Uh oh...something happened. After literally 30+ years, they changed the pizza. I have ordered religiously from this and the 7 mile and Inkster store. I don't know if it's the recipe or the cooking method? Changed pans?? No more toasty lines in the bottom. Not the same. Now like everyone else, tastes like Little Caesar's with a flavored crust. Crust is too thick. Sorry to lose a decades long, lifetime, really, go to. Will not be able to go back. Family didn't like either, all 4 kids raised on this store. Threw out the leftovers for the first time EVER. Seriously, feel like I lost a friend, my favorite pizza ever. Removed the app from my phone. I used to talk the owner. My husband and I needed a late dinner one Friday night and this was the only pizza place in our area opened past 10p. So glad for that because we had the best pizza! We ordered a deep dish pizza with cupped pepperoni and extra cheese and it was amazing. It was so good that we wanted it the next week. Unfortunately they didn't have the deep dish pizzas in stock (assuming it was a supplier issue as another local Hungry Howies had the same issue.) We did order a traditional round pizza and while it was good it wasn't spectacular. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.) As long as HH has deep dish in stock this will be our go-to pizza joint! read more

We've had a great experience every visit. We usually order for pickup and the drive-thru during Covid was such a relief with two little ones on board. Seriously, it was a big deal, since we didn't take them anywhere indoors for over a year. The staff on the phone and at the window are always really nice and patient. We used the delivery option once and it was equally great. Not sure where the bad reviews are from, but the last year that we've been ordering from here has been a great experience with mighty-tasty deep dish. read more

Although my pizza was ready very quickly on a busy Friday night, as you can see from my photo the toppings were rather sparse and very unevenly distributed across the pizza. It was a thin crust ham and mushroom pizza. In addition, I tried to apply an email coupon to my online order but every time I try to apply the coupon it said coupon not available. I called the store and they said that Corporate handles the email separately from the individual locations. They were not able to honor the email coupon. Oh well I tried. read more

Ordered here tonight and my pizza was disgusting, I've been in the pizza business in the past and I can tell that the dough has been sitting at room temperature on a screen for hours. More miss than hit. We must be sadists because we've ordered from them several times or maybe it just takes us awhile to learn. This last time tonight was pretty bad though. Pizza took almost an hour and a half to get to us, wasn't hot and was barely cooked (we ordered well done!). We only ate it because by the time it got to us we were ill with hunger. THE WORSE PIZZA service ever. I order A steak mushrooms and cheese sub. They Messed up the order. Redo the order again. Did not apologize did not say I'm sorry that they messed up the order. They make a good pizza and Howies is one of our favs. However, there is a guy that works there that has long hair and a GROSS, long, patchy beard. Think fu man chu on a skinny white dude. I've worked with food in the past and I know a beard net is required especially at the length his is. This place was the definition of stupid! So, back in 1996 when I lived in Plymouth, I had gotten one of the Val-Pak mailers, and it included a coupon for a free Medium 1-topping pizza from here. I called, ordered, came in, gave the coupon to them, took the pizza and went home. About 5 minutes after I got in the door, the phone rang. I answered it, and it was this store calling me telling me to, quote, "never show up in their store again with my multiple copies of the coupon"! First off, I had the ONE AND ONLY copy of the coupon that came in the mailer! Secondly, it was printed on paper that would be appropriate for business cards. (As in, I could never have made convincing copies of the coupon if I tried.) And thirdly, even IF I HAD done such a thing, why in the name of F**K would I EVER be stupid enough to walk in carrying ALL of them?! It fell on deaf ears, and they kept insisting they "saw me with multiple copies of the coupon". I was shocked! I called Val-Pak and HH corporate to complain about them, and about the only thing I could get from corporate was another Med 1-topping coupon. I did turn it into the same store to make sure they paid for their sins, if only this little amount, and then I never went here again! I do recall, while at MacDonald Ford a few weeks later, I walked across to the HH location nearby and ended up talking to the manager. As I did, I noticed one of the coupons, which looked EXACTLY the same as the one I gave this store! EXACTLY! THE! SAME! I begged him to sign it, and let me borrow it briefly so I could come back to this store and shove it in their faces! Unfortunately he couldn't, because he needed to turn them into the front office. If I could've wrote this way back then, I would have. I sure hope they learned their lesson somehow from that episode as it WAS a long time ago, but it still needs to be known. read more

When I called to inquire what was happening, I heard the employees joking in the background saying "oh my god, it's him again." I would definitely stay away from this establishment. First time customer; last time customer...all in the same day. This place has the absolute worst customer service and nasty food that I have expierenced in a while (and I've spent 3 months in Mexico) and that's saying something. The pizza I ordered was cold and had onion s on them. When I went all the way back to the store I was told by the manager that it's what I said on the phone (it wasn't) and that I should have checked it before I left. They would not make a new one or give me a refund. They did offer to pick the onions off the cold pizza and give it back to me.
