And honestly, when you're starving, there's a moment where you just say "whatever" and keep eating--and I did . A "small" personal antipasto plate shows up at your table shortly after you sit. There are so many delicious-sounding things on their menu it's hard to choose what to order (I had one of the best tasting steaks I ever had here) They serve dishes I've only seen here, like the Sacco beans (which are also sold in their shop) What I can see after eating here a few times is that they offer a marriage of old school Italian-American with local Basque influences and personal family touches. Luigi's is strictly a daytime lunch affair. They are opened Tuesday through Saturday, but only from 10:30AM to 2:30PM. That's it. There is no dinner service. The area -- Old Town Kern -- can be-- okay, IS -- sketchy, even in the daytime. There is plenty of parking; lots are scattered in the restaurants vicinity, but Luigi's is so popular and they're only opened for lunch so you get a full days number of customers in the span of 4 hours.
