    Dining room

If you have read any of my other reviews, we really try to support small and local businesses wherever we go. This trip to Ely, we decided to stop for dinner at this place. It is located right on Aultman, one of two main streets through Ely, Nevada. There is outdoor seating and we definitely would have loved to sit there if the winds were not blowing as strong as they were. When we entered, we were immediately greeted by the cashier and cook. The dining room was clean and orderly, as if someone had just come through and straightened it before we got there. We chose the 12" Philly Cheesesteak as it looked to be a good deal to share between us. We also chose the fries and a drink to go along with it. Our order came out in good time and the staff there even took the time to put half the sandwich on one plate and the other half on another plate. One plate was also piled high with french fries and we got a couple of cups of sauce on the side. The cheesesteak was very flavorful and tender with lots of onions and bell peppers. Was filling too. The town of Ely only has 2 chain restaurants and the rest are small local businesses so supporting small local is pretty easy here.

What is it about small towns that makes them so good at making burgers?! We stopped in at Hunter's while on a road trip and we were not disappointed by the food or the service! Theresa and Amy were working when my husband and I were the only patrons there. They were so nice and made our burgers quickly. The burgers themselves were delicious! They were fresh and made there in the restaurant. They also used real cheddar cheese. And the quality of the fries was top notch! The restaurant itself was also very clean. I'd highly recommend to anyone staying in or passing through Ely!

We stopped here twice on our way to Elko and our way back to Vegas. We needed a spot with outside seating since we had our dog with us and I prefer not to eat fast food if I can help it. We gave it a shot, we tried the burger, soda, and fries special and it was really good. The waitress even gave our pup a dog treat. On our second stop I decided to try something else, my husband stuck with the burger. I got the 1/2 cheesesteak, it was huge and no french fries or soda came with this. It was ok, it's the type of cheesesteak your mom or grandma would throw together with what was on hand. It wasn't chipped steak, there were nice steak pieces in this but it wasn't what I expected or wanted. I would certainly stop here again if in the area and needed something to eat.

I stopped in Ely (Nevada) last Thursday (May 18th) to see Great Basin National Park. I had this takeout diner for dinner. I ordered a fish sandwich with fries. I found it good, and fried cod was used for it. The fries were average. Food was ordered at the front counter, and the food came quickly. The dining room was well kept. There was also a television inside of it.

We were driving through Ely on the way to Vegas and stopped here for lunch. Prices are great , food was amazing , service is excellent and fast ! The ambiance is very cozy hometown diner and would definitely eat here more often if it wasn't 4 hours away.

Service was good and friendly! Fries were burnt yet soggy. (Maybe using old oil) . Chicken tenders were yummy. Picadillies were super yummy! Gyro was pretty good. French dip was good except cheese was burnt.

Huge open parking or shaded parking available

Awesome small diner experience. Wonderful service and cooks. BETTER than home made! We will certainly return on our next trip through Ely.

Great food, friendly staff with awesome service. The restaurant was very clean and well cared for. We found a new pit stop in Ely.

I should add Arby's sauce to my glove compartment in case of another experience like this.

Very slow with the service this morning but extremely clean and polite. In their defense they did have a help wanted sign. Food was good.

The servers were next-level friendly and prompt despite the dinner rush, they have some fun art, and it's a peaceful place. I really loved the green beans, and another favorite item was the apricot sorbet. They make a ton of items, which is very cool. I only wish they had a few more dairy-free items (especially for breakfast), but what they do offer is far better than expected for this remote location- it would stand up in any metro area. My husband raved about the root beer float, pasta, and pizza. Dinner is sit-down and if you go for breakfast or lunch, it's counter service. They have an extremely well-stocked bar- we didn't partake, but many around us did, and drinks looked excellent.

The owners are selling the restaurant so the great looking food on the website and in yelp pictures is no longer offered. The menu consisted of burgers, pizza, the saddest brisket ever, ravioli, and some salads. The ravioli and pizza were ok at best. The brisket was pretty awful. While there are some pretty neat old pictures inside, the rest of the restaurant decor seems really random. The lady that served us seemed nice and was on top of bringing us everything we ordered in a timely manner. We weren't able to try the homemade ice cream sandwiches as there seemed to be some kind of problem with the freezer. Will not return.

Four of my friends and I went to dinner here last Friday night and while we were waiting to be served they were complaining about the last time they had been in and how long it took to get there food. This time was no exception. The place was somewhat busy and I believe there was only one waitress. The atmosphere was noisy, the waitress was friendly and on top of it as she could be. The food was average and took a while to get. This being said it is Eureka NV with not many choices for places to work or eat so if you decide to stop in you will have to just grin and bare it.

There wasn't much of a choice. Service was ok, I think the poor boy was overworked managing the whole dining room himself and rude demanding customers screaming at him. Interior was nothing special, felt a little dirty. Had to ask for condiments. My hubbys cheeseburger was good but my chicken Philly cheesesteak had gigantic chicken slices so I can't pick it up and bite into it without the chicken falling out. I'm used to small, shredded pieces of chicken in a cheesesteak! Lemonade tastes like cough syrup. Afterwards, I had the worst stomachache the whole way home back to California. I know it's the desert but I would skip. PS: what is up with all the broken and chipped plates??? This shows this place truly does not care about the perception and the dining experience. Check out my broken chipped plate. My hubbys plate was worst with multiple chipped spots, can't see too well but check out his cheeseburger picture, you can see a chip on his plate.
