Came in with a group of 6 for dinner reservations and the service, food and ambiance were 10/10. They had a deal on wine in which we happily decided to buy a bottle of champagne. The pizza and pastas were perfect and everything was about $15-$25 per meal. Would definitely come back and great spot for large parties!

My wife really wanted to try this place and me and the boys wanted Cheesecake Factory or Davenports but we decided to make her happy. She has been raving about seeing this Italian spot across from AAA and that it always looks packed. We researched and realized it's been there for 14 years and I've never seen it lol. It's because it's so small and that's how we quickly realized why it looks packed. First off, Coral Tree and Mora are the same owner and share the same kitchen so when you see that all the parks are for Coral Tree, it's actually ok to park in those parks. We parked further down to avoid being towed smh. Secondly, the place is very small but romantic and intimate. There were people in there that looked like they were on a date and here we come with two kids complaining that they don't have Shirley temples smh (so sorry). Anyway, we were quickly greeted and got everyone situated. We ordered the: House Focaccia 3/5 - too crispy Tuscan Meatballs 5/5 - that sauce was fire! Insalata Caesar 3/5 - very lemony Rigatoni Alla Vodka 2/5 - plain Faroe Island Salmon - 3/5 - basic Crisped Sea Bass 4/5 -good but very small Cacio E Pepe 4/5 - basic but tasty I thought the food was ok. Some items were amazing like the meatballs and surprisingly The Cacio E Pepe. The salad was maybe a little too lemony and my issue with the sea bass was that it was good but it was so small and thin that I think I had maybe 3 bites. Lastly we ordered the Olive Oil Cake and I was not a fan. It tasted like banana bread or something similar. Overall, I know for a fact my kids will choose anything but this for dinner and I probably wouldn't choose this either. My wife loved the feel and vibe and said she would love to come back on a date night without the kids but she barely ate anything smh. Well I guess I'll come back for the meatballs only. A great meal starts with excellent service. I had a reservation so I was seated right away even though my full party wasn't there. It's a very small restaurant but very beautifully decorated with about five tables and a bar area although they do have an outside patio. The server was very friendly and attentive. We started with wine, of course, and crispy calamari. I have to say this calamari was so crispy, tender and tasty probably one of the better calamari apps I've had. It had not only calamari, but also zucchini and artichoke. For pastas, we got the Cacio e Pepe, carbonara, and the Bolognese. Just delicious. Each bite was so tasty and pasta cooked perfectly. I love eating with people who like to share since you get to taste a lot of dishes and then even go back for seconds. Finished off with the tiramisu, which was a great way to end the meal. Only downside is Parking is very limited. Although they have a parking lot, it is shared with a market and other businesses which also have designated parking spots. Since the restaurant is located on Ventura, there is metered 2 hour street parking, but you may just be walking a distance.

Small and quaint spot for hidden gem of a place for decent italian food. Only thing with the indoor seating is that the benches are way too high for the table. I felt like a dog eating out of a bowl and had to be switched to the patio seating. Very limited parking in the lot. Calamari was delicious and not overcooked with too much breading. Pizza was delicious with a good crisp and quality ingredients. The bass was a bit too oily for me and the vegetables were drenched in the oil. Asparagus was either overcooked or in the oil for too long I dont know. Bread service was... interesting. Focaccia was very thin and almost like a cracker. Would maybe add a bit more in the dough and bake a little less? The star was the tiramisu. Light moist with all of the flavors i want in a tiramisu. Will come back and try the pasta.

Front entrance is small and inconspicuous, but I am a fan of outstanding establishments with inconspicuous entrances.

A friend invited me to join them at this establishment. I honestly was not expecting such a special place. I was merely trying to meet up with a friend. Besides finding my friend, I found an intimate local Italian wine bar with a very classy and sophisticated environment. The parking lot is not large, so it might be the case that you'll need to maybe park on the street curbside, but the walk would not be far. I just appreciated how relaxing and classy this place was. I want to place emphasis on the word "intimate". This place is chill. However, the best part about this establishment might very well be their food. It's a wine bar--and if you're a wine lover, you already know you're not going to have a problem finding a good glass of wine at an Italian wine bar. What I was not expecting was to have a pasta dish that I would find to be remarkable. The "Penne Arrabiatta" was outstanding. Mouthwatering. I look forward to trying more of their menu. The service was excellent. Attentive and responsive. Mora Italiano gets five solid stars from me.

This was the perfect little date spot. The food was amazing and service was quick. We got the salad that started with a P. lol cucumber and tomatoes were so fresh and tasty. The carbonara was my favorite with really thick noodles! Great wine list too!

Tucked into a cozy corner of Encino, Mora Italiano proved that great things often come in small packages. Our family of four enjoyed an absolutely magnificent dinner here, where the charm of the space matched the warmth of the service. We began with a crisp Caesar salad fresh, balanced, and a perfect opener. The pasta lineup that followed was where Mora truly shined: decadent lobster ravioli, pillowy spinach and cheese ravioli in a vibrant pesto sauce, rich carbonara, and rigatoni in a bold cheese-forward cream sauce. Each dish had its own voice, yet all spoke to expert craftsmanship and culinary finesse. Dessert brought the kind of finale that makes a meal unforgettable. Their classic tiramisu was impossibly airy with just the right espresso kick, and the olive oil cake struck a flawless balance between rustic elegance and indulgence. Service throughout the evening was quick, genuinely friendly, and impressively accommodating making us feel truly welcome without being intrusive. Although the space is intimate, it suited our family perfectly and added to the experience rather than detracting. In short: Mora Italiano is a gem. Small in footprint, grand in flavor, and absolutely worthy of a return visit.

I had a great experience at Mora. The service was wonderful 10/10 and the food was delicious. We had a bottle of cab Franc that the waiter recommended I was very happy with. We had the Tuscan meatballs for an appetizer. They were creamy and fresh. We had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and the Spicy Prosciutto pizza. The pizza dough was very good and the pasta was cooked perfect Al dente. The restaurant is very intimate and reminds me of cafes in Europe.

We would give 100 stars!!! The food was delicious! The pomodoro pasta was exceptional and the salmon with the apples was cooked to perfection! Oh my gawd, don't skip on the dessert. The tiramisu was super creamy and scrumptious! The restaurant was nice and clean. There was plenty of parking tonight. Jorge and Corina were amazing! They worked well as a team to bring out food, refill drinks and clean and set up tables for new guests. Definitely a neighborhood gem

If you are a fan of Billy Joel (like me), you may find your "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" in Mora Italiano. Conveniently located in Encino (Ventura Blvd), with easy access and parking (limited). I highly suggest to make a reservation, it gets full very quickly. Small set, great service, plenty of attention, extraordinary wines and authentic Italian food. We had the Crispy Calamari to start, followed with Perciatelli Carbonara and the Ricotta Stuffed Tortellini as well, combined with the waiter's recommendation of ILGrigio Classico Chianti wine - perfect combination. "Whatever kind of mood you're in tonight I'll meet you anytime you want In our Italian Restaurant". Hopefully Brenda and Eddie will visit this lovely restaurant and reconcile. :)

When we arrived they told us that if we order a bottle of wine we would get a margarita pizza for free and of course we went for it. Our server knew his stuff and recommended a smooth wine for us to try. The pizza was delicious and the pasta tasted home made (that sauce is one I'd dip bread in to finish). Only reason I am giving a lower rating is because we sat outside and would have rather sat inside since we made a reservation the day before.

For starters, I think the pours were kind of lacking? Just feels like much smaller pours than I usually get at wine bars. The menu was pretty small, and apparently out of date because a few of the things we were interested in they didn't have that day. We also had like 3x different people serve us, so by the end of it I wasn't even sure who I should be asking for the check. My friend and I sat outside, so maybe the service would be better inside or at least at the bar, but it was just kind of... average at best. I think our waitress was new, so she wasn't really able to answer any questions, and the ones she did answer, ended up being corrected later. Which actually is TOTALLY fine, like I totally understand. But then when she brought our first wines, she accidentally knocked one over or hit it with the other glass or something (it happened fast) but it shattered one of the glasses spilling red wine everywhere, and even a drop on my white shirt!! She was suuuuuuper apologetic, and I can tell she felt bad, and we were not mad. We just kept saying that its okay and accidents happen. She did even bring me soda water for my shirt. Then, we asked if we can do the charcuterie plate with just cheese and no meats (we don't eat pork) and she said sure. She told us the number of cheeses to choose, we did, but then we got a lesser number served to us by a different waiter, and incorrect cheeses. He kindly brought one of the missing cheeses, but informed us that the lesser amount was actually the correct amount for this menu item. Okay, we would have chosen differently had we known that, but alright. Maybe I'm delusional, but between the cheese mixup and the wine spillage (and staining my white shirt), I kind of half expected a little something from them. Like comping one of the four glasses of wine, or maybe an extra little top off or something to say "hey sorry we're a mess today." I would never ASK for it, because as it was I felt bad for the girl who was new, so we just paid (and tipped of course) and left. Overall, its just nothing to write home about...

5* Wine, Food, Service, and Ambiance…read more We loved our experience at this authentic, quaint, and charming wine bar, where everything, from the warm, attentive service to the quality of the food and wine, felt authentic and thoughtful.. It was truly a journey through vintage wines, complemented by an expansive collection of whites, reds, roses, and even beer. There was something for every palate and the selection made the experience feel both intimate and exploratory. What surprised me most was the quality of the food! The risotto arancini was perhaps the best I've had in a long time: crispy on the outside, perfectly creamy inside, and incredibly flavorful. The charcuterie board was another highlight, filled with delightful surprises, including marmelade jam, fava bean chips, quality cheeses, and carefully selected meatss. Every bite brought something different to the table. Overall, this is a charming spot that combines great wine, surprisingly good food and genuinly quality service. The setup is fast-casual style, where you order at the bar and then find a seat. The staff was excellent throughout the visit. They were patient, took the time to answer questions, and did a great job explaining the different wine options. They also let us sample a few wines before deciding, which I always appreciate. I ended up ordering the Rosso Veronese. It was dry overall but had a touch more sweetness than I expected, which made it easy to drink given I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. We also benefited from a special on the wine because it had been featured at an event the previous day. The space itself was comfortable and inviting. We grabbed a spot on one of the couches, which gave the evening a more relaxed feel compared to a typical wine bar setup. Pricing is about what you'd expect for a wine-focused spot. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't feel unreasonable either, especially considering the service and atmosphere. Between the knowledgeable staff, the opportunity to sample wines, and the comfortable setting, I'd happily come back and try a few more selections.

We tried a yellowfin tartare which was great. I got the pasta which was very good, and my wife got the salmon. Salmon was fresh and great, but the broccolini side was ridiculously salty. Service was very good, but my wife wanted the tartare as an entrée and our server, who was honestly lovely, suggested it wasn't large enough for an entrée. Problem was, it was a pretty substantial portion and my wife would have appreciated it as a main. I loved getting to share the tuna, but if she'd have just ordered that, and not added the salmon, I think we both would've appreciated the experience more. A very good wine list, with some really nice wines by the glass - You don't see that often enough - and limited, but interesting beer. Ample parking, 90 minutes free.

For food I ordered the bread and butter that was Shareable and the tuna ahi with chips that was 3/5. It could have been more flavorful. The bread and butter was 5/5 though. Very hot and soft. For the wine I had the Grenache and sparkling rose that was very good!!! My fav two selections. I highly suggest !! The service was really good and pretty fast! We had Yesi as our server and she was very attentive and good personality!! I would like to have her again!! The ambiance is cute and nice surrounded by beautiful plants you can purchase. I will try Cosette again! The parking was expensive in the lot! They only give 90 min free parking after it's a few every hour or min. I had to pay $20, so just FYI.

Outside was a better temp and ambiance so we elected for that . I was expecting wood fired pizza, but they didn't have it unfortunately :( Not a lot of food options here, more of a casual place for a glass of wine.. so we got wine and charcuterie and left instead of dinner as planned. The cheese board was honestly depressing, with the bread being the best thing on there. I wish there was more cheese .. It was a cute place, but I felt a bit bamboozled . We were sat next to a bush , basically directly next to another couple, which felt like we were in their conversation. My car got trapped in with the parked when we were ready to leave. Service was mid , not very personable . Not sure I'll be back for dinner , maybe if they got some better food options. But cute for a glass of wine if you are local.

It's a small place and the decor didn't really feel like it matched the vibe, and the karaoke set-up was not very good. It was really hard to hear the backing music, even when you were the one singing, but this isn't the type of place that you come to "perform" for karaoke like a lot of other places in LA. It's very casual and low-pressure. Song choices were all over the place (which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing). Late night happy hour menu was decent and they offered it from 9pm on that night, and the place did get packed to standing room only. I had a hard time finding info on what their happy hour was before we went, so I took a picture to share. This was on 2/6/2026. The bartender, Brian, was very friendly, but I realized when looking at the emailed receipt afterwards that he switched one of my sibling's drinks on my tab, and I'm assuming mine got put on theirs. We have the same last name, so I understand the mix-up, but it would have been nice if he just asked about who was who instead of assuming, and it also would have been nice to see an itemized receipt before paying instead of just seeing the dollar amount we owed. Not a huge deal this time, just something that I hope they will keep in mind in the future. For food, my partner was able to get a pizza from a place across the street and bring it back into the bar, and Brian was kind enough to offer extra napkins. For other people with back problems, be aware that their bar stools do have back rests on them, but no cushions. We had a good time, and this bar seems to host special events regularly, which we may go back for eventually if the right one comes up, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back here.

I've had oyster shooters before and loved them but didn't like their take on it here. Way too much horseradish and the vodka portion was way off (too little vodka) and unbalanced. Oysters Rockefeller - 4 1/2 stars. Quite meaty and delicious, such a great flavor and take on this classic dish. Crab Cake - 4 stars. Quite the large portion, and quite good! Miso Chilean Seabass - 5 stars. This was excellent! It was cooked perfectly with a delicious miso sauce, served with a tasty jasmine rice and steamed spinach. Short Rib w mashed potatoes - 5 stars. No notes! The meat was soft, tender, and rich and flavor and the potatoes were also excellent. Our waitress (who was fabulous) brought out an ice cream Sunday to celebrate the birthday occasion and I have to say it was also fabulous! It was an old school brownie sunday with gobs of delicious hot fudge and sprinkles and an item I would definitely order upon my next visit. I didn't realize they had a complimentary parking lot in the back, that's a huge bonus. Would definitely come back here for a special occasion, this spot is solid!

We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

Most people contribute to a pot luck feast that spans the wide world of food, from hot dogs and chili to baked ziti, tacos, meatballs, fried chicken, Chinese food, and on and on -- including some amazing homemade clam chowder from Mike The Mailman. Bartender Natalie did an amazing job of handling the busy crowd with speed and smiles. There were a couple of other staffers on site to watch the game, and they jumped in when she needed a hand with this or that, but for the most part Natalie captained the bar single-handedly for the duration. Kudos to her. It's true, Super Bowl only comes once a year, so other game days don't have the pot luck feast -- Sugar Mill doesn't have a kitchen, though they're happy to have you bring in whatever food you like and eat it there. Food aside, the crowd and the service are always just what you want, making it the perfect place to relax into at game time as Basketball enters the home stretch and baseball steps up to bat.

I wish I had read my last review from 9 yrs ago before revisiting this place today…read more Let me tell you about the good things first... this won't take long. Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.
