This place is run my Chinese. They speak Mandarin. Most of the dishes are authentic Chinese dishes. Please don't order the Chow Fun dishes. You'll be disappointed. They are not the Chinese flat noodles. Instead, they use the thin noodle. There is another Chinese restaurant close by called China Bay. I tried both of them. China Bay is better because the quality of food is better. Price is a bit cheaper. I give this place three stars and China Bay four stars. I was a Chinese chef when I was in college for 5 years. I do not give bad reviews lightly. Simply put the food is not good. I eat Chinese food all over especially in small rural areas. This was by far the worst food I've had. Chicken pieces cut way too big and the breading was way to thick. I'll stop there....... read more

I absolutely love this place they are very polite very understanding and the food is amazing after a while they have your number saved and know exactly what you order. I forgot to say no veggies one time and when I had realized it was already late I had already got home but when I opened my boxes they made sure they didn't put no veggies in my rice and to me it really be the little things that matter the most. Average Chinese food at best. Their beef chow mein is the best. They don't have a lot of competition in the area hence they survived. If there was a Panda Express in the area, we'd prefer that option instead. This place has zero customer service and they don't want you eating onsite likely because they don't like cleaning up tables. Eating onsite is frowned upon and make it uncomfortable for you without any AC. Best to grab and go then eat at your hotel or in your car with the AC on. One star is for the excellent chow mein and the other star for the reasonable price. Maybe I'll update my review and give it a higher rating as I try other items on the menu in the future. read more

Been coming here for years. Menu is predictable for most Chinese places in the States but the food is consistently yummy. Kitchen is open to view and is very, very clean. They accept credit cards but have a $15 order minimum. Dinner for two including appetizers was under $20. read more

For a quick lunch, would highly recommend. Had the spare rib lunch combo and it really hit the spot. The fried wontons weren't what I was expecting, but still very solid. Also, one of the only Chinese restaurants open for lunch during COVID so that in of itself is a major plus! read more

Stopped in with my cousins who live up here and it was delicious Chinese food! The same family has been running it forever and the kitchen is open and you can watch them make everything! My family that lives there is from Boston and very picky about their Chinese food. It's a fine line between authentic and American style and they sit right on that line. Hunan King is pretty good if you want some good chinese food. I go here most often now when I need a quick dinner and am in the mood for Chinese. They are pretty quick at getting your order ready and I've never had any problems with Hunan King. Lo Mein dishes and the General Tso's chicken are my favorites here. read more

This place used to be our go to Chinese food but since they changed staff, it's gone downhill. I believe they even started ordering lower quality food too. Night 1 of our cross country drive brought us to Elyra. After checking into the local Ramada, I went on the hunt for my best meal option as a dairy allergic individual, take out Chinese. This place was the first non-all you can eat buffet Asian spot I came across, so I ducked in. The parking lot is a bit confusing (from someone who's never been in this town) but the service was fast. I didn't call ahead, ordered from the counter and had my take out in about 8 minutes. We ordered standard fare of General Tso's Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. Tso's was OK, no spice heat there but sweet, warm and crispy and the broccoli was fresh. Lo Mein was the better of the two, not greasy, mild flavor, good veggie to chicken ratio and we demolished it. All and all, happy with the experience, it so hit the spot after a stressful day of driving many hours and sitting in a dumpy hotel room watching reruns of Modern Family. read more
