    Cali Vegi w/ tuna

Sounded very good, I was disappointed because I ordered the Cali Vegi with Tuna but very little tuna. Although the flavor was very good! Very skimpy on the Tuna. Also, they had very little avocado

at the end tasted like mayo and rice

Very disappointing. The bowl is somewhat gross. So I got the Lei Poke Bowl. What I don't like about the bowl. Too much mayo Rice was mushy avocado made it worse along with the mayo. Hardly any protein (salmon). Tiny This would be one of the most expensive poke bowl I ever had due to the size and content in it. So the Lei Bowl had so much mayo that I felt like by eating it, I am going to gain a lot of weight. It looked so unhealthy and gross at the end. To the point, I couldn't handle it. On top, they said the seasoning is not spicy even though the board showed a chili pepper beside the item. It was spicy. The salmon was cut into super tiny pieces that when it touches the warm rice it automatically cooked itself to the center. See my photo for the tiny salmon. For $12 and the taste. Never coming back.

    Kids bowl

Visited: March 29 2019 Decided on a whim and ordered lunch on an app. I've never tried poke bowls before so after quickly browsing through the menu, I chose safely and ordered the $5 kids bowl. I can tell y'all are judging me here but in my defence, I wasn't all that hungry and wanted a light lunch. The kids bowl consisted of coconut rice blend (or sushi rice), pineapples, red peppers, cukes and edamame. It came with a splash of ginger sesame sauce (or ginger tamari sauce if you prefer) on the bottom of the bowl (underneath the rice) Pickup was a breeze, the food was ready by the time I got there. On the side table, there were some black and regular sesame seeds that I can add to the bowl. I did that and it added some texture and a bit more flavour. I really liked the overall taste of the bowl, it's super clean tasting and it felt like a very healthy lunch. The small bowl of rice was surprisingly filling and satisfying. Definitely will go back and try their other menu items. Ordered: Kids Lil'Lei Poke Bowl $5 (dairy & gluten free)

Unfortunatly I can't say this is one my favourite poke places. They don't seem to have the option to create your own bowl. So I recently tried the Lei bowl which was a salmon poke with microgreens, spicy peas, avocado, cucumber, pepper strings and furikake. The flavour was good but I didn't really think the kale work too well in the bowl and it seemed like the bowl was mostly filled with greens. It is located at a convenient location inside pacific center though which makes it a easy quick meal for those working in the area!

Looking back at the menu, I think they may have given me the wrong bowl. I did talk to the food preparer and he recommended the Tiki. However, I decided on the Nikkei instead because it seemed less spicy. The bowl I received had cucumbers and crispy onions. No sign of the citrus tastes and avocado I was looking forward to. Nice staff, but be vary of small portions. It is 2/3 or less of a regular poke bowl in downtown.

I'm one of the regulars and their food is consistent everyday. Busy location, so if you work in the area, better to avoid crowd and ordering before or after the rush hour

Good service but portions are almost nonexistent. For $12 bowl I expect more. Other local poke spots around downtown have larger physical bowls to start with. Hula Poke has smaller bowls and barely fill them halfway. Nothing special about the bowl either.

I didn't expect to find much good quality food at SFU, but I was wrong. You just need to walk…read morearound for a bit. This 4 seat poké bar was better than I hoped for. I made my own bowl, which is always a lot of fun. First time I've had quinoa as a base, but let's give it a go! I think I went for most of the items, except for the ones where you had to pay extra. The tuna I got was fresh, as were the other ingredients. I went wild on adding sauces at the end. I designed a great concoction. I didn't get a seat at 3pm on a Thursday, so I had to walk back to campus to eat it. A quick thing I learned the hard way, if you want quinoa, use a spoon. Overall, friendliest staff I've met on campus, delicious choices, and quick service.

This week's delivery of choice: Steve's Poké Bar! Way back…read morebefore COVID was in existence, my coworkers and I would grab poke pretty frequently from Steve's Poké Bar for lunch at Lougheed. We all loved having this as a lunch option because it's, well, relatively more nutritious and clean than say, burgers or fried Vietnamese spring rolls. So, my bro and I decided to give the SFU location a try and waiting in steady anticipation for our custom poke bowls. The food came relatively quickly and the portions are still quite generous but...the sauce department was lacking. We both felt like there wasn't enough flavour to the poke, and the plain white rice was starting to overtake the delicious toppings. It was a bit different from my past experiences with the Lougheed location. Anyways, still got my poke fix, though I may lean towards trying Pokey Okey more next time haha
