This place is clearly overrated in all aspects but the view, that gets the two stars. Old structure with outdated interior throughout, starting at the second floor by the bar where all the tables, chairs and the bar itself seems like from late 80s, with service, although with the smiles, been extremely delayed with the food delivered and utensils missed to some of us. Bathrooms remained from the days of original structure with old tiles, faucets and urinal. Main floor dining room with the black tablecloth looked a little cozy however it was closed around 4 PM on the Friday night. Food quality is way out of it, where the menu selections are limited could use some improvements. Beef in the salad was extremely chewy, coconut shrimp missed the coconut and had and was drowned in flour. Crab in the sandwich was too salty and too much mayo. Was left behind untouched without thinking twice. Oh, and one more thing, since this place is out on the water, there is no beer on tap. Canned only. Overall, at one time show place just to check out and enjoy the view.

Wow what a find! Our server,Burton, was phenomenal! Talk about a positive walking advertisement for an establishment. We were sat at a both in the bar with an amazing view of the lake. We enjoyed the "all day happy hour" because a football game was on. We had the cheese curds which were so yummy! And my husband and I shared the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection! Prime were huge! We were stuffed but couldn't resist getting the lava cheesecake to go. It was very good (but my only gripe was that the portion was really small for the$12 price tag). It was like a half a muffin tin in size. :\ The place was clean and there was plenty of parking. The views were just so amazing! And again, Burton was the absolute best! This guy needs a raise and recognition as he really did make our time at HUFF's a joy! Highly recommend!

Ate here a few nights ago for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed ourselves! All of the food was well cooked and delicious. We sat out on the patio with our large group and enjoyed the sunset and view of the lake. Service was quick and friendly. Anytime we needed something our waiter showed up almost instantly. The staff inside the bar were extremely friendly and helpful as well when we were trying to figure out where our party was. My only comment is that when you first walk in, there's no clear indication on which direction you're supposed to go (upstairs or to the left or the right). Felt a little awkward. I definitely plan on coming back and bringing my family.

Had a great late lunch/early dinner at Huff's Sunday. The view is fantastic. The service is great. The section of food offered is something for everyone with yummy salads. We made it for Happy Hour which was a great perk. They are working on the outdoor deck. It was super hot that day so it was fine to eat inside. Since the US Forest Service owns the lake and land the rules for renovation are strict. This is one of the only or few resorts/ restaurants at the lake and it is very needed! We will definitely return and bring family and friends.

This restaurant is filthy. The staff are all under age for the most part, and their attention and maturity are lacking in some ways which make for a less than stellar dining experience. They are very polite but aren't able to make recommendations about food or wine because of their age. We arrived and were seated alongside a table with a trail of ants devouring a live fly. We asked for the server to wipe the insects down and he did so, but left much of the trail behind. For the listed menu prices, I expected the food to be better. The highlight of our meal were the crab cakes. The filet however was sadly underwhelming and the dishes were cold. The location was super close proximity to the cabins and the view was pretty but otherwise I would skip because of the inflated pricing and lackluster experience. Note that there aren't many places to dine within a 20+ mile radius making the choices very limited within the vicinity.

Beautiful place with great views of the lake. The service was excellent. The food excellent. We had the fish tacos, citrus salad, and enjoyed some great cider.

First off, nice atmosphere but, cob webs and flies in the windows above our booth. We sat sat down and we're greeted and given menus. No silverware. I had to ask for water. I was willing to wait for a couple of glasses at the bar but, the bartender said he'd take of it in a minute when he was done making a drink! Not customer service, in my opinion! My date and and I ordered, my salad was great but his sandwich was definitely lacking! A club sandwich with no lettuce and tomato that didn't even look like tomato! We're both spending far too much time visiting the bathroom since! We won't be back!

Had a great time here with our family. They have a pretty good happy hour, lots of drink and food specials! Great hospitality here and you can't beat the view. Such a nice place to visit. Now the food is just ok and it is pretty pricey for mediocre microwaved fare. $22 for a cheeseburger? And it was dry and just meh. Everything is just served warm, nothing hot and crispy. If they get a better cook or different menu it could be great. But if you're looking to take a lake break this isn't too bad a place to pass some time.

We hosted my mother-in-law's surprise 70th birthday dinner in the private room at Huff's at Bridge Bay, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish! First off, a huge shoutout to Ashley, the incredible Event Coordinator, who helped us pull off every detail flawlessly. Our server Jesus was attentive, warm, and on point all night. The chef deserves major applause--the food was absolutely EXCELLENT. The pesto chicken was tender and flavorful, the BBQ tri-tip was perfectly cooked and smoky, and the loaded mashed potatoes were a crowd favorite (I could eat a bowl of those every day!). Also, a special thank you to Dillon, the hostess with the mostess, who greeted everyone with such energy and kindness--she set the tone for the evening and without whom the surprise party would have been blown. The private event room was perfect for the occasion, gorgeous views of Shasta Lake, and the whole team made us feel welcome, cared for, and like we were celebrating at a five-star venue. Amazing time had by all--we can't wait to come back!

This particular location (Churn Creek Rd.) is the best out of all 3 stores in the city in regards to interior and general vibes. The prices are a bit high, but in contrast to its contenders, I know what I'm getting and I'm happy when I go. My personal favorite is the Peruvian Steak Sandwich (specifically with subbed-in sourdough bread) and truffle fries. Sizing of things like the fries admittingly have shrank since I first went three years ago sadly. I have yet to have anything bad off the menu that didn't please my tastebuds. (It also has working machines for their lemonade options compared to the College View location. Those drinks are an absolute huge plus!)

When asking if they use tamari or gluten free soy sauce, she said she wasn't sure and pointed to a list of salad dressing options that were marked. Not their rice bowls toppings - heads up- it's regular soy sauce. Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. For me, and my gluten sensitivity, probably won't be back since there aren't many options that are actually gluten free.

Assistance+ Balance+…read moreCleanliness+ Deliciousness++ Environment+ Assistance: service was prompt professional and kind, we were greeted warmly and treated kindly. Our waitress was wonderful, the cook was prompt and masterful, the Owner oversaw his restaurant like a proud Lord watching over his kingdom, greeting friends and customers warmly. Balance: quantity and quality versus price were good. Cleanliness: the restaurant was good and good clean order, only complaint is there were a few flys. Clearly the opportunistic as it seemed every time someone would open a door a fly would charge in as quickly as they could following the sweet sweet smell of barbecue. Deliciousness: when I tell you I'm a barbecue snob, I mean it in every sense of the word. I've been grilling since I was a child, I've lived in the south I've lived in the east I've lived on the West Coast and I've lived in the Carolinas. My palate is normally greatly displeased with every barbecue I encounter but I take it for its own merit. Each grill master has their own ups and downs. So when I tell you this was some of the best barbecue I've ever had in my life you can take it as gospel. What you taste when you eat the barbecue here is the meat, the smoke, and the love that goes into it which is a vague term that is hard to define, if I were to try I would have to say that it's a combination of care, the way they prepare it and take care of the meat after it's prepared, seasoning, seasoning is very easy to overdo depending on the meat how long it's going to be cooked what cut it is where it came from how it was processed etc, and how they cut slice or prepare it. That's what love means when it comes to grilling and barbecue. Care, seasoning, preparation. So yes, Old Mill Eatery and Smokehouse blew me away. I only sampled their ground beef, bacon, and tri-tip, but if those are any indicator at the mastery they have over meat I am looking forward to trying everything they have to offer. My tri-tip was cooked to perfection, I could taste the beef, although it was shaved very thin because I had it on a sandwich I could still tell it was tri-tip and not just roast beef being pushed off as tri-tip, the bread was fluffy and fresh and seared with a bit of butter, soft and warm but crisp on the edge, the onion rings were fluffy and yet crispy on the outside, the garlic tater tots were perfect in every way crispy crunchy and savory, the bacon blue Burger was cooked to perfection it was not overpowered by blue cheese crumble and the bacon almost seemed as if it was not only peppered but candied in thick slabs, the side order of garlic bread was perfectly cooked crisp on the edges fluffy in the middle buttery and garlicky as it should be. Absolutely incredible top marks! Environment: there are only a few tables as the restaurant is a bit smaller but what they do with their space is comfortable and works. The restaurant itself is decorated like a lodge, reminiscent of a sawmill or a logging camp, with treated wood and a log cabin aesthetic, the decorations themselves consist mostly of historic articles and photos of both friend and family and the history of the restaurant. They also sell very cool cups that I definitely meant to get and will have to go back to that one for myself and the Missus. I need to make a mental note of that. All together this was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to go back. Their menu had so many things I want to try. The French toast tacos caught my eye definitely going to try that. But more importantly to me I want more of that barbecue, I want to try the brisket, sausage, chicken, pulled pork, I want to try it all! If the other items are half as good as what I had today I don't think I need to eat anywhere else. If you find yourself in Shasta Lake do yourself a favor and try the Old Mill Eatery and Smokehouse. See if you can take on their Giant Smokehouse Burger or a Pit Master challenge.
