Their price for eagle oil is cheap compared to other places. A lot of other useful things on sale too!

Some might taste little bit bitter and some just tastes like a dessert I do really love it I am so happy to I find this store They have so many authentic herbal remedies packs and I can tell their ingredients are very clean with good quality The ladies who work there are so sweet and gentle and I do love the service there I provided my description and she was helping me with my remedies I even bumped into the old Chinese Medicine Practitioner there and he is still working. I heard he is more than 90 years old and it is very nice to meet him Note: They have their own parking lot so it is very easy to find a parking space

This herb shop is fairly spacious, clean, and bright. You can call ahead with the prescription order and then pick up the Chinese herbs, or you can wait on site as they prep it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The products (snacks, dried goods, speciality sauces, etc) are stored in a tidy manner on the shelf, and pricing is clearly labeled and reasonable. Shopping here is a pleasant experience; parking lot is in the back of the store.

The ginseng jar was less than half full (see photo), yet it was sold as a premium, discounted item. The quantity was extremely small for the price, and the quality did not match the cost at all--the texture was rough and not pleasant to consume. More recently, when buying tea, the staff had a bad attitude. The store usually advertises 20% off, but I was told there was no discount that day unless I bought more than 3 pounds, and even then it was only 10% off. At $149.99 per pound, that's unreasonable for an individual buyer. Pricing and promotions feel inconsistent and misleading. I recommend being very cautious and comparing elsewhere before buying.

I have many memories as a kid wandering around the location over in Chinatown, and the fact that it no longer exists still baffles me. While there is more competition these days from other smaller emporiums and supermarkets, it is still worth coming in for the ease of shopping for Chinese herbs, teas, snacks, tableware, and kitchen appliances. Background music selection mixes between English and Chinese songs, much like how the ladies speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English well and provide a wealth of knowledge in figuring what herbs you'll need depending on the soup. I had in mind to make a soup for hot summer heat, which included northern/southern almonds, dried figs, lotus seeds, honey dates, huai shan, and luo han guo. Everything was there conveniently pre-packaged or sold by weight. Comparing the prices with the few over in 99 Ranch, I noticed the prices here are cheaper and more plentiful.

If you're looking for natural herbs, this place probably has what you're looking for!…read more If you've ever been to Tak Shing Hong or Wing Hop Fung, Bao Xing Long is very similar to those 2. It's not an ideal store for daily items but if you're interested in some healthy products or curious about Chinese medicine, I'd give this place a try. Price ranges from moderate to pricey $$$ so if you want to impress some elders with ginseng or something, it's a good place to be! It looks more like a warehouse type setting so it's not as aesthetically pleasing but they do carry a lot of different variety of herbs and other things. Some things I saw: -Sea cucumber -Black fungus -Dates, longans, etc -Chinese yam -Dehydrated mushrooms -Standard grocery items (soy sauce, vermicelli, gluten flour, green/red beans, etc) -Lots of chinese medicine herbs with funky names My grandma found this place off a TV commercial. They were running some specials on canned abalone and dried scallops. I honestly don't know how much of a *good* deal it was but my grandma was very happy with what she got. We also got a packet of dried fixings to make pork soup, dried shrimps and a bag of Chinese sausages from San Francisco. The place isn't very visible or noticeable from the street so either look for the red sign or their green shop sign. They don't have an actual parking lot but it wasn't hard to find a few open spots. Accepts cash, card & EBT.
