Came by and did an efficient job. In a nice timely manner, and the blinds look nice. I appreciate him for coming over.

I reached out on a Friday. I spoke to Jim- sent pics (see before) and he gave me a quote- he was…read morevery fair about the price. He knew I was nervous about the trim flapping in the wind, making noise, but also tapping the window. I was worried it would fly off and damage a car or a person so he got the guys out the very next morning! Jim communicated with me each step of the way, letting me know when the team would arrive, etc. Mark and Larry were the brothers that showed up (right on time). They took the time to introduce themselves explained what they were going to do. This small step goes a long way to feeling comfortable . They were very kind and professional went out of their way to be helpful to me. I highly recommend JDM and I will definitely be using them again when I replace my windows in the back of my house!!

Terrible experience With this company and will never do business with them again…read more Jim is too busy talking about how they are number one is this town and that town (has people he knows do reviews to keep it that way) Instead of listening to what the customer wants. When the job begins and you tell him this is what we agreed to he denies he ever said that and then tries to get more money from you. Truly shyster way to do business. Now for the best deck ever (Jim's words) - at best the deck is average or below average with the workmanship not what it should be for the price. Decking not even with uneven gaps on the side, terrible cuts that should have been redone due to their error but of course they don't fix as it adds cost for them. Then leaving all trash on site not only from your job but from other jobs doing for the entire project (So much for everything including container). A suggestion for anyone thinking of using this company (big mistake IMO) would be to make sure every little detail is included in your contract to state exactly what you talked about and don't take Jim at his word as he is not reliable.

We were looking for a quote to convert our bathtub and shower to a walk-in shower. There were many different options to choose from. We had a great experience with both sales reps at Long Home. They were quick to respond with any questions we had.

Extremely disappointing and disturbing experience with Daniel O'Keefe…read more Daniel came to our home for a siding estimate and spent a significant amount of time giving us a sales presentation about what we needed, why his recommendations were the best option, and how he was giving us an exceptional price. He repeatedly emphasized how little profit he would make and shared personal details about his wife, his three children, and his responsibility to provide for his family. The estimate was close to $40,000, with a "promotion" bringing it down to approximately $29,500. We explained that our basement had recently flooded, which was why we had some belongings and bins temporarily stored in our living and dining areas. We also explained that our daughter is getting married and that wedding decorations and floral arrangements were stored throughout the house. Daniel brought siding color swatches for us to choose from. I selected a color, and he immediately told me, "That's a great color. It's beautiful." He even showed me a photo of a home in Dorchester they had completed using that color. He then went outside to inspect the trim around our windows. While he was outside, I was in the restroom and could clearly hear him having an open conversation about us, our family, our home, and the contents of our home. I heard him tell the person on the phone that we had selected "the most hideous color in all of the swatches." This was especially disturbing because he had just stood inside our home, looked me in the face, and told me that exact color was beautiful. He also mocked the condition of our home, calling the job "hideous," "a one-off," and "a mess." He made disparaging comments about our family and personal belongings. Then he discussed how doing the job would be "good publicity" because we live on a main road and could potentially help him get business from the "nicer homes" in the area. So, inside our home, he was telling us how beautiful our choices were and how much he wanted our business. Outside, when he thought we couldn't hear him, he was insulting our home, criticizing our choices, discussing our belongings and family, and viewing our property as a marketing opportunity. I heard the conversation and recorded it. I collected his belongings, put them back in his bag, left them outside, and locked the door. When he returned approximately ten minutes later, he tried to open the door. I told him he was not coming back inside. When I confronted him about what I had heard, his explanation was that he was simply trying to "sell the job to his boss" and justify why he had given us a discount. He apologized and said he had been "cowardly" and should have handled things differently. He then said that he was jealous that I was willing to help my parents pay for the project. I told him that if he had simply been honest and said, "I gave you a discount, so I need to explain or over exaggerate the circumstances to my boss," I could have understood that. Instead, he presented himself as someone we could trust while inside our home, then walked outside and ridiculed us and our home. I told him he had broken the trust relationship, that I no longer felt comfortable with him on our property, and that I wanted him to leave. I told him that he should have been honest from the beginning. Instead, he had chosen to present one version of himself to us while saying something entirely different when he thought we couldn't hear him. He said he doesn't even make a commission, which frankly doesn't concern or justify his behavior He then asked if I wanted recommendations for other contractors. I wanted nothing from him except for him to leave my property. After this experience, I looked more closely at Long Home's reviews and found numerous other customers raising concerns about high-pressure sales tactics, pricing, communication, and customer service. This was not simply a case of disliking a salesperson. We witnessed firsthand the complete disconnect between what Daniel said to our faces and what he said about us when he thought we weren't listening. If you cannot trust a salesperson to tell you the truth about something as simple as the color you selected, why would you trust him with a $30,000 home improvement project? I would strongly caution anyone against allowing this individual or business into their home. Honesty, respect, and integrity should be the bare minimum when asking someone to trust you with tens of thousands of dollars and access to their home.

Weird but fine, if the text etiquette is on point. His was a mess. He asks me to take pictures inside and out, of the windows. Ok sure, but I'm one town over and you could just pop by. He asks what I want, I say picture windows. He sends me a picture of double hang and says he recommends them. Don't need them. Then he just TEXTS me a price range. Red flag. Where's your quote with the type of door being used? Also, the number is high. I ask for the SKU to look it up on my own. He sends me a generic link to an affiliate landing page for DOUBLE HUNG DOORS. Ok, so here's where you have to use your best judgement. These guys have great ratings on multiple pages, so they obviously do excellent installs. But that doesn't mean they aren't ripping people off, because you can get similar work done for MUCH cheaper. That's where I got him, bc he wasn't willing to disclose where his range was coming from and then immediately tried to pass me off to Renweal by Anderson, which is widely known as THE biggest price-hike in the game. The safe bet with them is whatever they quote you initially is about double what it should actually cost. So it makes sense the owner thought it's a reasonable peer in the industry. Then he weirdly started text-harassing me when I passed on his offer. Piss off.

My husband and I were only in town for a week and trying to tackle as much maintenance as possible in a very short window. After requesting a quote online, Paul followed up quickly via text and we scheduled a consult for the very next morning. Paul and his son were an absolute pleasure to work with. They clearly understood our situation--we just needed to get the house in good shape to sell--and never once tried to upsell us. In an age where so many companies subcontract everything out, it was incredibly refreshing to work directly with a father-and-son team who clearly take pride in their work. We even spent some time swapping stories about great rock 'n' roll shows we've seen. On their way out, I asked if we could quickly borrow their measuring tape to check the size of a missing piece of siding, since we planned to try fixing it ourselves. Without hesitation, they offered to take care of it when they came back to install the windows. That generosity alone meant so much and took one more thing off our very full to-do list. A few weeks later, the windows arrived and were installed without issue--and they absolutely added value to the house. But the story doesn't end there. Less than a week before closing, we discovered another piece of siding that needed repair. I texted Paul to see if they might be able to fix it or recommend someone, fully expecting to pay. Instead, Paul personally stopped by the very next day and took care of it himself. There is truly no one better to work with than Paul and his team. They are kind, honest, hardworking people who do excellent work and genuinely care about their customers. We are beyond grateful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
