I ordered the blackened triple tail sandwich with sweet potato tots after the stellar recommendation from the waitress/bartender. The fish is delicious and it's a large sandwich with a big side of tots. The bar has fans to keep you cool. The service was excellent. I was there on a Tuesday and it was nice to enjoy a meal at the bar. There is a gift store and Robbie's tarpon feeding experience attached to the restaurant. Bathrooms are on the premises. It pains me to write this because we've enjoyed coming here for over 10 years, but this visit was genuinely underwhelming. My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a sunset cruise, and unfortunately it didn't live up to the experiences we've always had here. The conch fritters, which are usually a must-order for us, were mostly filler and lacked the flavor we've come to expect. The mahi tacos were equally disappointing, each taco had only a tiny piece of fish, the tortillas were stale and crumbly, and they were overloaded with salsa, causing them to fall apart. Our server was prompt and attentive, but the overall atmosphere felt rushed. We understand it's the middle of summer and the heat can make for long days, but one of the things we've always appreciated here was the warm, friendly hospitality. This time, that welcoming energy just wasn't there. It's disappointing to say, but this restaurant simply isn't what it used to be. I hope this was just an off day, because we'd love to see it return to the quality and experience that kept us coming back for so many years. read more

Good luck dining a parking spot as well but keep looking. Service was good and noise level was manageable since you're all outside. Good drinks and menu choices as well. When you get here you have to walk thru to the middle of the restaurant to get to the hoat stand. She wasnt to pleasent when she sat us, but when I went back up to get another menu she was sweet to me. It took 10+ minutes for us to be greeted at the table. But it is what it is. Moe was our server cuz He said our assigned server went home ‍ he was pretty cool. The food came out really fast so we were happy with that. And it all looks awsome. Review about each item under its picture. Its a cool.place to visit! Its definitely time for an upgrade tho. Will probably be back when we come down this way again to grab a drink.. altho the beers were def bot cold. Don't know where Moe went when it was time to pay.. we waited a while for the check. Enjoyed an early dinner at Hungry Tarpon in Islamorada, FL. This restaurant's claim to fame is feeding the tarpon fish. Very cool concept, but be warned- if you've never handled dead bait fish before you might being feeling like a fish out of water! There's also some pretty feisty pelicans nearby so heed all warnings before approaching the dock. We enjoyed some conch fritters as an appetizer before digging into a mahi sandwich and mahi tacos. Standard warning is that in Florida, "blackened" means it has seasoning and not that it's charred. The meal met the standard of the enviornment, with generous portions and quick service. The whole restaurant feels a little bit like a Joes Crab Shack. Don't worry about wearing a hat or dressing up. The service team was excellent, Adrian was a real standout. Super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Overall, enjoyed the meal but wish the prices were a bit lower. read more

Can't say I'd visit the Hungry Tarpon at Robbie's again. The outdoor dining is nice with a decent water view and music, but the food wasn't that good. Had the fried shrimp entree with included six medium/large shrimp. They were heavily battered and had unappetizing dark spots in the meat, with some being hard or chewy. The included coleslaw had little flavor except for a slight sweetness. The fries were pretty good, but didn't get a lot. It was a fairly small plate of food for a $25 lunch; I'd expect much more (even if just loaded with more fries). Once the food came we didn't see our server for a while so our drinks got low. It's also difficult to get a parking spot much of the time at Robbie's. Overall the food quality and quantity were lacking and I left not feeling like I'd had a decent meal. read more

Fun spot right on the water. We stopped here for lunch after a morning of fishing. The service was fast a friendly in a very casual atmosphere, and we loved the waterfront views. The Southwest Mahi salad was fantastic!! The server said it was the best salad she ever had and I now agree. The piece of fish was huge and the flavors were delicious. The burgers were also great if you're not in the mood for more fish. We fed the Tarpons after lunch ( watch out for those Pelicans!) - our teenage boys had a blast. We figured when we stopped that this was just atourist trap and the food would be mid. It was anything but! I splurged and ordered a Trailer Trash Bloody Mary. Don't kid yourself - this is an appetizer in itself. Our server, Sherry, made some recommendations and we decided to split an order of coconut shrimp. Holy cow! It was so good - fresh, large shrimp perfectly cooked. Sorry, but I didn't remember to take a pic until it was half gone. I advised her that I was a customer at this restaurant yet she insisted I could not walk through. Sometimes there are no words for the ridiculous and rude behavior of others. The little dock you can go feed tarpon from is a nice addition to the family atmosphere. Food is amazing. Everyone is super friendly. Such a great place. The views are extraordinary! There is outdoor seating and some indoor space, as well. This entire location is like a shopping village and a restaurant, as well as a coffee/ice cream trailer. It reminded me of South of the Border along 95, but with better merchandise and a tropical vibe. It's a great place to stop. You can feed fish and see pelicans too. There is ample parking, but this is a busy place. Ricky was our server and she was fantastic. Very friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was super busy but never made us feel rushed. The food & drinks were FABULOUS!!! Get the trailer trash bloody!! So good. Everything that was ordered was amazing. Several different types of fish sandwiches were ordered, conch fritters, and sweet potato fries - all delicious. It is incredibly delicious and fresh. We had an appetizer of fried Mac & cheese which went very well taste wise with the marina sauce. My wife got the hummus platter which was overall good but could have used more garlic & lemon. I got the fish & chips. It was decent but not great. The fries were fine, the fish was ordinary not bad but nothing to rave about. My wife however gave VERY high marks to the coleslaw. She is a connoisseur of this item & really enjoyed it. We liked it but didn't love it hence the 4 stars. read more

We've been coming to The Hungry Tarpon for over 15 years, and it has always been one of our must-stop spots -- especially for the Thai Mahi Fingers. Unfortunately, over the past two years, the quality has gone downhill, and it's really disappointing to see such a longtime favorite change for the worse. The Thai Mahi Fingers used to be amazing -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and served with enough of that incredible sauce to dip every piece. Now, not only are the portions smaller ($19 for just 4 fingers when it used to be 6-7), but the sauce has been watered down significantly. When I asked for an extra side of sauce, I realized they're actually mixing it with water. For a place that does as much business as they do, there's no reason to cut corners like this. The sauces are what made the dish, and without them, it's just not the same. Some things should never change, and this was one of them. Sadly, the value and quality just aren't there anymore. The server was amazing, loved her. I can't speak to much on the atmosphere as they moved all the tables under a shelter so we have no view of the water. Unfortunately we will not be back here. read more

Robbie's Islamorada 5-1-25 When we are in the Keys we must stop by Robbie's. This place is a true Keys wonder. Lots of items for sale and tons of things to do. You can Fish, Rent Kayaks, Rent Paddle Board, or Rent Boats. You book a ride on a Glass Bottom Boat, Jet Skies or Eco Tours. You can go scuba Diving, Snorkeling, or a Sunset Cruise. You can feed the Tarpon at thew docks or eat in the Hungry Tarpon Restaurant overlooking the Harbor or just plain Shop at all the little buildings on the property. There is just so much to do and see no wonder this place was voted #1 for tourist to visit. We go there early on Friday morning around 10ish. This place was already hopping with lot of people. We decided to get breakfast at the Hungry Tarpon Restaurant as it was too early for lunch. I ordered 2 eggs, Home Fries, Sausage and Toast. My wife ordered 2 Eggs, Home Fries, Bacon, and Toast. My dad order 2 blueberry Pancakes. Our order came out fast and it looked very good. All our eggs were done just like we wanted them and the Hash Bowns were even good. My dad stated these were the best Pancakes in the Keys. All our food was hot and every tasty. Our waitress kept checking on us to see if we needed anything else. Only negative was when we went to pay the bill somehow the internet was down, and it took a long time until they could take our cash for payment. I would give Robbie's 5 out of 5 stars simply because this place is so cool, and the food is not that bad. Hungry Tarpon truly welcomes you into the Keys. Great spot overlooking the Gulf and the tarpon feeding on the marina. It's a fun mix of watching tarpon flying out of the water and pelicans going for the gold. Perfect place to start off the day with a Trailer Trash Bloody Mary. This was the best Bloody Mary I've had in all of Florida -- Savannah, GA coming in a close 2nd. It was topped with a succulent shrimp, sausage, bacon, 3 olives, and a hearty stalk of celery. I went with the Blackened Mahi Reuben -- a fresh and generous portion of Mahi topped with Swiss cheese. 1000 island, and coleslaw on griddled rye. They made it legendary! After lunch, we got a bucket of fish to feed the tarpon. Hold onto your buckets! The pelicans eyeballed them and will get those fish! Not really a big fan of those place. Thought we would give it a try since it was a cozy area area just right off the bridge of the main route. Good luck finding parking. Had to park alongside the bridge all the way almost to the entrance. So I thought that was a good sign to a certain extent because of so many people coming there. We ate outside and it was windy. Not their fault, but that's OK. Our table that we sat at had food bits all over. So we asked the server to please wipe it down. Our server only checked on us once once the Food came out. That was it. Had the lobster bisque and it was lukewarm to almost cold. Wife's mahi-mahi tacos were decent. Again the fish was kind of cold. My son and I had the seafood jambalaya. It was under seasoned and again, the food was cold. So for the cost, not being checked on, and eating a cold food, we give it two stars. Also the bathroom is off the way. And it was absolutely disgusting. I don't even wanna go there, but if you can hold it, go to the bathroom before you get there. And bring hand sanitizer. You're gonna need a lot of of it. Not a big fan of those places as you can tell. Look elsewhere. Unless if you want to feed the tarpon's. Then be my guest. read more
