As a frequent hotel guest I am used to lousy food and poor service in many hotels but this place is doing things ringht. Prompt and courteous service from the young man acting as host to the bartender and the server. Burger was perfectly medium rare with crisp and tasty bacon. Salad was fantastic and fresh. Brussels sprouts were perfect. Reasonable but elevated prices but fairly reasonable at $40 including generous tip. We will be back. read more

Disappointed to say the least. We came here on a very rainy Sunday looking for a new place to try and we basically ran out. I ordered the veggie "panini"... what I got was a bunch of giant cut up pieces of cooked zucchini stuffed into a hot dog roll with already hardened cheese on it!!! It was $13.50. I've gotten the same type of sandwich from five guys for $5!!! And the five guys was sensationally better !! On the menu for the sandwich it mentions mushrooms, eggplant, onions, arugula etc. there was no such thing on this sandwich just a bunch of ice cube sized pieces of zucchini that didn't even fit or stay in the sandwich. My boyfriend got the "honey sriracha"??? Chicken sandwich. It was a piece of plain chicken drenched in barbecue sauce ...no honey or sriracha in sight. With an overly massive heap of cole slaw on top. Wanna know how much it cost?? $17!!!!! YIKES who is managing this place and who is their chef because both gotta go. The fact they even let these atrocities pass through the kitchen doors is baffling. And to go further to suggest the two together are worth $30 it's quite amusing. Our server (the bartender since we sat at the bar) was surprising as well. She looked at us maybe twice and that was when she took our drink order and our food order other than that we didn't exist. We sat after getting our ugly food for about 5 minutes while it got even colder waiting for silver ware. We ended up having to get our own silverware off of a table. She never noticed. And let me be clear she was only a few steps away from us and still impossible to get her attention. Definitely Quincy best kept secret and the best way to spend your Saturday night for $19.99 One word though, they do tend to overcook the prime rib. If you are used to medium rare steak, ask for rare here. As far as the decor goes, the renovation has added a nice touch of higher end bistro feel to the restaurant. I'm glad that they are still continuing the $19.99 AYCE prime rib tradition on Friday and Saturday night. Get a white wine sangria with your meal. They are delicious. read more

I was happy to find Hull & Mason while staying at the Marriott for a business trip. Usually you don't find a place this hip in a hotel. I'd like to give it 3.5 but Yelp doesn't offer that. 3 is too low.. it is better than that, so I settled on 4. Twice fried chicken wings: Pretty good quality wings and nice portion. But NO seasoning. I understand that they are serving plain wings and you are supposed to use the sauces but cmon.. you gotta season the wings a little bit. Also, I didn't like whatever sauce they gave me. Fried Chicken Burger: VERY good! Seriously, it may have been the thickest, highest quality piece of chicken I've gotten as a burger. Very solid. I can't tell if you the Spicy Balsamic Aioli is any good. I couldn't taste it. I recommend you ask for more on the side. Green Beans with Crispy Shallots: Good. Nice portion. Not overly salted or seasoned, the way vegetables should be. Nothing to complain about. Crinkle Cut Fries: Meh. Just ordinary fries. A bit undercooked. Not bad though. I recommend you order them well done. They forgot to include the fries & dill pickle with my takeout order. They made it right though. I called down to room service and Hull sent someone up to my room to deliver the fries & pickle. Again, this place is certainly one of the better hotel restaurants I've come across in my business trips. On a cold November night, there is no need to travel out to a restaurant in town. Perfect meat temperatures of your choice served with asparagus and baked potato. First cut is about 10 ounces. Good portion for the average person. 2nd portion is also about 10 ounces. 3rd piece is about 6 ounces. First 2 portions were nice and tender. 3rd piece was a little tough and just as tasty. My wife and I are local residents and were looking for somewhere close by that did not have a wait to get seated. After checking a few other choices we decided to try this location since I have seen other friends dine here. No problem getting a seat, as another reviewer said the drink menu was limited to wine and not much else even though the website indicates otherwise but they do have a full service bar and offered the selections on tap when asked. The menu entrees were limited to six choices and there is a burger section. Both are priced about 1.5-2X of what I was hoping for but then they are a hotel restaurant which my experience has almost always found on the higher priced end. They had a prime rib special that was a good buy at $23.95 so we both ordered that. The Prime Rib was favorable and had minimal fat. It came with a good sized baked potato and good portion of asparagus. We would eat this meal again but did not find much reason on the rest of the menu to make this a go to location. read more

BEWARE!! The staff was okay but they are under new management and the kitchen appears to currently be a mess. They also don't have a drink menu at the moment, although the staff and bartenders will try their best to make anything you ask for. However it took more than an hour for our order of charcuterie, brussel sprouts (which literally included 4), a burger and a kid's pizza to come out, and within that hour we pretty much never saw our waitress out on the floor to ask her what was happening with our food. When the "kid's pizza" came it was a puff pastry that fell apart under its own weight, something that was noted neither on the menu nor by our waitress, and naturally the 3-year-old in question wanted no part of it. Another table had a standard-looking piece of cheese pizza for their child, so we asked for that instead, and the kitchen sent out a margherita flatbread with fresh tomato slices and no sauce, again, not what we had ordered. When we inquired AGAIN about the pizza the other table had, a manager finally told us that the other table had received the last kid's pizza they had (at barely 6pm), so they had been substituting other things for us. It MIGHT have been nice to know that BEFORE making a hungry 3-year-old wait more than an hour for random things that were not what we originally ordered!!! To be fair, the waitress informed us that she just asked for the "kid's pizza" and no one in the kitchen told her there were any issues either, but it's clear that there's both a lack of awareness of what their actual menu is and a lack of communication between the staff. The drinks were okay but the rest of our experience was pretty terrible, and I would advise making the long trek down the hill from the isolated hotel (even if you have to do it by foot!) before ever eating in their restaurant again for anything beyond basic breakfast! Also the charcuterie board which was $22 claimed to be meats and cheeses. It was the saddest board I've ever seen. Literally 1 square inch of cheese was provided with 4 kinds of meats and 3 little slices of baguette. A total rip off all around. After all this we still had to go out and get a Happy Meal from McDonald's because this poor kid was starving. read more

As mentioned in other reviews, Hull & Mason has gone through a renovation phase as did the entire lobby area of the Marriott Quincy, although the bar area is much nicer that it was before, both the menu and the restaurant area have paid the price. What used to be a great menu has been reduced to standard "hotel chain" burgers with a couple of dinners thrown in for good measure. The star is still the all you can eat prime rib on certain nights which is a bargain, but noting else is just ordinary. We had a small group of 6, 4 of which had the prime rib, those that had it were divided in their opinion's, some liked it, others thought is was "meh". I had the prime rib sandwich which was French dip style, unfortunately the sandwich was so soggy before it was dipped it just fell apart and i had to eat it with a knife and fork, which ins't a problem if its good, but this was so-so. Others that got the grass fed burger liked it and the crinkle cut fries although of the frozen variety were nice and crisp. Service was excellent and the place was spotlessly clean so it passes the hotel test, if i was to go back again i'd sit in the bar area, much better vibe, but i doubt i'd be eating there unless i had no other choice.. read more

The food is so-so. I am currently staying here for a few days. My food is often cold and not fresh at all. The prices are ridiculous for what you get, but when you have no car and it's 30F outside, walking elsewhere is out of the question. The wine list is decent. Service has been not so great. There is a Starbucks inside the restaurant, which is cool, but the line is always 7-10 people deep with one person working behind the counter. This used to be a place worth the visit. Used to. Back in the good old days of just a few weeks ago this wonderful establishment offered one of the best deals on the South Shore, all you can eat prime rib. Now you're thinking to yourself... "all you can eat? It must be terrible meat." You'd be wrong. Top quality prime rib that came with a salad and two sides. This was a Friday and Saturday night special. However, that is no more. I think it was $20 at that time and now it's $30 for one slice that was less superb than the good old slab in all you can eat. It's a sad day, to say the least. Remember when you had your first goldfish as a child and you found it floating? Well to hear the prime rib special is no longer an option because "new management didn't like it" is twice as sad as Fred floating at the top of tank. Twice as sad. With all that in mind, I'll give this place two stars. The mashed potatoes are great even though they had to ask the manager if it would be alright to replace the baked potato for the mashed. Come on, clean it up management. We all know mashed is what's up. Baked potatoes are just a sad excuse for a side. I mean what is a baked potato really? Throw them in a pot, smash 'em up and add some butter. It takes like 3 minutes. Who's running this place? You're ruining a fantastic establishment. Also, says a lot when all the waitstaff are disappointed about new management, the confusion in the kitchen, and are saddened about losing all their old customers. A bad day for Quincy. A bad day for Marriott. A bad day for humans. The rich get richer and the less rich get less meat. A return is questionable. I'm sure there are better places out there that appreciate the customer and appreciate a good thing. This restaurant just opened so I was excited to check out a new local spot. However I was severely underwhelmed. I got the salmon, which is at a $25 price point. Salmon was good sized but was served with basically mayo drizzled on top with cafeteria style potato wedges and mini Russel sprouts (4 to be exact). My boyfriend got the "grass fed" main burger at $14 price point which is reasonable, if it wasn't smaller than a quarter pounder a lot McDonalds. Don't go, huge rip off. read more
