What a great company! The employees are very nice and informative. Aaron came out and gave me an estimate on the repair or replacement of a roof for my studio. He gave me options and advice on what to do. Since the roof wasn't in bad shape. We decided to go with a repair instead of a replacement. The superintendent, Kyle called and we set up a date and time for the work to commence. I met the roofers on the scheduled day. They were early (how refreshing)! I had questions the day of and the man in charge answered all my questions. The roof looks great! The area was cleaned before they left. I spoke to Lori (in the office). What a great and happy lady. We used Hull and Sons Roofing in the past for a repair on our business roof. So we call them for a re-roof quote on our home. The quote we received was in the same ball park area as other company's, but they showed up on time and the follow up was much better. They arranged the removal of our solar, then they took the tiles off and re-roofed in two days. Then the solar was reinstalled. They added several vents to the roof, required by new codes. The replaced 4 sky lights with a bronze color to match the composition roof we chose. They did a great job cleaning up, I just can't say enough about how happy we are. read more

After reading favorable reviews & considering, the years of experience for this company, we decided to use them to replace our roof. OMG; what a mistake! The first day; the roof was stripped & left uncovered. During the night; it rained! Needless to say; the wood was soaked & now, they couldn't continue, with the roofing job. Materials got switched on us; we were finding nails all over our yard, way after, the job was completed. And; they damaged the eaves all around our house & refused to fix it! Even after; the owner said they would fix the damage, it still, looks so bad. And WE bought the paint, for them, to fix it! Then; we couldn't get a copy of the building permit! I don't like to leave negative reviews so I waited quite a while to post this however I feel like I need to share this information. I had a very bad leak in three places in my home. I knew I needed a new roof but also knew that I cannot possibly afford one this year. I called Hull And Sons based on positive yelp reviews and the fact that they are local. I was impressed initially with their professionalism and what seemed to be some knowledge. The gentleman who came out inspected the roof and confirmed what I knew: that I needed a new one. He also knew I could not afford one and gave me three options. The least expensive (but still very pricey) option was a roofing tarp to cover the whole roof which he said he thought would last for about a year. I thought that might give me enough time to come up with money for a new roof and I agreed. When the men came to install the tarp they told me that they didn't know that my air conditioning condenser was on the roof and asked if I would be "needing it". I was dumbstruck. Of course I need it. They then came back a few minutes later and said they found a way to work around it. Good I thought. The next big rain storm hit and the leak was still there. Water continued to pour through the roof. I contacted the company and to their credit they sent somebody out who poured some more mastic around the leaky area and wished me well. There was one more rain storm and the tarp held. Good. In the few months since then though the tarp has completely shredded and has been falling off of my roof into my front yard and my atrium creating quite a mess. When I pick it up it is very thin and brittle and crumbles in my fingers. I need to acknowledge now that I agreed to this job with no guarantee which was my stupidity. I will never make that mistake again. The job was extremely expensive (in my world anyway) and I had told myself I was not paying for materials but for their expertise. So much for that. I am going to paste the exact email that I sent to the gentleman who had been helping me all along, letting him know about the issue. I sent this two weeks ago and have had no reply. I am not demanding anything. I am not asking for a refund which I realize I am not legally entitled to. All I really wanted was some acknowledgment. Maybe an apology? Maybe a "oh wow, that hasn't happened before". Just... Something. But there has been absolute silence. These people may be very good at putting roofs on homes but they have not treated me well and have in fact created a great big huge mess as well as a big hole in my bank account. Fortunately there is quite a bit of time before the next rainy season and I can find someone to put a tarp up correctly. And almost certainly for a fraction of what they charged me. Here is the email I sent: (Name withheld)...I would like you to watch the attached 21 second video which shows the current condition of our roof with the remnants of the tarp that your company installed only a few months ago. I am also attaching a screenshot in case you were not able to play the video. As you will see it is completely shredded and has been snowing down in our yard and atrium. When we touch the fabric it crumbles in our fingers. It is incredibly thin and brittle. I understand that I agreed to do this without a guarantee which was my mistake. However you did tell me that you expected this temporary fix would last for about a year. It lasted for only a few months. I'm very disappointed and would like to hear your thoughts. read more

If you hire this company, don't let the crew start without the supervisor present. Because if you do, they will try to take every short cut possible and hope you won't notice. These guys price wise were reasonable compared to other roofer's estimates. Aaron came out and seemed knowledgeable. Told me what was included and what to expect. Total feel good estimate and confidence with this company. It all went south very quickly from day one when there was confusion as to what actual termite repairs were to be made before re-roofing started. No supervisor was sent day one. One guy was clearly upset that he had to do more work than expected. The repairs were about the same quality as if my jack of all trades Uncle had done the work himself. It appeared as though the theme for all three days was "close enough." Poorly fitting spot repairs. And the kicker, despite the "cleanup everyday" statement in their literature, they left behind multiple nails, Grip-Rites, large staples, discarded old shingles on my lawn, bushes and flung into my neighbor's yard. Razor sharp trimmed and discarded pieces of drip edge were found all over the side and front lawn. The last day, these guys worked the fastest when they were trying to leave by 3:15 PM. It was also the only day ANYBODY knocked on my door to inform me of anything regarding updates. "We're done!" The whole reason I took the time to interview and get estimates from roofing companies was to receive quality work. I am very worried about the first big rain or damage from rain that slowly shows up after years later. After voicing my complaints, Kyle came out and looked over the shoddy workmanship. He brought the crew back and corrected EVERYTHING wrong. Now the roof edges are straight, gaps where incorrectly sized boards were used, and incorrect slopes were all taken care of. I didn't get any lame excuses or talked down to. Kyle was willing to do whatever it took to make things right. Despite the corrected efforts, I'm just a little disappointed that it all could have been avoided and ran much smoother had a site supervisor been present to babysit the workers. I'm hoping this is only unique to me and not commonplace. Judging by the overwhelming rave reviews Hull & Sons have on Google and Yelp, I must have been the only lucky one to have received an unfortunate occurrence. read more

Foreman Juan came out to repair my Tile roof 2wks ago arriving at 8:15 am & completing the job at 2:30pm. Juan was Very Professional valuing my privacy and did a Terrific job on my tile roof from beginning to ending w/cleanup. My favorite is Debbie who is Amazing, I really do appreciate all the expedited correspondence she sent to me for my records. Overall, everyone I dealt with (Aaron, Kyle, Juan & Leigh) at this company are Wonderful & Super Professional. Terrible!!!! The homeowner's association hired this company to roof our unit. The men said they didn't THINK It was going to rain so they left the roof uncovered. It poured rain and water filled the attic and ran through everything electric. It was so bad that water poured out of the ceiling fans and other light fixtures. Needless to say, everything had to be replaced. Carpet, fixtures, dry walling EVERYTHING! I won't even go into the inconvenience! Hull and Sons just completed a roof restoration on a commercial/industrial property I own and manage. For me, this was a big project. I had a bid from one company that told me a rebuild of the roof was the only way to go. I had another that asked me what I wanted to do as if I was the expert and did not deal with the HVAC units (I have 11 units on the roof). Cody came out, walked the roof, and gave options, many options, and papered and explained each option. He also patiently answered my ignorant questions as I knew nothing about roofing. In the end, I elected to go with Hull and Sons based on the professionalism Cody displayed. During the job, Kyle kept me informed and updated on the progress. The job is now finished and it looks awesome! Obviously though, the purpose of the roof is not aesthetics but to guard against the elements. Until we get more rainstorms, the roof can't be tested. Based on my experience with them thus far, I have no doubt Hull & Sons will address any issues that arises under their warranty. A shout out to the HVAC subcontractor that they use as well. They do not stand behind their work. I hired them Mar 2014 to do a roofing repair for a leak. Last weeks rain in riverside revealed that the repair I paid for did not fix the leak. When I called them I was informed the repair they said would fix the leak was not covered under their warranty and I would have to pay for additional repairs. Being a new home owner, re-roofing was something I wanted forego as long as possible. Unfortunately, with last years storms I didn't want to take a chance and wanted to get this process done before the rainy / winter season arrived. Having received a couple of estimates from other Roofers. I felt really comfortable with the estimate that Aaron provided. After signing off on the estimate and providing the deposit is were the FUN started. I worked with the inside office dispatcher, Debbie, to schedule the date for the re-roofing. Once we set the date I asked her specifically if there was anything I needed to do prior before the installers start. Her response, "No nothing really, just wait for Kyle, the foreman, to give you a call." Ok, this should be pretty straight forward. About two days before the the re-roofing, still no phone call for the foreman. The day finally arrives for the tear-down. And..NO ONE SHOWS UP! I call the office and Debbie sounded unaware of the scheduled date. She has to call Kyle regarding the install. Of course I get the run around answer, "Sorry, the rain from last week pushed us back on our previous job and we can't make it until next week". I'm not sure and don't know why no one could have called and update a customer? But at this point, what can I do? I can't cancel this job because I would have to wait for another roofer to schedule in an installation. Another day is scheduled for the tear-down, I ask again, is there anything needed for me to do prior? They tell me nothing needs to be done. FINALLY, the day comes and the crews working on the roof. I come back home and go into the garage, and this is were the disappointment of going with this company. My entire garage is littered with debris / granules from the tear down. Luckily I didn't have my car parked inside the garage that day because it would have been covered with the granules. I was beyond upset due to spending this large amount of money to expect this type of workmanship. I called the estimator Aaron about the matter, and he had not much a care for what happened. He did say he would have his guys come with a shopvac and help clean the mess. In my head, why would I want total strangers in my garage cleaning. After texting Aaron photos of the mess, he had little to no sympathy for the incident. I had to spend about 2-hours sweeping and vacuuming the granules. On top of that I had to go to Home Depot and buy tarp to cover the entire garage so this incident wouldn't happen again. After the tear down was completed. I was informed by Aaron that the installers would be coming back in 2 days. At this point, what can I do. But what do you know, 2 days comes and NO SHOW AGAIN! No Phone call. I had to contact Kyle regarding why no one was working on the roof. Again, I get the run around. We are at another site and need to finish up this project. SERIOUSLY?! I had to tell him that it was not acceptable and the job NEEDS to be finished before I had guest come over. And this was the only bright spot, he did send out two guys to prep the reroof to finish the job. After about a 1-week ordeal, the roof was complete. Long Story Short: - Prices are reasonable - The estimator Aaron will be a nice guy in the beginning but leave you hanging once you sign the contact. Got a $2250. proposal from Ron to fix leak in my patio cover. They performed the work and was paid in full at completion of work. First rain it leaked. they came back 3 times, it continued to leak. I was told Ron under bided the Job. they came out a 4th time with shingles and plastic sheeting and other materials, started the work. without completing the work and leaving all the materials on the Patio cover, they left saying they would be back the next day. Here it is a year later, cover still leaks, materials were still on the patio cover. called them several days ago, Kyle was going to call me. no calls yet. Thank you Hull and Sons for a successful project! I have a 20 year old commercial building that had several leaks, I figured with it being 20 years old we'd have to put a new roof on it. Hull and Sons was the third estimate I collected and they offered two solutions for our project. The first was to replace it and the second was to restore it using a roof coating system. Both options were energy efficient but after an in depth conversation with Cody Hull (one of the owners) we decided the roof coating system would supply us with the warranty and service we were looking for. Kyle Hull (the project manager and the other owner)was very helpful with scheduling the project around a vacation I had previously had planned. After 7 days on the job my roof project was complete and I couldn't be happier.
