Baby, I wanted PARTS. We got there about 45 minutes before closing, and I really appreciated the staff going above and beyond for me. When I explained that this would be my only chance to try a croffle during my visit, they went to the back and were able to grab one for me. They absolutely did not have to do that, especially so close to closing, and I genuinely appreciated it! And I'm so glad they did because the Cookies & Cream Croffle with a scoop of Cookies & Cream ice cream on the side was the perfect sweet treat to end the night. The croffle was delicious, the ice cream was great, and the whole combination hit the spot. Miss Oz is such a cute, quality little dessert shop. Definitely make this a stop during your trip to Portland if you're looking for something sweet and a little different from the average ice cream shop.

The cookies were disappointing, but not bad. Ice cream was on the better side of average, but is nothing groundbreaking. I definitely recommend stopping in for a fun experience if you're in the neighborhood.

We bought 4 to try at the hotel and we came to the consensus that the apple fritters $4.99 were the best and they were huge. It had a slight crisp to it where the sugar caramelized and although sweet, it was delicious with a cup of tea/coffee. We managed to make another trip and bought a box for the plane. And it was still good the next day when left on the counter. Chilling it will melt the sugar. Overall, this place had some weird donuts which were indicative of the quirky and strange things in Portland.

Instead, I opted for the Mango Tango doughnut. It was good and super sweet. I should've gotten some of the favorites too but held myself back. One thing I really enjoyed was the spinning carousel displays featuring a variety of specialty doughnuts. Fortunately, I didn't encounter a long line during my visit. The staff was friendly and moved things along quickly. The shop itself is pretty much standing-room-only, with no tables inside, but there's a large plaza and alley area right outside where you can sit or stand and enjoy your doughnuts. There's lot of art on the walls and a huge doughnut art piece hanging from the ceiling. Just outside the front door is the Ankeny Alley Stage, a small outdoor stage where buskers, bands, and other performers provide live entertainment. A nearby sign features a QR code with the performance schedule. During my visit, a musician was riffing on his guitar. Seemed as though he was warming up and he was really good! Definitely a fun and uniquely Portland stop--and of course, I'm glad to have experienced the original!

I try to only taste 2-3 but almost always end up ordering the one I don't try which is vanilla (yep, that is how I roll). I tried the boysenberry which was incredible but, too much. I then tried the mint chocolate and confirmed I still don't like theirs (I had forgot it very punchy mint, more like mouthwash than fro yo) but I always try it because I keep hoping they will change the recipe. Soooo... gal 1 went away leaving gal 2. It genuinely felt like we just got handed to the bouncer... I honestly felt afraid to try anything else because she immediately was very aggressive... like "What else" isn't a question but an order to GTFO. This intensified as my friend had questions because she's vegan, so making sure things are vegan and she was curious about getting a shake - more going for a blizzard situation. Gal 2 started lecturing her about flavors saying she was interested in too many (because M&Ms & vegan butterfingers apparently ate a ridiculous ask?). She was also saying it would be chunky - isn't that the point? My friend asked if she had had a shake there and was given a very stern NO. It was just a bit insane... like, I appreciate you are maybe wanting to close early but WOW. I said , I just want vanilla thank you... and I figured I would just order Oreos on top - again, simple. She then lectured me that they don't have that and was trying to add cookie dough... ummm... have you had an Oreo? That is a completely different flavor, texture and thing .... and no... I started asking if there was any fresh fruit or something and she seemed confused at the question... I walked almost to the register and saw marion berry compote. Yes, that's all please angry person... my friend took her time ordering while I practically ran out. I was just super uncomfortable. She had perfect eyebrows I really wanted to compliment her on but it has been a bit since I felt such strong GTFO vibes. I assume maybe she had a spicy customer before us earlier but eek. It's so true about every encounter. I'll definitely remember this one as being pretty unpleasant. My friend joked that gee, her shake was delicious even though it was apparently made with pure hate.
