She was nice but overworked and therefore took her a long time just to stop by our table. Ok, that's fine. The real problem was that there was only one cook too. By the time I realized the mistake I had made by staying here, it was too late. It took 55 minutes from when we sat down to when we were served lunch. There were maybe 4-5 average size parties of people there in booths of about 2-5 people each. The dessert menu was entirely cake and pie from the dessert counter but the rotating dessert refrigerator had literally one pie in it and a piece of another pie that looked like it had been in there awhile. The pie refrigerator itself looked unsanitary. The bathrooms are in desperate need of basic maintenance/renovation--I pee in a lot of pit toilets and honeybuckets so a gross bathroom doesn't usually phase me, but being a foodservice business, the condition of the bathroom was alarming. The food was as expected--the chicken ranch bacon wrap was very large but I didn't taste much chicken, mostly just mayo, lettuce and bacon bits. The burger looked decent and the fries were standard frozen deep fried which were fine. I really do like to support mountain diners when I come off long hikes, but this one didn't hit the mark this time. Even just one more extra hand would have made a world of a difference.
