With a world full of pizzas and Sub shops, everyone needs a catch to bring people in. Hungry Howies is no different. They promote several flavors on their crust and do have wings with a few flavors. I stopped by and picked up a large pizza and a folded pizza ,like a calzone,filled with sub steak mushrooms and cheese. I had them put the lettuce and tomato on the side. On the pizza the thin crust was a bit thick,you know, like when you want that thin crust to snap when you bite it, but this was too thick for that. Fortunately, it is good both in flavor and a good amount of toppings. Service was good and there is not a sitting area so you have to take it with you instead of eating there. The place was clean and neat. They do have a good size menu. We will be back to try other items on the menu. I recommend giving them a try. Oh and parking was easy to get a space. read more

H is for Hungry Howie's: Introduction: I hadn't written many Yelp reviews lately. In October 2020, I restarted an alphabet series that I did one time in 2012. My last in that series was in March for G is for Grand Buffet in Laurel, MD. I had a negative experience today, which I wanted to write about, but wanted to get at least 2 positive reviews written before I get to that negative review. Background on Hungry Howie's: I first went to Hungry Howie's in college right by Arizona State University freshman year in Fall 2002. I used to go sometimes on a Monday or Wednesday when they had Mad Monday & Wacky Wednesday. Mad Monday was a large 1-topping for like $5 and Wacky Wednesday was a similar equivalent medium 1-topping. I went the most my Junior year when I lived in an apartment right by there. I used to eat the whole large pizza on a Monday in one sitting back in those days! I gained the Freshman 15 at least in the 4 years of college. But it was so delicious. Post college. I occasionally got Hungry Howies, but a lot less than in college. There was one in Derwood, MD...the only one in the DC area and went there on a few occasions. But sadly, it closed a couple of years ago. Looking up where the nearest was with my friend, I joked with my friend who also really enjoyed HH, we should go to Seaford, DE for the Hungry Howie's, which is about 100 miles away. Well, that day finally came... Friday, June 26, 2020: Not to go into any detail, but late June was a distressing & stressful time as I was going through break-up. We got back together in July but then ultimately broke up again. Additionally, the pandemic had a major adverse affect on my mood in general. I had a very small summer get together at a friend's place on the eastern shore of Maryland. Seaford, DE would've put me way out of the way, but I also had unprecedented work travel to Berlin, MD! I decided I would go through Delaware just to see something new and that I would eat lunch at Hungry Howie's. I walked in and ordered a small 1-topping pizza, which was on special for like $6. The cashier was friendly. I didn't forget to ask for the buttered crust. The pizza with buttered crust was as delicious as I remembered. It was a real treat during a stressful time. read more

From the perspective of a New Yorker who's relocated - what Hungry Howie's serves up isn't really "pizza", in the same way that Domino's and Pizza Hut also can't be considered "pizza".... but we were expecting something similar to those others when we ordered, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was significantly better. Crust was soft and chewy, and toppings weren't stingy, with plenty of cheese. Online ordering was efficient, and delivery was ahead of the predicted time. Had the Cheeseburger pizza, and added onions to it - very enjoyable. So regardless of what you consider it to be, it's pretty tasty! read more

I am a fan of the flavored crust and I love the wings there also. If you like bread at a pizza joint try the Howie bread it's delicious! We typically have our Howie's delivered and it's always hot and it saves me a trip! Mr. Craig Dimes who runs this location is one of the most dedicated entrepreneurs I have ever met. He strives for providing people with a wonderful experience with every meal. He is always looking for ways to improve and is always looking to help the community. So, if your looking for something different and haven't tried a Hungry Howie's pizza before you should stop in or have it delivered! Whatever you order you won't be disappointed. read more

I think I was overly excited to try this place. I was told that they have the best pizza around. Since I was passing by, I decided to give it a try. All I ordered a veggie and pepperoni. The pizza to me, was no better than Little Caesars. Maybe I picked the wrong type of pizza, but I just wasn't impressed. The staff were nice. read more

Having been a Seaford resident as a teacher, then moving to Mexico City, then moving back to Delaware, you tend to miss hometown things alot no matter how much you might love the move. As an educator, there is nothing like hometown support- and Craig Dimes from Hungry Howie's did that 100% while was was an educator at Seaford, fundraising events, football games, Yearbook plannings he helped do it all. He was there with as much community reinforcement as you could want. This often sets one business out from another when it comes to pizza with so many competitors. Add to this, returning six years later, and my first taste of his pizza again was as good as I hoped it to be. Granted, part of that good taste was the willingness, past and present, to help with events as the opportunity presented itself, but the garlic crust hands down is a huge factor, with never too much sauce, never too much of this or that, it work together quite well. There is much goodness tucked between the crust of the pizza and this establishment, and I often choose to go with hometown support and pride when it comes to any meal in the long term! read more

I haven't been to a Hungry Howies since 2013 in Florida, but this was my birthday wish. I had been craving a Steak, cheese and mushroom baked sub for years. I made an interesting and fun road trip. The highlight was George W. who waited on us and made sure our now order and for later orders were done to optimize the food quality. Subs for later were parbaked to finish at home. The company hasn't changed the dough recipe (like so many chain restaurants have). I'll gladly do another trip like that for take out! Thank you George and your staff in Seaford, Delaware! read more

Ordered my food on-line approx. 45-50 mins in advance. Was on my lunch break and when I arrived my order was not complete and I did not have the time to wait, When I returned to work, my salad was not as I had ordered. The staff was very unprofessional and never even apologized for food not being ready. Will not return and will not recommend. read more

The family owned restaurant is so friendly and fast. The pizza is inexpensive and the herbed crust is delicious. The boneless wings are pretty good. The delivery service is always fast. If we want pizza at a reasonable price and delivered, we always order from here. Heads up though, no seating inside. Take out or delivery only. read more
