I love pizza she says with a wistful tone in her voice. I have tried every chain pizza there is and most of the upscale individual pizza businesses in the Ann Arbor/ Ypsilanti area. In the past I kind of turned up my nose to hungry Howie's. I think I tried it once and was unimpressed but somehow I got on the email list where I get coupons and they have lured me in. Today I went because they were having a leap year special. Buy a large pizza at the regular price, and get a second large pizza for $.29. How can you go wrong with that? I ended up with two large pizzas for $17. And I could've cut that cost if I hadn't ordered one of the more upscale pizzas.Tonight I ordered a barbecue chicken pizza and a thin crust one topping pizza. The one topping pizza was the $.29 pizza. I would give them more stars if their website was easier to navigate. I seem to have a fair number of problems when I order online. Not problems with my order per se but just navigating the website. I have never had a problem getting exactly what I ordered from this hungry Howie's. And most of the time the emailed specials that I get are only if you order on the website. The Whitaker Road hungry Howies has no place to sit down, it is a carry out establishment only. And there's only space for about four people to sit down and wait for their pizza. It is located in the Paint Creek shopping plaza, where the Kroger's is. One of the things I like about the pizza are the different flavored crust you can get as well as the sauce. There's something about the sauce that I really like. They don't put an excessive amount on and it's really a flavorful sauce. But you can adjust your pizza in a multitude of different ways. You can tell them how much you want it cooked, how much sauce you want on it, all the different flavored crusts. then there are the crust choices, Luke most pizza places they gave hand tossed crust, deep dish, thin crust - so many choices! For the price I think they do a really good job. I've never had delivery from this hungry Howies, so I can't comment on that. But the pizza is ready when they tell you it will be ready and it's usually pretty darn quick read more

I received a customer service credit and tried to use it. But the delivery and gas fee is outrageous. Almost $7!! Since when does the company tell the customer they are paying for the driver's gas? Plus they have set a minimum of $7.99 to deliver. When you are gouging $7 from the customer to pay for the driver's gas you shouldn't have a minimum. I worked in pizzas for over 40 years. Companies are trying to get as much as they can from the customer. Maybe they are trying to encourage pickup to save the cost of having to pay for a driver. But charging $7 per delivery they are almost having the customer pay for the driver. read more

Jessica provided Excellent service!! My order was missing the salad and I contacted the store and got Jessica and she was really apologetic and accommodating. Jessica had my salad sent out to me and I received my order within 10 minutes. She was very pleasant and displayed excellent communication skills and customer service skills. You know... Hungry Howie's is acceptable. For "fast food" pizza, they at least are consistent and relatively flavorful. Service is fast. Sure I'd rather have Supino's, but in a pinch Hungry Howie's will do. read more

Yum. That's tasty pizza. I had been missing a decent deep dish pizza. Work had me reading story after story set in pizza places. The cravings got bad. I love that I can order online and don't have to talk on a phone, and that I can get fast (and very friendly!) delivery. I live smack between this shop and the Ford Blvd one, so the website offered me a choice. Based on the reviews of the Ford Blvd shop I picked this one. Good choice. This is good stuff, and it reheats nicely. Toppings are generous and both the sauce and the crust are great. Prices for the pizza are reasonable. I got the "boneless wings" once and they had good flavor but the pieces were pretty tiny for the price. I'll be getting more from these folks. read more

Poor customer service. I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza, after waiting 45 mins for delivery the pizza came I passed it out to my family and then it was noticed that it was missing the pineapples on it. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my entire life. On 04/24/2019, I walked into the store and was not greeted by anyone. I waited at the register for someone to greet me but no one ever did. There were at least 6 employees seemingly not busy. A girl in the back looked at me, whispered to an employee and then turned away. A delivery driver walked in and I smiled at her but she refused to look in my direction. I continued to wait until a man walked in and stood behind me. That's when the manager decided to come from the back and stare me in the face without saying anything. She completed the entire transaction only ever uttering my total, $10.60. She also refused to make eye contact but I thanked her anyway and left. AND the pizza dough was sour. Im a college student, I didn't move here to be racially profiled. I recently moved to a location where I can order from either this location or one closer to me on Washtenaw Ave. I have tried both, but this location in Ypsilanti is by far the best. The pizza is just ideal Hungry Howies, always has some puff to the crust, and rarely if ever is it flat. Equally important is either pick up or with delivery you get friendly, fast and consistently good pizza. Given the choice I will always order from here, and never again from the Washtenaw location. If you are thinking about, dying for the Hungry Howies this is the location on Whittaker Rd that will soothe your craving for a true original! read more

I live 2 miles from this store and can't get them to deliver pizza to my house because the owner decided no deliveries north of the freeway because of weather conditions. I will never order pizza from here again. Most of the area south of the freeway is country and snow drifts will be worse than north of the freeway.
