Best French fries EVER...that's not the beer talkin

They don't brew there own beer anymore apparently but the wings and sweet potato fries are good

.. All about the Double IPA... An their sampler appetizer is pretty bomb.... 16 bucks but way more food than a normal person can handle... Wings, Mozz Sticks, Fries, O-Rings,Chicken Tenders, and Fried Shrimp.. And 4 dipping sauces....All in all about two pounds of yummy....Another must stop for any traveller in the Lost Coast.... Neat place with a pretty good beer selection. My beef is with the hours. Their website says open till 11, kitchen until 10. We showed up starving at 930, kitchen was closed, and they were shutting the place down, chairs going on tables, etc. I would have loved to grab some food (which seems pretty well rated) and sink a few more of the beers, but we only managed to squeeze in one pint each before the shutdown. If you're going to close at arbitrary times, just say that in your info. read more

Food was disappointing & overpriced. They charge for condiments. $1 for a tiny tub of ranch. Plus...there's No baby changing table in restrooms. read more

I've been here a bunch of times and always enjoy it. Good food, good beer, good service... what else could you ask for? The menu can be a bit on the pricey side though. I usually order from the appetizer menu. They have the best chicken wings and nachos in town. read more

Love the new menu, but the service has been terrible each time I've gone in since the remodel. All I wanted was a fresh catch sandwich, but after waiting at a table for 10 minutes without being seen by a server, I took my business elsewhere. Hopefully they get it right next time--bad service can really ruin a meal. read more

Absolutely love this place! As far as breweries in Hum County go this one has em' all topped. I think the reason this brewery is beyond the others is definitely for its music venue in the back room. Hum brews puts on some really great music shows and the room is great for dancing and chillin' the sound is amazing in that room and there is never a dull show. The great thing is that you can make a great night out of it if you time yourself right by eating a great meal at the restaurant out front, drinking some good beer and catching a good show! Their burgers and wings are awesome as well as their fish tacos. Another awesome detail is that they have malt vinegar in the ketchup caddy which my husband loves to stather his fries in! I do have to say though for memories sake, about 10 years ago my buddy found a bread tie in his veggie burger.... he told the cook and the cook gave us all a free round and was very apologetic. read more

I wanted to combine my supper with a show. Went there to see Sister Spit company and have a meal. The waitfolks are very good, nice and efficient. The food, not so much. It was clean but very dim lighting...and several damn TV's with sports crap. I had the 'shroom burger with peppers...boring. The fries are much worse...tasteless and over cooked. Side salad was just OK. After my meal (awful) I had a lemonade while I waited for the show to start...too much sugar, not enough lemon. Everything was overpriced...burger w/fries--$13. Onion rings--$12. Not worth it. Thank goodness the show was terrific so the night wasn't a total loss. HERE'S MY SUGGESTION....If going there for a show or for just a meal by itself, go to STAR'S BURGERS. Also grass fed beef but waaaaay better tasting. STAR'S BURGERS onion rings are terrific. I can have a delicious burger with onion rings there for a little over $8---with senior discount of 10%. Humboldt Brews may be a good place to go for just beer but don't eat there. read more

The ratings for this place are way too high. The servers were good and attentive but their lackluster recommendations for food were my first warning flag. This place has a decent selection of brews but there's no shortage of good beer in this town. The food is standard college fare, out of the freezer and into the fryer. I bet this place was great at one time, but that time has passed. I left after one beer and an appetizer. read more

Started off with a 2 hour wait. Hour and a half for a table followed by a half hour for a server to take any kind of order. After finally talking to a server, they tell us our group of 10 can only split the check 3 ways. Very inconvenient and caused our group to split between the table and the bar. The food here is usually pretty good but only if you can handle the exceptionally bad service. read more

This place has great food and beer. Went here with my family on quest to find a great brewery on Yelp. -1 star for no longer brewing the beer at the on site location and the $15 cover charge however they do have some great bands coming through. Great burgers! Good food. Good places for music and comedy shows. But it is loud in there and always dark/ weird lighting. Some times some of the wait staff is weird about splitting up checks... then other times they are okay about it. It's just annoying for my group of friends because we are always half expecting for it to be an ordeal. If you split the check when we ask politely we will leave bigger tips for not having to deal with all the confusion! I know that this is probably a management issue but just thought i'd put it out there. read more

To me this is easily the best brew food in Humboldt county. I agree that the prices are a bit higher than some of the other local breweries but lets face it... you get what you pay for. Portions are huge and you will never leave hungry. The quality of the food is higher than you would expect at a brew pub. I am a regular and the waiters know my order when I come in and these days this is something that is hard to find. This is a great casual place to meet for dinner after work or take friends on the weekends. read more

The grilled fish sandwich was awesome. Except for one thing, the buns were way to tough. It felt like I was biting into a soft pretzel every time. The cole slaw was plain but was remade to taste more like a real slaw. Great place for lunches. read more

My food was delicious, beer battered mushrooms and fish and chips. It was phenomenal. But my friend, whom I was with, had a terrible experience. She got the chicken wings and they were under cooked, and almost raw. It was gross and she didn't feel well the rest of the night. The waiter was kind enough to take her meal off of the bill. In town for the night and got in late. We called 5 minutes before the kitchen closed and they allowed us to place order for pick up, which was awesome!! When we got there we really enjoyed the atmosphere all around. Really good beer on tap and a great variety. The food was VERY good, and we ate it there. Very nice staff too and good cooks! Had I written this review last year, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. Humbrews used to be a lot cooler before they gave it a major facelift... the food is AWFUL (and I mean awful...they couldn't even get the fries right!) They got my order all wrong, as well as my friend's and didn't offer to re-do it or take it off the check when I told the waitress about it. To their credit, they do have a great beer selection on tap. Just don't order food there...Six Rivers has much better food if brewery food is what you're looking for. All in all, Humbrews has good beer but bad food and bad service :( read more

Love it when Collin is the bartender; quick service and always friendly. On the other hand, we will not return when Robin is the bartender. She treated us as if we we were in the way...she actually sat down at a table with some people and completely ignored us. We had to flag down a server to take our order. I dont want Humbrews to go away...thats for sure. I got my pet-peeves with the place...the industrial decor, the cavernous, sad, show-room, higher prices, only 1 pool table...but there are nights this place was nice to be at when 'bar row' is just not working. Booooooooo Humbrews. Horrible service. It was 9:35 when we went to try to grab something to eat and no one asked for our order until about 9:50. She insisted that the kitchen had been closed since 10. Umm, lady it is currently 10 till 10 and we've been sitting here for a while now... She proceeded to give us a very emotional rant about how we weren't even her 'section' and we had to appeal to her manager if we wanted food. rude rude rude. So we walked out very displeased. The beer here is pretty good, far from my favorite but bad by any means. The food on the other hand was just plain mediocre at best. They do have TV's (many), pool tables and it's spacious enough. I guess the food is typical bar food, nothing special at all. read more

North Humboldt's best music venue, hands down. Great sound, open dance floor, friendly staff, reasonable prices, free water, clean restrooms. It's really everything you ask for, at least if your there to actually listen to the performance! When the place is full and rockin, a cool breeze would be nice, but other then greater air circulation, honestly the only way it could be better would be if they served whiskey! It's just shy of so, as is! Best money you can spend for a live performance in Humboldt County. You will not regret paying for that ticket! read more

Wow. Worst service ever! I can't leave zero stars? We saw the back of the "waitress" several times at nearby tables. It became almost a joke to see how long it would take her to get to us after the first guy left. I suggest trying... Well, anywhere else. read more

We went there at 9:30pm on a Thursday cause the website said they close at 11pm and they told us the kitchen is close, not a good business

Made a reservation at 9:30, was asked to be here at 9:15. We placed our order at 9:40, didn't receive our food until an hour after. The food was burnt stale and we had to send it back. We had a group of 9 and literally had to eat at different times. Not very many options, specifically vegan. read more

I like the crowd at humbrews. Not too snooty (hello, beers, burgers, wings), but not too smelly (like the alibi crowd). Portions are big (maybe too big because I can't keep it all on the plate). Food is relatively healthy (my fried chickien was free range). My server was really chill and offered me a beer sample if I needed help deciding which 8 dollar pitcher I wanted (a "Thirsty Thursday" special I read about in the menu later). Well this was a disappointment. The place was mildly busy for a Saturday night but nothing too bad. The huge big screen TV was playing the Cal VS UCLA game and the volume was set to ear bleed. That was mildly annoying. The stoned waitress who took twenty minutes to take our drink order was also annoying. The overpowering stank of Humboldt's other main product literally put me off my food and I am not a picky eater. The fact that she left our food on the hot shelf while she apparently went outside and toked up for another twenty minutes was exceedingly annoying. No water refills and no personal service was a bad way to start. My chicken tacos were bleh....cold corn tortillas minute amounts of chicken and some coarse chopped cabbage, not enough food for ten bucks. My buddy had a shroom burger and it looked OK but it is also available at Denny's for half the price. My other friend had the wings and I tried one and it is the soul reason this review is a two and not a one. The wing was nummy. I left a dollar tip. Just enough so she knew that I didn't forget but I think she was too blazed to care. read more

Hands down, the worst service I have ever seen at a restaurant. the first time I went there was for a movie night, which was great. However, when I ordered a $2 beer with my debit card, they automatically assigned their $7 minimum onto it without even saying anything about a minimum. really low stuff. I was stupid enough to go back with my friend on her 21st birthday, where we waited for a half hour for the waiter to stop blowing us off, which would have been fine if they were busy, but there were only maybe 5 other groups there. then they treated us like crap the entire time and gave us our bill immediately after ordering 1 drink, as a way to try to kick us out as fast as possible. I really want to like this place, because it is a great environment and has really good regular music shows, but it just isn't worth getting treated so poorly and ripped off every time. read more
