    5/5 everything!

A friend and I were on our way back home from big sur and decided to stop and get a little drink. We came across this little gem of a winery/tasting room! Natalia was amazing! Very knowledgeable! She sold us on getting a flight of regular wine and a flight of port, which is wine with bourbon or whiskey. Forgot which one. Everything was tasty! My flight was served with chocolates and my friends flight was served with pretzels and these delicious fluffy dips! Sooo good! My personal favorite was the basil pesto one! The ambiance was super cute and very home-ie feeling. We will most definitely come back again and purchase a bottle! Thanks Natalia for the great conversation and all the knowledge!

You can see the bad condition of the cork inside the bottle.

I really like Hunt Cellar wines! But I don't recommend buying anything off their "sale" rack. They didn't have the Que Sirah Syrah that I tasted during my visit on 10/11/25 (I think it was a 2014) so I bought a 2009 that was on sale. That was a big mistake. When I opened it last night (about 9 days after buying it at their tasting room), the cork disintegrated and wouldn't come out of the bottle. Had to push what was left of it in (see the pic of what's left of the cork). I knew it'd gone bad but had to taste it to make sure. Wish I hadn't. Had to pour it down the drain :( Still giving them 4 stars, because I do like their wine. They lost 1 star because the server yelled at 2 of my guests who were talking when she started to do her wine presentation. There are nicer ways of getting people's attention. But I still like their wine! So go visit them.

Hunt Cellars is yet another hidden gem. Not really hidden as you can see it easily from the 46, but it doesn't quite get the fanfare that it is deserving of. You almost feel like you are wine tasting at someone's home. The experience is that pleasant. Very relaxed and inviting is the vibe we felt the entire time. Our wine server was just so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The wine was great. We were also introduced to some excellent port wines. We are coming back for sure!

We met the Winemaker David & his wife in Burbank at Morton's Steakhouse for a VIP WINE LOCKER private wine tasting and he invited us to come out to PR & visit. We did and Laura & I had a phenomenal time with Mr. Dave 'WINE' the Hospitality Manager who gave us the most amazing private wine tasting ever. 11 wines later & 2 ports we were HAPPY. Dave took the time to explain every wine & so much more. If I could give a 10 outta 5 stars I would. We will be back in October for a Private wine tasting & dinner, CHEERS

We visited Hunt Cellars based on a recommendation from a friend. The tasting room is located just off Highway 46, and we were happy to book the last tasting at 4pm. We were welcomed immediately by Johnny, who introduced us to the person who would be guiding us through the tasting, Pam, who also happened to be his wife. Thank you Pam for explaining to us wine newbies all the different wines on offer, including pouring us some wines that weren't necessarily on the tasting list, but more closely matched our personal tastes. Not every winery will do that for you, so we are truly appreciative of the personal touch. They are known for aging their wines a little longer than most, like from mid-2010s, and also their ports. You can either taste from their estate wines or from their ports, or try a bit of both. While we did not love everything we tried, we had enough of what we enjoyed to be able to purchase a few different bottles. The vibe is very low key and unhurried. Perfect for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon. We will visit again soon!

After visiting several wineries around Paso Robles, my friends and I really loved so many things about Hunt Cellars. This was our favorite winery we visited. Our party of 6 walked in with 45 minutes to closing and was treated with such exquisite, excellent, Yelp worthy service by a man who calls himself "Grape". Our group was given pretzel snacks for between tastings and he even gave special dog treats, bowl of water and attention to my friend's two fur babies (dogs). Grape was so friendly, personable, knowledgeable and made us all feel very special. Grape -thank you, for your top-notch service that added so much awesome to our Paso Robles winery weekend trip :) Extensive excellent wines here at Hunt. I prefer sweet wines and purchased a Merlot Port (see my pic). I loved sitting at the the outdoor gazebo. Free parking. Check in to Yelp app and get your wine tasting for free. I am confident that you'll love your experience here, just as myself and my friends did. Thank you, Hunt Cellars for being truly 5-star Yelp worthy :)

Been to more wineries than I can count. Napa is an auto parts store, Paso Robles is for wine tasting. Stopped by here for my name's sake. Impressed is what I was. Numerous great wines. Whites, reds, blends. All excellent. A little back story. The owner, David Hunt was a musician in the recording artist group Ambrosia. He played the piano, still does. Blind later in life but produces awesome wines. Stop by, you will not be disappointed %

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

Roasted Chicken was tender with a light sauce. Pasta with mushroom sounds simple but it was yummy and perfect. I had the opportunity to stay at the Summerwood Inn in Paso Robles, CA and fell in love with it. It has to be one of my favorite places to stay. I didn't want to leave this one. They did have a wifi and a desk so that I could check my email, but I was barely on the computer because there was too much to enjoy. My room overlooked this courtyard which was even more beautiful at night. Behind the Inn was the winery. It was so peaceful. Chef Kelly Wangard is responsible for the decorating and the amazing cuisine. She also won Cut Throat Kitchen. We were watching the Food Network and the repeat came on. I got this great pic of Kelly watching herself. There is a reason Kelly won. Her food is so delicious. You could order breakfast the night before and it was prepared for you in the morning. The Eggs Benedict just melted in your mouth and it was served with a side of greens and potatoes. In the evening Kelly had wine and h'ordeuvres for us and dessert, coffee, and tea in the evening. Then you could unwind with a hot bath and their exclusive bath soaps and lotions - they smell amazing! You could curl up and read a book or check out the surrounding area.
