The most ugly, unflavored and uncooked garbage, my dog food look better !!

I ordered a pork fried rice, disgusting!! The rice was mixed between regular rice and some chopped messy pieces of rice hard (uncooked) very unpleasant, and ugly to the sight, I never asked for a large size, But they give me a large one .. so almost $10 when in the garbage!!

Stopped by here for a quick dinner. It's a family owned place. The staff here are super sweet. We needed to use the restroom and they were kind enough to let us use their staff bathroom. The food here is standard Chinese food but good nonetheless. We ordered sweet and sour chicken. Pretty self explanation, food arrived quickly and was piping hot. It cost us $13 not including tip. Would come again if we're ever in the area! I

Called for reservation but probably wasn't needed (July 3rd and weather issues in the area) Great…read moreservice. Greeted promptly when we arrived. Restaurant maybe 1/2 full. Couldn't decide so we ordered a few apps (KFC chicken, edamame and scallion pancake) all of which were delicious. Decided to get bao buns and fried rice. Note: ordered chicken and shrimp but should have specified we wanted one dish with both meats - instead we got 2 bowls - which just means more for lunch tomorrow! Staff stayed calm when the lights flickered a few times and just said "hopefully the chefs are almost done with your meals because we don't have a generator"). Had to dodge a few broken trees on 94 on the way home but all in all a great meal! Also it's BYOB but really didn't miss the wine - Yuzu ade was refreshing on this 90+ degree day.

Blue Spice has been on my to-do list for literally years, and Monday was finally the day. I stopped…read moreby for lunch with my top-tier chum, a native of the Kingdom of Sussex who has been here before and has spoken highly of it. I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

First of all, the interior is just as impressive and immersive experience as the outside - it's worth a meal there just for the ambiance. But luckily it's not just about the atmosphere - the food lived up to it as well! Our favorites were the 3 cup chicken and the Mandarin pork chop. Both unique dishes that we hadn't had before and were delicious! If you like the classic american Chinese dishes, they also made a great version of chicken with broccoli.

American Chinese food was ok, though much of it was still off-temperature due to the commute over. The rice and noodle was just-ok. Not as good flavor as an AJ Bistro. Gold coin steak was saucy, yes, but meat was tough. General cho's was soggy. The more authentic Chinese dishes, though, were much better - the xiaolongbao were good, BBQ spare ribs people liked (I found too dry and lacked flavor in the middle of the rib meat, needed more marination), Shanghai bok choy with mushroom was great, lobster & scallion was excellent. Seared green beans were good. Overall, mixed bag on dishes - I think it'll be better when I go to eat in-person.

I've been frequenting Asian Island for almost five years now, and I'm so surprised I haven't taken…read morethe time until now to pen my thoughts. This is hands down the most consistent and high quality sushi restaurant that I've encountered in the northern NJ area. I keep coming back, despite a few other great options that are actually closer to me. I tried a very expensive venue on Rt. 10 in Whippany this past week (you can guess which one), but I will always prefer the Island. Fresh rolls with so much variety, you can get lost in the menu. The Monster Symbol Ball and the Tuna Dumplings are just to die for - so much robust flavor. Their standard rolls and sashimi are fantastic, and they will deliver as much wasabi as you request. It's on point and fantastic. The chefs behind the counter are never too busy to give you a nod and a courtesy greeting, and the wait staff are just so pleasant and willing to make your dining experience best it can be. BYO wraps it up, and they are happy to give you beer or wine glasses as needed. Only thing our group didn't care for was a fatty tuna special, and they were so concerned to hear this they offered to take it off our bill. That's customer relations right there! Please try this place! I've been wanting to also try Sushi Ya, but I just cannot bypass Asian Island to do so. It's a real problem. You need to try this place!!!

She saw that Bubble Tea was advertised in the window... she wanted one, so we went inside... The environment was really beautiful and welcoming! Staff were very friendly and helpful! I ordered the Japanese Wonton and shrimp noodles, unagi sushi, and ikura sushi. Everything tasted delicious and had great presentation! My friend and I had a nice conversation alone... without the family, friends, and event planning... LOL!
