I started out with them on class pass, but enjoyed the workouts so much, that I bought classes separately (which I NEVER did). It also helped that they used to have yelp or gilt deals. My favorite classes were ones taught by Bao and Marco, but you really can't go wrong. I've even tried their yoga, pilates, and boxing classes Each class left me feeling stronger and accomplished!

I have a few injuries that impact some flexibility but generally don't limit me (for example, I play competitive tennis and used to box semi-competitively). I also stated I was just looking for general conditioning but hoped that through the strength training I could improve my structure (for example, my shoulders pull forward a little because I need to develop my back a bit). A week passes and I don't hear a thing. I send a follow-up and very quickly hear back with an e-mail response stating that they aren't a physical therapist and won't take me on as a client. I'm somewhat surprised but sent a response clarifying I wasn't looking for a physical therapist just a trainer and seeing who they could recommend. Again, I didn't hear back...I've moved on. I ended up finding an amazing trainer who I've been working with the last few months and the progress has been great.

It's probably due to the fact that it's my first time in my life that I'm actually training at a place that employs professionals (which means every week I get my ass kicked). I've done my fair share of training through various corporate clubs and the quality of trainers can not even come close to those that work at Rich Barretta. I've had the opportunity to work with two of the trainers here and both are extremely friendly, creative with their workouts and knowledgeable. Each week I'm presented with an entirely new workout. I've never repeated any exercise in the 3 months I've been training and the new muscles I've discovered thank me (or hate me) for that. The facilities are clean and intimate. Since it's a private studio, there are no distractions (other trainers talking to your trainer, waiting for equipment, not having enough space, gym members staring at you, etc.). I feel really comfortable working out here and I'm not embarrassed to try some of the exercises my trainer wants me to do since there's no one around watching me. The prices are reasonable as well. If you're looking to train somewhere, I would 150% recommend going here rather than with a trainer in your gym.

At one point, a masseuse even asked if I was born without trap muscles because she couldn't feel them and then expressed doubt that I could lift a bottle of water over my head. This was obviously alarming, so I emailed Encore with the request of averting imminent death with a side order of vanity. And deliver they did. In the first month I saw visible changes in tone and body shape. It's been 3 months now and I feel better: more energetic and overall happier (either it's those endorphins or I'm just glad to not drop dead at any moment from a lifetime of inactivity). I also feel pretty great in a swimsuit. Throughout this, Damien has been a great guide. What I appreciate most is his experience and presence allows for the most efficient use of my time by removing decision making on my part. If I were doing this alone or in a group class, I'd waste time trying to figure out if my form was correct, if I was using something too light/too heavy, etc. Without his help I'd have spent a few fruitless months trying to work out and then give up after not seeing any results. Beginning exercising here was the best decision I made last year, and I'm slightly mad I didn't find Encore sooner and start this earlier in life.

As a former competitive swimmer, it was extremely difficult to do flip turns, not only because they closed half of the pool horizontally due to lifeguard staffing issues, but also because there were multiple people moving in different directions. It was busy when it first opened in the morning but then calm downed a bit and folks were able to do more lap swimming. Water was pretty clean and temperature was good; chlorine levels weren't too bad. Sounds like they close for the fall/winter so I'm hoping to come back before it gets cold.

I've always been someone who's played sports and gone to the gym. I was never a huge fan of working out with trainers as they seemed repetitive and costly. Working out with Oscar, however, has been a total game changer. He's extremely responsible, articulate, and knowledgeable. He's showed me small but very important adjustments to workouts that have fundamentally changed the way they impact my body in a positive way. He also follows up on things that we discuss. He once went out of his way to record and send over some extra exercises when he didn't need to at all, as well as other notes regarding nutrition. I really value this as I know this means he has a true passion in fitness and in helping others achieve their goals. Our workouts are always well structured. While they are often challenging, its never to the point that I feel I'm at risk in getting injured. They're often varied so you never feel like you're doing the same workout again. I often feel energized at the end of a workout instead of drained. Most importantly, he's a person who's naturally positive, high energy, and optimistic. I feel that trait is extremely important in working with anyone- and in particular if that person is training you. I have extremely high regards for Oscar and Hudson training and would recommend you not to think twice if you're looking for an amazing trainer in NYC. read more

I train with Felix who is an awesome coach. He's super knowledgeable, incredibly supportive and motivating, and genuinely invested in helping you reach your goals. Oscar is an incredible personal trainer! He made me feel comfortable from the very start. You can tell that training is not just a job for him, but a passion. Hudson Training was exactly what I was looking for. A one on one experience in a private gym to get back in shape. I didn't want to go back to a big noisy gym with a trainer not fully engaged. Oscar makes every step not only easy but fun. It really helped me having the first (free) consultation to learn all about how they could help me and I felt very safe and confident to proceed. I really like that they keep every work out new and different from the previous with different exercise's so it never gets boring. Help with diet is also a critical part of the program and Oscar makes this very easy to follow with lots of tips and ideas. I'm already loosing weight and feeling more toned. I can't recommend Oscar and his team enough! My partner and I have been training with them for just over a month, and the results have been great. The workouts are always varied, keeping things fun and engaging, so much so that you don't even notice the time flying by. The studio is not only beautiful but also very clean, creating a perfect environment for working out. The attention to detail and the care they take with each session really sets them apart. I have so so much fun working out here! Oscar is so intelligent and is always focused and attentive. Hudson training is incredible! Seeing Oscar for my sessions are always a highlight of my week. Before training with Oscar, I didn't have much experience with weight training, and he has been super patient while teaching me all the correct techniques. I love working out with Oscar! Oscar is not only very professional and knowledgeable, but also a wonderfully positive person and a great motivator. He also focus is on stretching before and after each session. Charlie will help warm you up so that you can push your body safely. He also helps cool you down after the workout to release tension in your muscles. The cool down consists of various assisted stretches and targeting areas with the theragun. Highly recommend. Nimble is a nice gym. Everyone is doing some sort of one on one work out class and sharing the space comfortably. I have been there at many hours of the day and it is never too crowded. The facilities are well kept. A lot of great equipment of all kinds. There are showers so you can go before work. They have shower products and provide towels. I run about 20 miles a week, so I am by no means in amazing shape. The class was about 10 people, it was very challenging but not impossible. Andy the instructor was amazing at giving you pointers for making the circuits harder or easier depending on your level of fitness. I will definitely be going back, it is an awesome way to break up the monotony of a workout routine, i.e. running. Also if your a fitness maniac, there were some people training there who were in ridiculous shape.

My first hour long session was basically a discussion and getting to know session and then multiple follow ups about expensive training programs that I should sign up for but sadly could not afford. Once Juan Pellot and Sean Cronin realized that I was not the high ticket client they hoped for- he and Nylo completely ghosted me. It has been over a year and I have yet to be able to schedule a second and third session. If you want to feel bad about your fitness progress, if you want to feel ignored and waste money and time then please call them.

I reconnected with him through Supreme Training and signed up for 20 sessions a couple of months prior to my wedding. While I know I need to incorporate more cardio and better eating into my daily life, these sessions with him have been invaluable! He pushes me to work on muscles I didn't know I had and when I saw my wedding photos, I was like "ooh, my arms look good!" I jumped at the chance to participate and and help out (since I was studying to get certified myself as a personal trainer)! So this review speaks to the demo classes he ran over the summer that I participated in. The Mom Rocks sessions were amazing for me last summer! Heyward uses a mix of cardio, strength, endurance and fun with the kids to keep the class interactive and effective. My son Jack loved being outdoors with me and I was able to meet other moms in my neighborhood. Heyward is able to listen to each mom's needs and understand her boundaries while still getting amazing results. Every session is fresh and my muscles thank me for it days afterwards! Mom Rocks should be picking up again once the weather warms up and I fully intend to participate in more sessions! I'm also going to be helping out with the classes so don't be surprised to see me there running drills!
