I LOVE indian food and know from experience that a gas station location sometimes houses hidden gems. Service was friendly and quick. There is a discount for cash or an additional fee for a card. My friend who was with me wanted some dessert and when I asked for a few, the young lady working the register just grabbed them with her hand. Ooof!! I ordered chicken curry and rotti. I asked for it to be spicy. I am always a little bummed when I order spicy and they don't make it spicy. Much sadness. The rotti was tasty. It had a slightly sweet hint to it. It's a charming, small spot run by a husband-and-wife team (along with the husband's parents), and the pride they take in their food shows. We ordered the Shahi Paneer, Goat Curry, and Karela (bitter melon) to go. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and well-spiced without being heavy or oily. It truly has a homemade flavor that you just don't get at most commercial restaurants. The service was excellent--Harman was so kind and helpful while we were choosing our dishes. Since we were on the road, we really appreciated that they packed everything securely and included all the necessary utensils. It traveled perfectly! Before you head out, make sure to check out their selection of Punjabi sweets at the counter. This is a gem of a family business that deserves all the support. A truly hole in wall on the side of a truck stop. Not much to look at but the food is really good Indian. Looks like family owned operated. Gentleman behind the counter took our order. Biriyani rice with chicken. Butter chicken, tikka masala chicken and vegetarian me got the spinach saag with gluten free Makki ki roti (flat pancake like cornmeal cakes) with a side of tart yoghurt. Perfect for me. We all remarked on the flavors and that the food was served with care. As we bussed our tables it looked like the matriarch came out and smiled at our empty plates. Really flavorful, authentic and quick food! I picked up a veggie thali while charging my car across the street and it was fantastic. Both the shahi paneer and dal makhani were sown Of the best I've ever had. Roti were perfectly cooked and flavorful. After a long 5-day road trip with a group of 8, finding Chef Jaswinder's Dhaba was a true blessing. We stopped for a quick lunch while our Tesla charged nearby, and it ended up being the highlight of our journey home. We ordered the malai kofta, baingan bharta, mix veg sabji, tandoori chicken, and a paneer wrap, all accompanied by perfectly fresh rotis. Every dish was delicious, fresh, and surprisingly light on the stomach. The Gajar halwa at the end was the perfect finishing touch--it tasted just like home! Chef Jaswinder's hospitality is unmatched. We had high expectations after spotting this Punjabi dhaba on our way back from Sequoia National Park, especially given its good Yelp ratings. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing Indian meals we've had. We ordered the Chicken Curry Combo (with rice and tawa roti) and the Butter Chicken with tawa roti. The chicken curry was, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. It lacked flavor completely, the consistency was off, and it didn't taste anything like an authentic Punjabi chicken curry. The butter chicken was equally disappointing--bland and missing the rich, creamy taste you would expect. Never had such a bad quality basmati rice and definitely need to get a better quality basmati rice. The tawa roti was also poor, with far too much oil, making it heavy rather than fresh and enjoyable. Overall, the food lacked authenticity, flavor, and quality. Based on our experience, we wouldn't return or recommend it if you're looking for genuine Punjabi food. read more

As someone who has grown up in India and has eaten food at over 20 dhabas here in the US (and over 15 of those in California), this is definitely at the top, right alongside Sandhu Da Dhaba in Ripon, CA, and I-5 Dhaba in Arbuckle, CA. The saag here is the real deal! Not spinach served as saag, they preserve their greens using traditional methods to have it available throughout summer. We also got the thali which came with dal makhni and shahi paneer. Everything including the roti was fantastic!! They also have Indian sweets (some of them made in house). The Tikka Masala was delicious and lamb curry stole the show. We loved their service, everything was made in the kitchen and made you feel like you were eating at friends home. We asked for it spicy because we're Mexican and we can handle the heat and my goodness did it deliver. Everything was insanely flavorful and the spiciness had us sweating like crazy. If you're into intense flavors, this is the place for you. Don't forget to have some of the pickled lemon they have on the table! When we walked in it was very busy but auntie was nice. She let us know that the chai would be out quick, which it was. The ambiance feels amazing because it feels like you are in a Punjabi yummy place. The chai is really good auntie says it's masala chai but it isn't. We stopped here for dinner on our way to Three Rivers. The food was vey flavorful, more on a spicier side. I loved my paratha and the bangyan bharta. The palak paneer was not that great though. We were thinking about lunch and found this place listed on yelp. We remember seeing an article a few years ago about a truck stop in Wyoming that served Indian food and it sounded intriguing, so we decided to give this a try. I often wonder what it means when a restaurant says that they serve "authentic" any kind of cuisine. Sometimes the authenticity is limited by the availability of proper ingredients. My mom is from China and she cooks authentic Chinese food but if I order a dish that might cook for me, it will never taste the same. My friends mom might cook the same dish and it won't taste like my moms but that doesn't mean that it's not "authentic". Anyway, after perusing the menu, we each ordered a Thali. Mine with Mild Curry Chicken, Yogurt, Fresh Onion and Naan. Hers had Saag, Yogurt, Fresh Onion and two Makki Roti. The presentation was surprising. Instead of a Round Tray with separate containers or a school cafeteria type tray, our dishes were served in an open foam clamshell. Instead of napkins, there was a box of facial tissues on each table. The people that ran the restaurant were very friendly and proud to announce that they cooked the food fresh. My husband enjoyed them though. The flavors were good just the spice level wasn't correct for me. The food came out fast and the service was friendly. To be completely honest, we stopped here twice, once going north & then again coming south after our trip. This is authentic, Punjabi home style cooking. We had the chicken biryani the first time & my husband loved the taste of home cooking. Perfectly spiced, good amount of chicken & came with yogurt. We had the chicken tikka masala with tawa roti & naan the second time around. The breads were fresh off the pan, piping hot, and the curry was delicious & flavorful with boneless pieces of chicken. Also tried their mango lassi, had a hint of rose water flavor! Delightful! We took samosas to go which we're also wonderful.
