I've been to both the Glendora and Pasadena location over the last 10 years or so and never experienced any issues. I never have any problems with my teeth so I mostly come for a basic cleaning. Dr. Au and the team have always provided solid service and usually explains any potential issues on my gums such as my lack of flossing. Also gave me some advise in terms of keeping my teeth white and etc. On occasions I got to take home a goodie travel bag filled with toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss. I would not recommend this dental practice as they are more concerned about making money than about patient care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently I retired and had to change dental insurance to an HMO connected with Medicare. I had given the office staff my insurance information over the phone when I made the appointment for teeth cleaning, however, on the morning of my appointment I still had to wait one and a half hours for them to contact my HMO to be sure that their's was the office I was authorized to visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then the dentist, Dr. Tran, gave me an extensive list of items that needed to done that added up to over $3000. I told them I would have to reschedule for the cleaning as it was now two and a half hours that I had been there, and I had to take my husband to his doctor's appointment. I was there from 8:50 a.m. to 11:35 a.m. and had not had my teeth cleaned, only had the x-rays done. When I reviewed the list of things they said I needed done, and the cost of each item, I decided to get a 2nd opinion from the dentist that I had been seeing for over 10 years through my employer's dental insurance. When I contacted Dr. Tran's office to get my x-rays, they said I would have to pay $85 even though the HMO had already paid for the x-rays. This is by far the worst Dental Office I have ever been too - I went last year 2024 as a new patient - The staff tried to trick me into paying $1,300 out of pocket for a deep cleaning even though I had insurance. The Dentist refused to do a regular cleaning. And they did not allow me to keep the estimate, so I wouldn't be able to have proof of them taking advantage of me and robbing me! I had an appointment here, and the person who cleaned my teeth was a teenage boy who did not know what he was doing. I could've brushed my teeth better than the way he brushed my teeth, and tried to floss my teeth. The only positive is that when I complained about this, they had a different person, a woman, clean my teeth, and she did a good job. I was recommended to Vision Dental by a friend. She kept talking about how patient Dr. Au was with her. She has anxiety about going to the dentist. She noted how calm and reassuring the office staff was. The time her anxiety did kick in, a staff member began talking about my friend's favorite band. Do not waste your time or money at New Vision Dental. I was a patient there for years and I regret it terribly. I have had 5, yes 5, instances where their work did not last. I had an implant fall out, a bridge fail, 2 fillings fell out, and just yesterday a crown fell out. Crowns are supposed to be permanent. This one was only 5 or 6 years old. I have crowns from former dentists in San Diego that have lasted for decades. Dr. Au and his dental staff are incompetent. Dr. Au had to redo my implant that came loose and fell out because the post he installed the first time was too short. Then while I was in his dentist chair for the replacement implant he had the audacity to complain to his hygienist how he didn't want to return a shirt because it was inconvenient so he gave it to his brother. I was astounded. I spoke up and agreed that returning things that don't fit is inconvenient, especially when it's a defective implant that requires hammering into your jaw. The gaul of this man is unbelievable! Dr. Au is a conceited, unprofessional brat that complains to his staff, in front of patients, about how long his Porsche has been in the shop. As a patient I should not know what kind of car he drives. That is none of my business. Lastly, a different dentist there broke off a small piece of an instrument in my wife's mouth when she had a root canal. We changed insurance plans so we could leave New Vision Dental, and our new dentist saw it in the x-ray. It is something they need to keep an eye on in case it gets infected. New Vision didn't know, or didn't care, that they left a piece of steel in my wife's face. Incompetence, conceit, arrogance and a lack of professionalism is all you will get at New Vision Dental Do yourself a huge favor and steer clear of them and warn your friends and family, too. I highly recommend Dr. Brandon. I had a wisdom tooth removed, and the procedure was done with great quality and without any pain. The doctor truly has golden hands. I had to visit several clinics, but no one agreed to take on the removal because the root of my tooth was hooked and curved. Everyone kept saying I needed a specialist who works with a microscope, but even those specialists, after seeing the X-ray of my tooth, were afraid to proceed. After hesitating about going to a new dentist, since I have been going to my dentist since I was 10 yrs old and now 33, I have to say it was an excellent decision. One of the reasons I decided to go is because they open every other Saturday. I did my six-month cleaning, and everyone that works here is lovely. The office interior is beautiful, and I love the display information and different display toothbrushes. I cannot remember my doctor's name, but that is because I'm bad at names. But she was amazing and gentle. She and the staff, including my nurse, ensured I was comfortable the whole time. My nurse was patient with photographing my teeth and advising me on caring for my gums. And finally, let's not forget the office manager. She was very informative and honest with my needed services and the cost. She repeated herself to make sure I understood correctly. She said she sent me a copy of what they did. which I never received. me and my daughter had to go in the next day to physically get it. Then my daughter noticed they did 3 fillings, pictures that insurance dont pay for. fluoride that most insurance don't pay in adults. Desensitizer that insurance don't pay for either. I wasn't told or explained what they wanted to do that day. or gave me an option to do this things. If I wanted thus things that insurance don't pay. They just came in and said the cost. I had some X-ray work done and the dentist had checked out my teeth. I was also recommended a $900 quoted deep cleaning (NO, THANK YOU). The staff had me watch a video to try and persuade me into thinking I needed some contracted treatment to avoid an infection that may arise after my cleaning. Started coming here after going to dentists of Pasadena on lake. Dentists of Pasadena on lake was constantly overcharging me and making really expensive recommendations so I wanted a second opinion. New Vision is much less scammy--however!! It takes forever and a day to be seen. First time I came I arrived early and waited almost an hour after my initial appointment time to go back and see the dentist. The second time I came it took over 30 minutes past my appointment time. The reason I am giving this place five stars is because they were kind, listened to my concerns about treatment, and the dental assistant even held my hand during the extraction. They only numbed my mouth as much as needed (I am a thin person) and the dentist was patient. I received excellent service and that was easily worth what I paid. I'd much rather have that than cheaper "conventional" treatment. I came here because my insurance plan changed this month and knew I needed a wisdom tooth removed (because I was having pain and my last dentist told me so). Initially they wanted me to pay 80$ for an exam and cancer screening. I explained I had very recently had dental work done and why I was there. As a result, I only paid 40$ for a basic screening of the area that was giving me pain, followed by an extraction and bone graft. I paid more for that, but that was expected. If you want cheap quick service I have a feeling this place is not for you but if you want quality treatment and consideration, it's absolutely worth it!! read more

I had a few procedures done at new vision dental spanning a few months and my experience has been great each time I've visited! They are doing in person appointments but the health and safety protocols are strict and duly followed. The waiting room is never full allowing for people to space out and temperature checks and masks are required. The doctors and staff at new vision dental are very attentive and patient. They are also super friendly and pleasant! I'm a lousy dental patient because I'm terrified of dentists and their tools and have a really low pain tolerance because I'm a wimp. All the dentists who saw me so far were very patient and made it a point to make sure that I can't feel anything before the proceed with each step. Afterwards I also get follow up calls to make sure I'm doing ok and to give me aftercare tips if I have any discomforts. My experience has also been positive because the front desk staff are so efficient and helpful in helping me get my appointments and referrals, and figuring out what I will need from my insurance. I'm glad I found this place and even though I'm moving out of the area soon, I'll probably keep coming back because such a great team is a rare find!
