just trying to get more information on what they're spending their money on. read more

This establishment turned away my cousins, a married couple who just moved from Guam, right before they were about to enter the place yesterday. They had an appointment with someone named Jack inside but a man by the door (looks in his 60s) turned them away and encouraged them to look online instead. It took a call to the receptionist for them to be guided in because they were discouraged and intimidated from their first experience. Once a receptionist who was aware of the appointment guided them inside, the whole experience continues to go down hill. It felt rushed and belittling as if they felt like they were being judged on their appearance. They were immediately asked for a $500 down payment after receiving no price breakdowns, no agreements, and no options to the vehicle/car wanted. It wasn't even available. Much to say, everything's been settled. .... 24 hours later by purchasing a Honda CRV at MetroHonda across the street where service and hospitality were exceptionally much better. To the man at the front of the establishment, if you're placed by the door to welcome potential buyers, it'd be nice if you could do you part. How ironic, right? read more

I learned i have to check their work because they will challenge you if you comeback a day or two later in relation to what you brought your car in for initially!! This review is for the Service department which is very good, especially Sabina a service rep and the manager of the Service rep department, Rudy. Every time I have come they are friendly and fast. The waiting room is well appointed and they have a free coffee machine that makes a variety of quality hot beverages. There's large screen tvs, outlets for charging devices and most times there have been fresh fruit and some baked goods that I can't eat as a diabetic. The service mechanics are good from what I can tell but I have a Camry so I wouldn't know, the only problem my Toyota suffers comes from the roads and air of NJ/NYC driving so tired and air filters are all they change. I'd choose Hudson Toyota simply for this Service department, I've never seen anything like theirs in all my dealings with NJ Toyota dealers. read more

This is for the service department: I work with cars a lot and I rarely bring my cars for an issue to Toyota, but I thought I needed to because it seemed there was a complex issue with the car (ie. electric, computer related). After taking an hour for diagnostics, they call me to tell me they need another 2 hours for diagnostics to REALLY understand what's going on. Not to mention that he is a cool guy and its very easy to explain what's going on with my car to him. While I was in the waiting area I saw Cynthia Cuevas who has helped me out in past many times. She greeted me like I was family and I had a great conversation with her also . I went to Hudson Toyota wearing my pajamas Thursday morning but I was treated like a VIP specially by Brahim. Brahim saw me looking at the purple used Rav4 and that's when the conversation started. Yes, conversation not negotiation. I told him what I can and he did everything to assist me. I am glad I came that day because I went home with a brand new car. Something that I really loved. Everyone is very approachable and the vibe is so good. They treat everyone equally. Based on my experience that day I will definitely recommend going to this dealership and ask for Brahim to help you out. He is not the typical sales person. He will not push you to buy something that you do not want but he will do everything he can to help you get what you want. Here is the scam trap we have been defrauded in: Hudson Toyota sold us a used vehicle, claiming it is certified, despite the fact that the 20+ items are left blank and unchecked on the Inspection Check Sheet, out of the 160 points required by Toyota Certification Program. Hudson Toyota have misrepresented the condition of the vehicle and defrauded us into buying this so called "certified" vehicle. They could do the same to you guys out there. My advice: know what you want, leave if they don't satisfy what you want. Be persistent. I was able to get a deal that I wanted.. my credit is not good (below 600), and they still worked with what I told them; my parameters. Jacques showed a variety of cars in my payment range.. and I drove off with a Certified 2011 Rav4 that night. The manager who's name starts with a Q.. he is straight forward.. but he worked the deal out for me, so I'm very thankful to him. Though I did feel as if they both were trying to pressure me into doing something I couldn't do... they still helped me with where I was at. Jhonathan, I believe he's one of their Finance specialist.. He was young, knew His stuff and also helped us on our closing the deal. He pulled some strings for us, as all of the Toyota team did. Had a disgusting experience at this dealership and I don't recommend anyone to ever go here. They kept pulling out prices from their a** and wanted to charge $10K over the sticker price. I understand there is a car shortage but don't think your customers are dumb or stupid enough to fall for your tricks. Upon inquiring about a new car price, I was told one price upfront and a few minutes later the sales person came back with a quote of at least a $7k markup from the MSRP, which did not even include taxes or fees. Clearly they were not interested in selling me a car so they kept making excuses and decided to wait for someone who is willing to pay an insane asking price. Well good luck with that Hudson Toyota.
