This place has a lovely outdoor area and the bread is good. But the Swiss and spinach omelette I ordered was bad. It took about 30 minutes to arrive after I ordered it, and it was served on the cool side. The cheese inside the omelette was not at all melted. No one came around to check on the quality of the food. It seems that young people who don't really care about their customers or the food are working here. We won't be back. read more

This is a great gathering place with lots of seating. I got a bacon arugula sandwich and a rose latte. The bacon arugula sandwich was so good! I loved it. All the light wood and pretty chairs just make me ascend. breakfast sandwich was oh so delicious the crunch of the bread was perfection and had soft egg, a nice layer of tomato jam, jalapenos, and the crunchiest thick slices of bacon. I would recommend these sandwiches to anyone. Worth my twelve dollars. They have a bunch of pastries too, but morning sweets are not usually my first instinct. I live in the neighborhood and stop in fairly regularly and I love it. Their breakfast sandwiches are excellent, and I particularly like the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich with the jalapeños, although I opt out on the kale. The coffee is also great with a full array of espresso drinks. I tend to get lattes and theirs are yummy. They also pair well with the baked goods that they offer. I like the cookies and the scones, but everything is decent. They also have burnt Basque cheesecake which is divine and definitely worth trying if you've never had it. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help. A great place to meet up with friends or to bring your laptop and work for a bit. But those muffins?!? Sign me up!!!!!!!!! The only complaint is that this is a well known secret so they are usually bone dry by 11am. No, I don't have a pic. The Good, The Bad, and The Yummy! My first visit to Fleur de Lis. I went searching for a place with good food where I could also spend some time writing. I went to the Hancock Street location. THE GOOD: The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. Young, but helpful, efficient, and always with a smile. Great start. The food is good. I ordered a ham & cheese croissant, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a cappuccino. My friend had coffee and a ham & cheese croissant. The coffee and cappuccino were good. Because I was taking up space for a while, I also ordered lunch and coffee later on. THE BAD: The croissants were cold. We were told that they just came out fresh (we'd arrived just when they opened at 8am), so we were a little surprised that the ham inside was ice-cold. But they were accommodating and heated them up. However, I'm not a fan of microwaved baked goods, so it was a little disappointing. The other bad was that it was cold inside the place. I couldn't stay as long as I'd hoped, because my fingers and face were just too cold. Shame, because it's a nice venue with free wifi. THE YUMMY: Except for the slight mishap with the croissant, which was good, all the food was great. My breakfast was good, then I ordered a ham and Gruyere sandwich followed by a lemon tart, all delicious. Overall, I recommend this place (if they could turn up the heat a little). I will be back. I don't know if this place has changed hands, changed bakers, or changed equipment, but for the past year or so the baguettes have been pretty poor. I'd now describe them as typical US baguettes - very hard crust, with a spongy crumb. They used to be more "Parisian" - they had some "give" when you squeezed them you could easily tear them apart, and the crumb as very airy and a little chewy. I've been hoping that the change was temporary, but have now decided it isn't - so I'm updating my review (because the baguettes were the main reason I reviewed it in the first place). read more

I recommend the one with bacon, avocado and tomato jam on brioche ( it was sooo good) The woman , I assume was the owner, was very friendly, busing tables and bringing out meals. I've been to this area and must've driven past this place so many times without even realizing what it was and that it was here. I am grateful to Nico for introducing me to it! This is primarily a breakfast and lunch place, with a heavy emphasis on baked goods. Their hours are typically 8am-3pm. It's a great place for a morning coffee meeting, busy but not too loud, different options for eating and drinking for everyone's tastes. The decor feels a little bit old-school, but the large windows make it a light and bright place to hang out. (Fun fact, this location used to be the local library!) I haven't tried the full range of their menu. But I can say the coffee was good, I'm not sure what roaster they use. The breakfast sandwich was quite good, with a well-made bread being the highlight. I'd be happy to go back to try more of their pastries and have some "working from Fleur de Lis" days. read more

After a few more visits, I'm upgrading to 5 stars. The pastry selection and quality is impressive, especially during the Pandemic. I'm amazed that they are able to churn out so many varieties of both sweet and savory croissants, pastries, muffins and breads. Highly recommend the almond croissant, so buttery and flaky with a delicious not too sweet almond cream inside and of course crisp baked almonds on too. With a cup of coffee, this is Heaven! If you are seeking to one up the chocolate croissant game, go for their twice baked Nutella croissant for an OMG this is amazing treat. This neighborhood spot is perfect for meeting with friends and catching up over a cup and a nosh. On any morning you'll see tables of 3, 5, 7 neighborhood folks. It tends toward the older crowd, with not too many trendy types. Families with thier dog(s) can be seen on the patio in all weather. I'd say the menu breakfast food is okay. What I come for is the stellar pastry case. Walnut goat cheese danish, all the scones, almond croissants, molasses cookies, you name it! They make all the usual coffee drinks and have non dairy options. Tea? No problem. This is a bakery and the bread looks great, so the sandwiches on the lunch menu are probably worth trying. I just havent had a chance yet. The service here is very good. They are kind and considerate. I saw someone carry a box of pastries out for a customer today. I love those personal touches.
