Awesome food and Amazing staff... The sushi is the best and the general tso with white rice is the best around..

How ironic that the first line on the review page is...Oh no ! What could improve? How about everything. We just finished our carry out order...well sort of. Being an avid foodie I'll have to rate this the worst I've had. Started off with the Miso soup but it left Me So sad. There was absolutely nothing miso about it. The taste was a cross between wonton soup broth and basic lipton soup with a couple pieces of seaweed floating around. Next I ordered the "grilled General Tso's chicken and there wasn't anything grilled about this chicken. It was basically DEEP FRIED chicken pieces drowning in sauce. There is regular General Tso's on the menu so I made it a point to verify I wanted the grilled version. When the order came up I asked him again...grilled chicken and he said yes, grilled ! It was deep flash fried and awful I had the fried rice option but I should have opted out ! I never received such a small order of rice with a dinner order anywhere ! It actually was a blessing because the rice was terrible the only savings were the egg rolls I found at Aldi, chicken and pork, not bad at all. Ordered a carry out for my wife and I after work. Carry out time was approximately 20-25 minutes which seemed reasonable considering this place is always busy (well so I thought). Arrived 20 minutes after placing my call was greeted by the man at the register. Place was empty not one person sitting in the dining room. Got food home fried rice was oily and very bland. I order general Tso and wife got Beijing beef. Both were disgusting!! My chicken was rubbery and chewy and was filled with fatty pieces. We ordered two chicken dishes on NY eve (chicken lo mein and chicken fried rice). The chicken lo mein was ok but the fried rice had some mystery meat in it that had no flavor, pure white in color and the texture was mush. Almost like a fake by product. I called them right away to complain and they said I could bring it back. I couldn't that night being we had company on NY eve, but called the next day to return it. I wanted a refund as I wasn't going to eat it. The female owner looked at it and said we had eaten half of it and would only get half refunded. The dish was $13.50 and she gave me $6.00. She was extremely rude. Steer clear of this place. It's take out only as you wouldn't want to even eat in there. read more

A year ago this place was awesome. Now everything rastes disgusting. The LoMein was bland and tasteless. I wasted over 50 dollars in take out. The egg rolls tastes bland like the Lo Mein but add grease to it. The veggie pot stickers were like wet bags of garbage. I threw them outside for the raccoons. Nit sure if they will eat them. I wont buy there ecer again. They used to be amazing. Now it all stinks. Buyer beware. The Sushi was ok. Dont eat the cooked food unless you like slop. read more

I didn't think I would like Sushi/Sashimi but when I tasted these dishes from Jin House, I changed my mind. The food just melted in my mouth. Good sushi place for lunch and for $12.99 you get 3 rolls, salad and soup. Sushi wasn't bad or amazing, just middle of the road. The salad was just iceburg with an introduction of carrots. The dressing was a little runny and had more sugar then flavor. The soup lacked strong flavor as well. All in all a good place for lunch, but it wasn't anything special. read more

I cannot express how much I love this place. Sometimes it takes a bit, but that is because everyone loves this place. Tiny place. No sit down for the pandemic. Call your order in, sometimes it may take a bit to get through.....I can't warn you enough times how busy they get. Totally worth it. Just show up when they tell you, they are pretty good at timing. We've been going here for years but this is my first review. We got carry out last for my husband's birthday. Shrimp with vegetables is fantastic, big shrimp & fresh vegetables. Grilled orange chicken was new try & great. You know how, when you get a fried dish like general Tso's and you wonder if there's really meat in there? Not a problem if you order grilled chicken instead of fried. The orange sauce had just the right hint of orange. My grandson ate his weight in veggie lo mein. Enough said there! Vegetarian teenager always gets sushi vegetarian roll & sweet potato roll. Their sushi is always super fresh. We have been supporting Jinn House ever since they opened. We ordered carry out during Covid hoping to help keep this restaurant open. However, after today we will no longer support this establishment. We placed a carry out order and picked it up. It was completely incorrect. We called to explain the problem with the order and no one there would help correct the problem. Finally they said we had to bring all the food back to have it corrected. When we asked to speak to the owner we could hear them refused to take to the call. What happened to customer service? They made a mistake and refused to acknowledge that. This used to be a great place but now it is not. They've got the inside so junked up that it looks like your typical junkie Chinese restaurant. They had dining before Covid but now they don't so they use their dining area for storage. We got a carry out the other day with fried rice and it had the consistency of wallpaper paste. The best and maybe the only sushi in this area. Tucked away in the little strip mall, the Jin house seems to be filling a void that the Lorain/Amherst scene has had for quite some time, sushi. I grew up in this area and it would have been amazing to have this as an option during my younger years. It may have saved me from the countless pizzas I ate at Biggy's pub. I've been to this spot multiple times and try to stop in at least once a visit home. The lunch specials are great with 3 rolls for about ten dollars the price is on point. Pre-COVID19 we went to Jin House frequently and food and service was great. We were excited to see they were reopened. Today we went in and order House Fried Rice. Well they have recreated this dish. It contained a lot of bologna, yes I said bologna. I could not believe it, never have I had fried rice with bologna. I've heard great things about this place and finally tried it my last visit home. I currently live in California so I will call myself somewhat of a sushi snob. This place did not disappoint! We ordered carry-out and it was sooo good! I tried a little bit of everything and loved it all. They have great prices too! When we walked in to pick-up our order it was very crowded and their is not much room for seating. I'm glad we chose to do carry-out. If you like sushi, this is the best place around for miles. Their lunch special was a great deal and their service was phenomenal. A man was extremely nice and opened the door for me before I walked in right away he asked if I had an order to go and checked on it immediately. On my way out, as my hands were full, another man who cashed me out did the same and even got me a drink for my 5 min longer than anticipated wait since I came a little early to pick up my food. Their sashimi lunch special was up to my standard except for the salmon but maybe cuz I left it out for a few hours, everything else was exactly what I wanted. It came with the classic miso soup (so good) and salad (plain lettuce but what do you expect). Also had one of their special rolls and was up to par when compared a decent to good sushi restaurant. My friend got the chicken hibachi lunch and 2 vegetable spring rolls for only $9.15 and he was more than happy with the food. 5 star service, 4 to 4.5 star food, maybe I was hungry but regardless I was more than satisfied. Dined in at this place on a whim- was pleasantly surprised at the nicer interior and selection of both sushi and Chinese dishes. The service was fast and the portions were HUGE. My husband got chicken mei fun, which he liked a lot. I got mixed vegetables with tofu, which was pretty ok. The tofu was nice and hot, almost melted in my mouth. I would have preferred a little more flavor to the brown sauce, but still would order again. Also wish they had an option of brown rice- rice dishes come with choice of white rice or fried rice. My wife and I love Chinese food. We are relatively new to the area and we are eager to find a Chinese restaurant that we like. A friend recommended Jin and I am glad he did. The restaurant is pretty small (only 7 or 8 booths and two small tables) and is located in a strip mall. We ordered wonton soup, hot and sour soup, chicken Lo Mein, Kung Pao chicken (all of which were excellent) and chicken and cashew (which was just OK). Everything was served hot! Ordered: Hibachi Steak Lunch Ambiance: Typical small sushi shop with a small sushi bar that seats maybe 6 people and multiple tables and benches along the wall. The place was very clean and service was pretty friendly. Food: The hibachi itself was excellent with perfectly seared beef which were moist and tender to the bite. The vegetables were cooked but still had a firm texture to them. All of this was tossed in a soy-based sauce and served with a side of your choice of rice vs fried rice. My only nitpick was the miso soup which I can't quite pin down but I think the brighter broth and green onions give it a distinctly chinese flavor. The edamame were also unsalted which is simply a matter of preference for most people. Overall I enjoyed my meal and thought it was prepared very well. You may pass by his place without even knowing it since they are located in a small strip mall. The seating is very limited and they turn tables over fast. Service is excellent and everyone was sweet and kind. The menu is extensive and includes Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I started out with the wonton soup which was tasty, but served too hot. I had to set it aside to cool down and before I got a chance to eat it, they brought our entrees. I find that super annoying as I want to enjoy my soup and then move onto my entree. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Cashew Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. The Lo Mein was fantastic! All the food came out hot and steamy. The lo mein was full of flavor and a super choice. The Kung Pao was just ok, as it wasn't spicy enough and therefore not flavorful. The cashew chicken was very bland and not a good choice for us. What I didn't like, and it's because the place is so small, is that when people are waiting for take out orders they just stand in front of your table. I don't know what has happened but it's went down hill in my opinion. I ordered sushi and a dinner special.
