Shoutout to the wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable Holly, who assisted us for our visit. Their tea is high-quality, and you can taste the care that goes into crafting each cup. The atmosphere of the shop is welcoming, homey, and the people here are so nice and knowledgeable about the products they carry and offer. Loved seeing the different items for sale that are created by various local artisans, too. There is plenty of cozy seating inside as well as a few dog friendly patio tables outside. The visit was relaxed and enjoyable - really a perfect place to unwind with your favorite cuppa. We thoroughly enjoyed the "Knox Fog" (a delicious take on a London Fog) and the "Butter Pecan Latte" (which was SO GOOD with nutty tones). If you're a fan of tea or looking to try something new, I highly recommend stopping by Tonya Rea's Herbal Tea Shop. You won't be disappointed!

While looking up the best places to try, this place really stood out. It is a small place - not much seating indoors but at least in the summer there are some tables right outside. Matt's service is great - fast and kind. Not to mention his food (biscuits) being so crazy good!! Anything he makes it going to be delicious, just be sure to get to the storefront early enough (right around opening or a few minutes early) so you can get your pick of biscuit type and such. Definitely, definitely, try Matt Robbs if you have the time - it's a local favorite for a reason!

You can tell how much care and love go into each order as they are all handmade by Matt himself as he truly is a one man show. He is genuinely having a blast while making and serving his guests. It's a great atmosphere. With that being said, be prepared to wait, for a long time. We got there about 10 minutes before opening and were about 30th in line. We didn't get our food until an hour later. Just as long of a line when we were done eating as there was when it opened. We were not expecting to wait that long and almost left, but everyone in line said that it is well worth the wait, so we stayed. I'm very glad we did. We went on a Saturday morning in the summer so we took turns checking out the farmers market just a few blocks away to help pass time. Great move there! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Knoxville, this place is delish.

I ordered a standard hot latte no added flavor just 2% milk. What I got was a full bodied, rich and smooth cup of coffee. The roast has no bitterness. Very enjoyable. My wife asked for something sweet hot and they recommended a latte with honey and cayenne. It was just right. Kick of heat and not too sweet. A surprising star of our visit was an apple tart! It paired so well with our coffees. It was fresh and a nice balance of crisp tart and warm apple. We also brought one of our dogs with us and Awaken is very pet friendly. There was also another pet owner chilling at a nearby table. Great stop. We highly recommend Awaken if you are in the area. Be advised that parking is paid in the area.

It has nice large windows that overlook the street and seems like a great place to hang out and get some work done. Parking is a little bit of a struggle but it's to be expected in a denser area like this. I got their speciality honey bear latte iced. It was prepared quickly and was super yummy! The cinnamon and honey flavor was sweet and strong and it had a great ratio of coffee to milk. Would happily order again! My one complaint is service was kind of...icy? I dunno, the barista never approached or asked if I had any questions and just generally gave the vibe that she'd rather not be helping me. It didn't feel very welcoming, but she wasn't outright rude, either. Still, coffee is the most important thing, and in that regard they absolutely delivered!

My husband also really liked his latte. We sat inside and ate some of our goodies. We took the rest home for my mum for Mother's Day. My family loved them, too. Nice space. If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!
