Dr. Pham is so kind and was great with my 6 y.o. daughter during her tooth extraction. It went so well she actually ENJOYED it! She also had her teeth cleaned. Both of my kids get dental care from Dr Pham. He is very kids friendly! Staff are also very friendly and caring. Dr Pham always gives me a full report on how the kids' teeth are growing. Five years ago, we took our four year old son to a pediatric dentist in San Francisco, who told us that he needed to have a tooth removed and it would cost approximately $800.00. It was a strong and high pressure sales pitch, and we were very concerned. We were suspicious and took our son to see Dr. Pham, who told us that it was not necessary to remove the tooth and was able to save it. We are planning to move to Davis next year, but will continue to bring our boys to see Dr. Pham. read more

First off, I was not happy when they recommended an X-Ray for my 6 year old. I declined. Then the dentist spent 15 minutes talking to some other guy, while my daughter was waiting in the chair doing nothing for 15 minutes. That part might not have bothered me much, then they topped it off with spending less than 6 minutes cleaning my daughters teeth. That was the final straw. I would have not been dissatisfied and okay with it, if it wasn't for the 3rd part. What the heck are they getting paid for? Not going back. I had a great experience with our old dentist, Dr Juei Kao, at Pediatric Dentistry, when my daughter was 3. She definitely took way way more than 6 minutes cleaning, and my daughter had a great time there. Not sure why my wife switched to this one. read more

I recently took my 25-months old daughter to Dr. Pham for her first dental exam. (He came highly recommended by Dr. Emanuel Berston, our favorite pediatrician.) Location: Large parking lot available. Front Desk: Friendly, knowledgable, welcoming staff, no-frills check in with the expected paperwork and efficient appointment scheduling. Practice: Modern, spacious and very clean. Exam Room: Three TVs under the ceiling showing kid-friendly cartoons, large Nemo-like wall mural, lots of toys and books, plenty of space to bring a sibling or grandma along. Dr. Pham greeted us with a welcoming smile and introduced himself to his tiny patient. He patiently explained to her and me what he was going to do and how I (the parent/guardian) could assist. He gently led my daughter to the exam chair which is when she got scared. Very calmly Dr. Pham continued with his exam, constantly assuring my daughter that everything was going to be fine but that he would have to look at all of her teeth. He ended the exam with a demonstration of how I could better brush my daughter's teeth. My daughter cried throughout the entire exam but stopped as soon as Dr. Pham was done, smiled at him and thanked him for her reward (sticker or small toy should could choose for herself). Since our visit, my daughter says every night when it's time to brush her teeth: "Dr. Pham. Toothpaste. Dr. Pham." and smiles. She may have cried but she was still a happy patient. I have already recommended Dr. Pham to two of my friends who ended up taking their kids (under 2 years old) to see him as well. I will continue to refer Dr. Pham to all of my daughter's friends. read more

Dr. Pham did an amazing job with my 3 year old daughter. He was able to keep her calm and distracted. Dr. Pham was the second Pediatric Dentist/office my daughter has visited because she was very apprehensive with the first Dr. The first doctor wanted us to put our daughter down (anesthesia) to get her teeth cleaned and do other procedures. Dr. Pham was able to do her initial baby cleaning just fine and gave us great advise on her other issues. My daughter walked out happy and clean. No tears! read more

Dr. Pham is the dentist for our two kids, age 6 and 10, and he has always been great. He is very caring, responsive and gentle with the kids. We have had a positive experience throughout, but really had an exceptional experience this weekend. My daughter had a bad fall on her face and I was able to reach Dr. Pham and he waited at his office for us to get there for an emergency check up on a Saturday afternoon. He even texted me on Sunday morning to check on our daughter. That shows true dedication to his patients. We have also been impressed with his demeanor with our kids and with us when we were frazzled parents of young kids. My daughter really does not like the dentist and is very hard to manage there, especially when she was injured, but he has a very calm demeanor and is good at working with kids that are challenging. We have had a very positive experience, after having some bad ones with other pediatric dentists, and highly recommend Dr. Pham. GREAT first visit to Dr. Pham. He has well experienced with little kids and did a great job with my 2.5 year old. Get there early if it's your first visit to get your child acclimated to the environment. It was a struggle to get her to sit still but we managed to get through the whole exam fine. He pointed out areas where we weren't brushing as well and demonstrated for us how to do it (as best as we could). Left with a flouride treatment. Lots of parking. We drove down from SF. We had gone to another dentist last year but the exam wasn't as thorough, and the dentist didn't brush her teeth (just cleaned it a bit). It's a busy business, so book your appt well ahead of time. I really appreciate Dr. Pham. He cares about his patients and it shows. My younger son has many dental issues and Dr. Pham had no problem identifying them and fixing them. My son is doing great. My other son has no dental issues and he is also receiving great care. Dr. Pham is the best dentist I have found for my children. He is decisive and easy to deal with. I like a dentist who knows what he is doing because he has experience. We even moved further away and still see Dr. Pham. He will also call you back the same day and fit you in for appointments whenever he can, if a problem comes up. He doesn't make you wait a long time when you arrive for your appointments either. My kids wouldn't open their mouths for me to brush their teeth, much less letting a dentist in there. Dr. Pham and staff were great, very friendly, caring, and took their time. To be honest, my 2 kids were never great patients when it comes to doctor/dentist visits so I was anticipating lots of kicking & screaming during their 1st visit. Found a couple of cavities on both kids (they showed me how I could improve home oral care) and they recommend that it be done during the same visit so we don't have to come back. To my surprise (not sure how Dr. Pham "hypnotized" them) but I've only seen them this calm when they're sleeping! Doctor and staff performed like a well versed choreograph, super efficient. My wife was biting her nails the whole time in the waiting room but every time she poked her head in the treatment area to check on the kids she came back reporting that they were behaving well and comfortable. What else can a parent ask for during a dental visit?!? I referred all my friends and relatives with young kids to Dr. Pham. read more
