    Once the conference was over that my friends and I were attending, we wanted to be able to explore the island. Our hotel's concierge suggested Hui since multiple ride shares didn't seem feasible and their 9-hour island tour (~$180pp) was a little expensive for what we wished to do. The app was fairly easy to setup - you have to input your driver license/background check info before getting approved to drive (can take up to 24 hours for review). There are a lot of options scattered throughout Honolulu, including a couple parked at our hotel's garage. All of the vehicles are Toyotas. It was fairly affordable for the 4 of us, especially after being texted a coupon for the first ride. Why HUI was easy: I got approved pretty quickly so I was able to reserve an SUV (a RAV4) within an hour of approval for our excursion. Wasn't hard to find the vehicle in the garage and read thru the FAQ beforehand. They provide a debit card to fill up the vehicle & it's keyless entry. The RAV4 was smooth and easy to drive since I already have an SUV at home. The most difficult things were the people who reserved before us didn't take care of the vehicle - they left sand in the front mats and didn't fill up the tank before dropping off. The automatic driving sensors were off too - I gave plenty of space (2-3 car lengths) and it would still scream "TAILGATING", similarly a couple times driving back into the city the speed limit changed 3-4x within a short distance so I couldn't have enough time to slow down yet it still yelled "SPEED VIOLATION". There has gotta be a little leniency there.

    This is the Lexus car share we were given today...it's junk and looks terrible inside and out too. I don't know about you, but Lexus has always been branded as a luxury car. That was ages ago for this car. It should have been retired ages ag It's been side swiped, hit front and sides too and the console door is broken. The interior is a mess as well. It's not comfortable to drive in a messed up looking car at all. The rental fee is about $16/hour. We had to go around the car again to take active photos to post on their app, so we wouldn't be charged for the damages. We would not be charged if we post the photos, despite having a car now for 20 minutes and sitting in his car and assessing all that was wrong with it. We had to waste 25-30 minutes on hold to figure out the next step and take pics and upload them to the app. We are stuck with this junk of a Lexus for the day and still have for this car. Unbelievable.

    I am a Kama'aina Hui user and I've been a user since the beginning! The first two years the customer service was A-1! Now if I have a problem I always get their answering service! It's like Servco doesn't care about these details. Please note that you will get there mainland answering service. They're nice but can't help. Only can read their scripted answers! First you need to make sure your phone is fully charged all day carry a back up charger because there is no physical key( app controlled only). But this is a problem since my 2 yr s iPhone battery needs replacing and took mother to dinner and my phone died and we couldn't leave had to find bd a place/person who had aloha for kend us their power bank do this cost us an hour and we were Kate getting the car back and to add insult we had to pay a late fee. Also the car had Jess than a quarter tank when we picked it up! So remember to fill before return if less!. Also the Bluetooth is spotty if it n it underground parking like Pali Momi location. You can wate ten minutes trying to get that car open. The cars were immaculate and the local cUstomer service was great! But since the pandemic non existent! Cars aren't always clean. One time no gas card in car had to end my trip early. Once we got locked out of the car after a late showing movie and has to call for help and answering service opened the car but we waited 2 hrs for a tow truck snd we were subsequently kate returning the car and my 79 yr old mom was cold and tired waiting to go home poor thing! And again we were chArged for being late! So advice font be late! Good things: 1. No proof of insurance required. 2. No deposit required. 3. Free gas card available too! 4. One can rent by 1/2 hour increments. Bad things: 1. Spotty WiFi 2. Non-existent local Customer service post pandemic or after 4pm. Doesn't seem to care for out of Honolulu market! I'm inbetween cars because of post pandemic lack of new cars and greedy dealer mark/ups so waiting for done stasis! Do I live Ewa side snd no cars only one. For the growth area of Kapolei and Ewa Beach. Have requested a car be placed in Ewa at either Safeway shopping center or Ewa beach shopping or town centers. A'ole m!. Also the Ko'olina cars are gone from Golf course m. So it seems that Hui only cares for urban Honolulu and da but s gets slighted! . Oh and sometimes filthy cars. This is one from Tokai University full of sand food wrappers and water bottles even coconut woven souvenirs from a luau. Most likely tourist! They need more locations in suburbs and better local customer service not just a eunic answering service who aren't authorized to do Jack! You'd think if I was locked out of the car Kate night they could open the door.

    I doubt if you’ll get a refund. Different model cars have different pricing. And different locations charge more or less than others.

    No, the price you see on the app is the price you pay

    According to a very reliable travel video that I watched, you can cancel one hour before pickup without charge.

    I was backing into a tight spot in my parking lot and crunched the rear passenger panel - not too…read morebad, but enough to cause pretty significant damage. Initially, I thought going to a local shop would be easiest since I live in Kaka'ako and there are tons of shops around me. I stopped by several places within a block of my house, but they all said they don't work on Teslas. I was kind of in a bind. That's when I found Unibody Tech Collision. They're one of only three body shops in the area that work on Teslas specifically. The guy at their location was super nice, though his shop is more of a holding facility - the actual work gets done at another location about 15-20 minutes away toward the airport. I thought dealing with Enterprise for a rental car was going to be a hassle and a pain, but I was wrong. They called me a couple weeks after our initial contact, and the whole repair process took about 5-6 days (the total timeline was about a month and a half from start to finish). Insurance covered everything except my $500 deductible. Throughout the process, they texted me status updates, which was really convenient. The best part? I was supposed to pick up my car at 4 PM, which would have charged me an extra day on the rental. Instead, they had it ready for me on Christmas Eve at 9 AM - talk about going above and beyond! The pickup process with Enterprise was smooth as hell, and they were awesome too. The job Unibody did was phenomenal. My car looks beautiful - you can't even tell there was damage. I would highly recommend these guys if you need Tesla body work. They're great at what they do.
