    Falafel sandwich

Food quality is very good. Service very efficient. The ambiance not so nice. As you enter you'll see I think is the kitchen. Looks a little sloppy and unorganized. It is a little too pricy I think it's due to too much food. French fries was saggy and greasy. The sandwich content included a lot of stuff to a point that you can't eat the pita sandwich without utensils. I wish I had a choice not to order the French fries at least I was not offered. I saw the Humus with mushroom was being served and it looked really good. I guess we'll try to dine in next time to get a better assessment and I'll update my review.

Some friends took us here for dinner as they love this restaurant but based on what I had I can't say the same although my wife enjoyed her food. We made reservations and were able to be seated on time. Due to heavy rains the outdoor seats were unavailable even under awning. I had a grilled chicken breast and didn't like whatever sauce they put on it however I must say the well done French Fries were a 10. The hummus was very good and my wife enjoyed her chicken breast skewer and took leftovers home for dinner the next night. The other couple really enjoyed their chicken breast skewer and chicken thigh skewer. Ofer was a helpful server. I suppose I will try coming again since the others really enjoyed their meal and order something else.

Quick and delicious. Consistently wonderful. Anytime I'm in Tarzana I know this is where I'm going. Large portions. The laffa is a must. Service is quick and thorough.

Really enjoyed the food! The hummus with mushrooms was especially delicious, and the service was great.

Some of the best hummus! Tastes like it's been whipped for days. It's so light and fluffy. Ask for the fresh bread with the Za'ataar.

10/8/2024 - This is a Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant. I like the hot Pita and Chef's Shakshuka. The Lamb Skew (two for $44.00 displayed or one at $29.00) is tender, but no taste. The overall experience rating is 3.5 star. All staff are friendly, especially the manager.

Normally I rave about this place. The pita bread though was surprisingly flat this time, no fluff. The roasted eggplant was so so. My girlfriend said it was just as good always but this time it didn't do anything for me. But the mushroom hummus is still one of the all time great dishes.

I was here to celebrate my friend's birthday on 3/11/24. She came once before many years ago and wanted to go back. According to my friend, they have best freshly made bread. The bread was soft and fluffy. It taste great with hummus. The bread was eaten quickly and had to order another one. It was not crowded when we first came in. Then it got super busy during the rush lunch hours. The restaurant has a nice decor. They have dining seating inside and outside. They have plenty of parking and underground. Ordered: My order - Chicken Shawarma- 2 sides dishes - Vegetable rice and Smash Potatoes - Chicken was fresh and flavorful. The food was very generous. Iced Limonana - Minty delicious drink. My friend's order - Mushroom Hummus and Laffa Bread. Dessert - Bavarian Cream - It was very light and in perfect sweet flavor. Don't forget to check-in to get one of the three free desserts.

Most people contribute to a pot luck feast that spans the wide world of food, from hot dogs and chili to baked ziti, tacos, meatballs, fried chicken, Chinese food, and on and on -- including some amazing homemade clam chowder from Mike The Mailman. Bartender Natalie did an amazing job of handling the busy crowd with speed and smiles. There were a couple of other staffers on site to watch the game, and they jumped in when she needed a hand with this or that, but for the most part Natalie captained the bar single-handedly for the duration. Kudos to her. It's true, Super Bowl only comes once a year, so other game days don't have the pot luck feast -- Sugar Mill doesn't have a kitchen, though they're happy to have you bring in whatever food you like and eat it there. Food aside, the crowd and the service are always just what you want, making it the perfect place to relax into at game time as Basketball enters the home stretch and baseball steps up to bat.

I was searching for an elegant dinner spot on yelp and this place popped up. After seeing some pics of the food and the ambience, I quickly made the rezzy and my wife and I were on our way. As you come in, it's like you enter another world -- one of elegance and beauty. You can't help but notice perfect ambient lighting and modern vibes throughout the inside dine-in area and as you enter their huge gorgeous backyard patio, you just know that you're in the right place. The seating area there is massive, with very modern finishes and towards the rear of the patio you have the most beautiful water feature piece, that looks like a human-size vase, with water running down the vase and being met by fire at the base. Just one incredible architectural piece that creates that posh, contemporary ambiance. After taking in the breathtaking design of the spot, we finally sat down and ordered food. We tried the tuna tartare, squash blossoms appetizer and my wife got a seabass entree while I got their highly recommended vodka pasta. All of the food was absolutely incredible, from the freshness of tuna tartare, uniquely wonderful flavor profile of the squash blossoms , to the yummy vodka lumaconi pasta and the most mouth-watering seabass that I've ever tried in my life. I honestly never thought a fish could taste so good. The seabass was charred on the outside and just incredibly soft on the inside. As you barely touch the seabass with the fork, a piece of succulent seabass gets separated simply due to the natural gravity of the fork. The taste is perfect. It's like they somehow cooked it with large piece of butter on the inside. The incredible flavor profile and the consistency of each bite of this seabass, were simply unparalleled. And to add to all this awesomeness, the bed of risotto was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic as well. To finish off our meal, we decided to share their apple tart pastry and it too, was fresh, flavorful and that scoop of ice cream on top, made the pastry just perfect. This place hits a perfect trifecta, with its phenomenal modern design , incredible food and absolutely superb customer service. Our waiter Zach was extremely nice, helpful, attentive and he was just a perfect guide throughout tonight's culinary adventure. My wife and I are more than satisfied and can't wait to come to Casalena again!

It's a small place and the decor didn't really feel like it matched the vibe, and the karaoke set-up was not very good. It was really hard to hear the backing music, even when you were the one singing, but this isn't the type of place that you come to "perform" for karaoke like a lot of other places in LA. It's very casual and low-pressure. Song choices were all over the place (which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing). Late night happy hour menu was decent and they offered it from 9pm on that night, and the place did get packed to standing room only. I had a hard time finding info on what their happy hour was before we went, so I took a picture to share. This was on 2/6/2026. The bartender, Brian, was very friendly, but I realized when looking at the emailed receipt afterwards that he switched one of my sibling's drinks on my tab, and I'm assuming mine got put on theirs. We have the same last name, so I understand the mix-up, but it would have been nice if he just asked about who was who instead of assuming, and it also would have been nice to see an itemized receipt before paying instead of just seeing the dollar amount we owed. Not a huge deal this time, just something that I hope they will keep in mind in the future. For food, my partner was able to get a pizza from a place across the street and bring it back into the bar, and Brian was kind enough to offer extra napkins. For other people with back problems, be aware that their bar stools do have back rests on them, but no cushions. We had a good time, and this bar seems to host special events regularly, which we may go back for eventually if the right one comes up, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back here.

First, parking is rough. And by rough, I mean practically nonexistent. If valet is available, use it. If valet is full, good luck finding a spot nearby. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside and has a great atmosphere for watching a game. The place was packed, but our server was outstanding. Given the crowd, especially during the World Cup match, the service was impressive and easily one of the highlights of the evening. The drink menu offers a large selection of beers and spirits. The cocktails were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the food, it was mostly average. The pork belly tasted more like carnitas, which wasn't necessarily bad, just not what I expected. The cheese balls received mixed reviews at our table. I thought they could have used a little more seasoning, but I was in the minority on that one. The crab cakes were small and, for me, lacked the most important ingredient--crab. Opinions were split at the table, but they didn't work for me. The house chips had a nice texture, although the frying oil tasted like it may have been due for a change. The smash burger was decent but nothing special. The steak frites were okay; I believe it was hanger steak, so take that for what it's worth. The shredded beef sliders were also just okay. Overall, I'd definitely return if I was in the area to watch a game and have a few drinks. The atmosphere and service make it worth a visit. However, if food is your primary reason for going, there are better options nearby.
