You know a place is going to be good when it's tucked into a warehouse in a little industrial complex, and the only way to find it are the hand-painted signs saying "Farm Beer" with arrows pointing the way. Nice variety of unique brews here... some sour, some brettanomyces... enjoyed the oud bruin, the sour stout with reishi mushrooms, the hefeweizen with cocoa nibs. Small, experimental place, but some of the best brews we've had in the Humboldt area

Off the beaten path - and a bit hard to find (look for the HR BEER SIGN on the north end of Central ave - just past the Railroad Rd. intersection light - west side of the road) at the AAA sign in the back of an industrial complex - inside a garage/warehouse space all the way in the back - is one of the real hidden gems of the California north coast and behind the Redwood Curtain. Humboldt Regeneration - from seed to glass... that is their greed - this true heirloom brewer literally takes your beer from start to finish and back again. They raise most of the ingredients locally - about a half a mile away, roast, ferment, brew them in house and then after you have drank the finished product - recycle all of the leftovers back to the ground in which they came... old school & world class. A true heirloom Brewer - using cutting edge technology and methodology with old school craftsmanship - brewing mostly Belgium style crafted beers, stouts, IPAs and porter brews - this is about as close as you can get to brewing it yourself but not. These guys are serious about their brews and where everything comes from. A recent stop in Humboldt Regeneration had me sampling seven (7) different offerings the day of my visit - the brew master (Jacob) had produced 200+ different styles of brews in the past year. This unassuming 2 1/2 year old nano brewery has been taking the northwest brewery scene by storm - voted one of the top nano breweries of 2014 in an industry paper. That in itself is impressive as this is a tough category in a very tough competitive market to get recognized in. Based after the CSA (community supported agriculture) blueprint - HR follows that same basic approach - you can buy "shares" into the brewery's "harvest" that allow you x number of growler fills per quarter, bi-annually or annually - depending on the level in which you as the consumer/supporter buy in at. As well they are open to the public - Wednesday through Sunday after 11 am offering tastings to sample and determine your favorites. My personal fav this trip - a sour aged stout... like chocolate with a sour twist at the end - complex and quite tasty. One word - amazing.... A full fight of seven (7) samples the day of my visit ran me 14$ bucks I believe - had to get a growler to go... Humboldt Regeneration is a nano brewery that is well worth the visit and another thing that makes living on the north coast and behind the Redwood Curtain such an awesome place to live. Stop in for a visit, have a taste - grab a growler - Jacob, Eric and Matt are all helpful, approachable and knowledgeable and will make you feel welcome... These guys are Humboldt county. Be sure and tell 'em Doc sent ya and you will get the real "locals" experience! From Seed to Glass - Humboldt Regeneration - Support Your Local BEER Farmer. Well done gentlemen well done - a Solid 5 Star home grown business on the north coast. 00195

Go here. Drink beer here. If you're into beer and you don't stop here - you're not into beer. It's a small place marked with a FARM BEER sign at the turn in. The young man that operates it (I guess owns it) brews the beer, runs the farm that grows everything, and I believe even worked on the tractor the farm uses for 'tractoring'. The selection is amazing especially because it's all made in a beer rig that rolls on a track outside the building when it's time to brew. What do you like? Doesn't matter... he probably brews it. He built the darn beer making think. His dad taught him all about pipes and plumbing. I met him. (He's a retired plumber) He was there drinking beer. Probably got a discount. I had the Rishi Brown. Very, very good. And I bought some to go that's getting popped open tomorrow.

Nano brewery with a huge selection of beer on tap. Lots of interesting beer varieties that you won't find anywhere else. Flights available so you can sample it all! Buy a share in the beer CSA while you are there and take a growler home with you. I love this brewery for its variety, friendly staff, and sustainable farm-to-brewery philosophy. It is a hole-in-the wall spot, go there to hang with locals and get some humboldt grown beer. Dogs welcome. Look for the "beer to go" sign.

Stop by for an amazing beer flight and awesome ambience. Sit among the locals and discuss your favorite or play the provided beer trivia games with your friends. Ask for Matt when you get to the counter. It's a hidden spot- just follow the "beer" signs and you won't miss it!

This place is small and full of passion. The beer is great and the business model and future plans are inspiring.

Sure, the atmosphere is a nano brewery (read: storage shed) but what you may lose in surroundings is more than made up for in the beer.

Both tacos had a decent amount of grilled rockfish in them and they curated a good mix of toppings to complement the fish. I also tried the stinger pizza which wasn't bad, but just alright for the price and quality. The food took a long time to come out, but I guess it's fine because you can drink some beers in the meantime. There's a sign that explains how the place works when you walk in: grab a menu, seat yourself, then order at the counter. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating on a Thursday night.
