If you're traveling through Traver and want a break from standard roadside fast food, 99 Punjabi Dhaba is an absolute must-stop. It's a charming, small spot run by a husband-and-wife team (along with the husband's parents), and the pride they take in their food shows. We ordered the Shahi Paneer, Goat Curry, and Karela (bitter melon) to go. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and well-spiced without being heavy or oily. It truly has a homemade flavor that you just don't get at most commercial restaurants. The service was excellent--Harman was so kind and helpful while we were choosing our dishes. Since we were on the road, we really appreciated that they packed everything securely and included all the necessary utensils. It traveled perfectly! Before you head out, make sure to check out their selection of Punjabi sweets at the counter. This is a gem of a family business that deserves all the support. We will definitely be back next time we pass through! Highly recommend!

A truly hole in wall on the side of a truck stop. Not much to look at but the food is really good Indian. Looks like family owned operated. Gentleman behind the counter took our order. Biriyani rice with chicken. Butter chicken, tikka masala chicken and vegetarian me got the spinach saag with gluten free Makki ki roti (flat pancake like cornmeal cakes) with a side of tart yoghurt. Perfect for me. We all remarked on the flavors and that the food was served with care. As we bussed our tables it looked like the matriarch came out and smiled at our empty plates. It was damn delicious. Traver City off the 99. You blink you miss it. Don't. Well worth the stop.

The saag here is the real deal! Not spinach served as saag, they preserve their greens using traditional methods to have it available throughout summer. We also got the thali which came with dal makhni and shahi paneer. Everything including the roti was fantastic!! They also have Indian sweets (some of them made in house). I would recommend getting something made in house, we chose two sweets (besan burfi and khoa burfi) made in house by the chef mom and they were delicious!

Tasted very nice and fresh. It was true local and homemade food experience. Prices were very reasonable as well!

While making a stop to charge our EV and on our way to Sequoia National Park. Perfect healthy stop ! Food was very good as well ! Very friendly staff as well:)

This lowkey place near Sequoia National park is a family owned business. The owners are super nice. We had the chole puri and tandoori chicken. Everything was delicious!

This place is absolutely delicious, some of the best Indian food I've ever experienced. Everything is made fresh, the rice could have been a little better; but all the entrees were top notch. The Tikka Masala was delicious and lamb curry stole the show. We loved their service, everything was made in the kitchen and made you feel like you were eating at friends home. The ambiance is nice, casual affair, don't let its location fool you. The food is excellent and worth your patronage. The staff here made us feel welcome and walked us through the menu. We loved their Mango Lassi; not too sweet and just the right balance of flavor. Our entire family enjoyed the Garlic Naan bread, fire roasted and delicious.

Food was good and their portion sizes were generous. The family of the business was really sweet with offering suggestions and making sure everything was to our liking!

Ambiance: It's rustic Americana in vibe, petting zoo out back, etc. The main walkway is a bit too narrow and creates too many choke points, it's mildly annoying, but other than that it's so worth the stop. :)

This was my first time at this location, and it is such a cool space! The tri tip sandwich and fries were, of course, delicious as ever. They have a full bar, a butcher counter, a charcuterie counter, a coffee & pastry counter, a shop full of fun assorted items from art to clothing, and ample seating areas with curated vibes. It is truly a one stop shop for anything you could want. It was neat to see it full of folks hanging out in the various seating areas. I was still able to find a spot with ease which was conducive to taking a work video call. The only challenge I had was not eating my food in too ferocious of a manner mid call, and if you've had their tri tip, you know this was a true challenge. lol I look forward to the next time I'm driving through, so I can stop by again!

How had I Not heard about this place before?…read more I'm a local, I've lived in Paso for almost 10 years and only recently discovered this hidden gem. If you're visiting Paso Robles and enjoy organic teas this is your place. They also serve a light lunch and of course worderful hot and cold teas. If you're in Paso Robles (likely for wine tasting) MAKE sure to stop by this place as well.

6 Star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert…read more SIX STAR ALERT. SIX STAR ALERT. That right people, I said it.... And 6 times to be exact! Because let me tell you, the Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles not only deserves those 6 stars, but they truly EARNED each & every star (plus a bonus star) that I am awarding them for their exceptional hospitality. Now, let me tell you why! While in Paso for my wife's weekend birthday getaway, we had such fun time casually strolling the streets with no where to be. While window shopping, going in and out of the various shops, and just meandering through the downtown area.... We suddenly came across a little business called: The Spice of Life From the outside, it was pretty obvious what we were about to get into... ----Spices----Herbs----Teas---- Hey, they had me at Spices, but the rest is what kept me from leaving there anytime soon. Upon entering this quaint little shop, we were immediately immersed into a world that I Love. Spices, Spices and more Spices!!! Yeah, I'm that guy that at home, not in public of course, that will put a little spice on my hand and lick it off (to test it of course). I know, but I'm just a spice freak, what can I say! Yeah, give me a good lemon pepper, a blended steak seasoning or even a Kansas City Bbq Rub and I'll gladly give it the "Lance Lick of Approval". Yeah, I'm a Spice Man, & I'm not afraid to admit it. And let me tell you, this place has got spices!! Yeah, there are Jars and Jars, & more Jars of the finest, most incredible spices you can dream of. But on Top of the Spices... There are Oils, Vinegars, Teas, Tea Accessories, Herbal Supplements, Books, and More! And with all that shopping... Why not grab a quick bite alongside a freshly brewed coffee or tea at their mini cafe right on the premises. Heck, we did! (We had the Vanilla Chai Tea Latte) And it was Fire! So what makes this place earn a well deserved 6 star review?? It wasn't just their great product. Or even their beautifully prepared drink. It was their hospitality, their graciousness, and the human connection that we felt that went above the typical customer vs. retailer interaction. The lady who assisted us (forgive me but I forget her name) but she might have been maybe the owner or maybe even manager of the place was so kind, helpful and made our experience exceptional, so thank you for that! With so many great gift ideas and things that we needed for our own household, you know we did some damage and got a few things to take back home. So.... If you are a fan of spices like me, love yourself some tea, are looking for some unique, fun gift ideas or just want to enjoy a nice, quaint shop where the service hopefully exceeds your expectations like it did for me... Then take my highly recommended suggestion and get over to the... Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles ASAP!!!
