Unfortunately we experienced poor quality in the food we ordered. Very small portions of rice that came with bland sauce and unauthentic chicken in the chicken tika masala. There was only a few pieces of naan and the quality was poor. It's sad because it's so expensive and we got it to go so when we got home we were disappointed. Sadly the second visit just was not consistent with the first visit. And the first visit here was problematic. Save your money and visit elsewhere. It's expensive and the drinks are $15 a cocktail but bartender just sits there talking to her obnoxious loud friend at the bar all shift. Her drinks were terrible and $60 for four drinks?! yeah I'm warning all of you! Be aware that the pieces of meat were fatty and hard, we were just devastated to get home with our food and have it lack quality cuts of meat. The service was great! The waiter came to check on my friend and I frequently. It wasn't busy and it was relaxing. (Tuesday night) My favorite plates was the appetizer Samosa, it had potatoes in it. Another fave was the Curry chicken! I liked it better than the butter chicken. (Butter chicken was the bland for me) I got Kadaii Goat, it was mixed with peppers and onion. Did order in and was quite satisfied. Their medium spice level was slightly on the hotter side. Their entrees were reasonably priced but their appetizers were on the higher end. My biggest gripe is that rice is not included with the entrees and there is a $5charge for an order of rice. But worse still is their online menu is not very clear that rice is not included and unless you read reviews you won't know to include that as a separate order. It would have been very frustrating to have curry delivered without rice to go with it. Given that in most Indian restaurants, rice is standard it's odd that it is ala carte. If you decide to dine in, it is located downtown and parking can be a bit difficult to gets depending on the day and time. read more

After a short hike in the sequoias, we were very excited to try this new place! It's 102° after sunset and we walked into the restaurant. It's a refrigerator inside. We were seated right away and water was brought out. After we looked through the menu, we decided on lamb vindaloo, tandoori chicken, and palak paneer. We waited for the server to come around to get our order. I went back to the car to get my jacket and look for my friend's daughter's hoodie. When I returned, no one had come to the table to get our order. We waited another 10 minutes and finally our order is taken. In addition to the entrees, we ordered 2 rice and 1 garlic naan, chutney, Sauvignon blanc, red dragon (a Shirley temple) and a mango lassi. The tandoori chicken is brought out first. It is very tender and flavorful. The lamb vindaloo is some of the best I've ever had. The palak paneer was good, but would've been better if I'd eaten that first before the palette was claimed by the other food. After eating most of the food, we waited for the check. It was nearly 9:30pm and I'm sure by that point everyone wanted to go home. We waived to the guy with the broken leg and he nodded. He didn't bring us the check, but we hoped he'd ask our server to bring it. Instead they met and were talking. We tried to get the check again. Finally, my friend calls out to them and asks for the check. We get it and we found that we were charged for 2 wines, 2 naans, 2 chutneys which added $23 to our bill. Our server came back and corrected the check, but we still had extra stuff on it, so he went back and corrected it. While we waiting, my friend's teenage daughter texted that she felt uncomfortable because a guy in the kitchen had been staring at her the whole time we were in the restaurant. Not only did he stare, but he moved to a place in the kitchen and stared more obviously than before. If you want good Indian food. This place is great. If we ever go back, we'll get take-out. I had one order each of the - veg pakora - Indian pickle - Mango chutney - Raita - Mixed grill - Paratha - Peshwari This place is delicious. I will say, order the mango chutney, and raita (i also ordered the indian spiced pickles). They're basically sauces to add to anything and everything (a little goes a looong way with the pickles). I also got the vegetable pakora (comes in ~6 pieces), which comes with a mini cilantro chutney and tamarind chutney. I ate that in less than 2 minutes. The mixed grill was also really good and stayed hot, as it came out on a sizzling plate. The different grilled things went well with the different chutneys and raita (the raita was not spicy and helped cut some of the spiciness in the different dishes). The paratha was also really nice and had a little chew to it. The peshwari naan is a sweet naan, i had it with some of the spicier dishes and it was delicious. It's also sweet enough to have as a "lightly sweetened dessert". One forewarning though, they'll ask how the food is once or twice, and then wont bother your table unless you make eye contact and ask/motion for something. Still daydreaming about the dinner we had here last week. The menu didn't look like much, but they had a nice variety of vegetarian options, and I picked an amazing dish with eggplant and peas that I wish I could get regularly. My mom who is a notoriously tough critic, said it was the best Tikka Masala she's ever had. The naan was good and plentiful (we got the basket). Hubby had one of the chicken dishes and he ate the whole thing. We did have plenty of leftovers as well. I will say that we were originally seated towards Main Street and a couple ordered the hottest dish on the menu, delivered sizzling and filling the air with a smoke of fiery peppers that irritated my eyes and throat-- and made our whole table start coughing because there was no air flow in that area, so we had to move. Unfortunately, this made the waiter think we couldn't handle any level of spice, so even picking a 2 on the 1-4 scale, I think he gave me a 1, because it wasn't spice at all. Lesson learned. Staff was very nice and accommodating though, and service was good. This place is what I'm most looking forward to next time I'm in Visalia. read more

What an amazing lunch! The meal was fabulous. Food was made fresh and it was simply the best naan bread I've ever had. The samosas were to die for very well seasoned and the sauces were fresh and delicious. The ambience was wonderful. I walked into this place and surprised it's Indian food, it's good I love Indian food. Very upscale looking place. It was previously an Italian place, just opened 2 months ago to serve Indian food. Everything is shinny and new. I ordered tandoori fish and garlic naan. The fish came steamy hot. Very flavorful, a tad dry. I would probably do the chicken next time. The Naan was nice and fluffy, but the seasoning was brushed on unevenly, some pieces had none. The food came quickly but the bill did not. Got takeout, super average Indian food. Had 2 dishes 1. Tandoori chicken: 6 pieces for a whooping 20 bucks. No deep marinations, your average red colored affair. The flavors had not gotten into the meat and it was lacking the smoky flavor of the tandoori. Came with a very standard green chutney and white onion 2. Daal makhani: this was horribly wrong. This wasn't daal makahni which is supposed to be smoky and have a velvety texture. The Chana daal(which has no place in a daal makhani anyway) was way under cooked. Disappointing overall read more

We came here for the first time last night, and we were impressed! The food was delicious, and the restaurant was very nice inside! It was clean and had a cute front area by a big window. The signature cocktails were okay, they were basically just a juice and a liquor, which is pretty basic for a signature drink. I had the Royal Mango Reposado, which was just tequila and a thick mango puree, so it was pretty heavy, but my husband loved the Cracked Pineapple, which was pineapple juice, coconut rum, and cracked black pepper on top. The mixed grill had delicious flavor. We got butter chicken with mild spice, and chicken tikka masala with medium spice. We got an order of rice for each person, but we probably could have shared one order between two people. We also got the bread basket, which had four types of naan: original, garlic, sweet, and spicy. The garlic was my favorite. The service was good, although it took them a while to come back at the end for our check and to-go boxes. The BEST Indian food I've had in a looooong time. I was visiting from NY and I'm so happy I stumbled across it. The flavors are insane--every dish tasted layered, rich, and perfectly spiced without being overwhelming. Rich and thick masala with perfectly cooked shrimp alongside garlic and regular naan can never go wrong and this place did it right.
