Asian Female Driver. Know car repairs as much as fixing well, everything else. Like most people in an unfamiliar area, I am always nervous about trying an auto shop for the first time. My car window was completed shattered by a thief in my neighborhood (Mayor Blasio, you should be ashamed to tell twitter about reduced crime rates). I called almost a dozen shops; Jim answered the phone with a price and told me that the repair could be done on the same day. When I arrived, I noted that the shops are manned by group of seasoned staff who talked straight. The waiting room was spacious and the staff who installed the window cleaned the window (wiped the edges several times) before fitting the glass into a space holder (a rubber frame) then putting the whole set back on to my car. The whole process took approximately 40 min. which is exact what I expected (when in double, google it). I paid what I was quoted over the phone. One day after the repair, I received a follow up text from the store just to make sure that everything is fine. It is a very nice touch in customer service, reflecting the pride and honor of the owner as well as management. As I drove away, another customer who had the same window problem came. I hope those who read this review would never ever need to replace his or her car windows due to theft or accident. If you ever do, I recommend this auto shop. read more

I brought in my dodge durango 2018 sxt plus white color to this business, my vehicle only hass 56,000 miles 1. They diagnosed my vehicle and said i needed a new alternator, time belt and recharge battery, they did the work and charge me over 2,100. I left with vehicle after they finish work, days later my car wasn't starting when i stop by to do some shipping at whole foods i was stuck in the parking lot soni call a tow service and they arrive so they recommended to jump start my vehicle and it did start. I brought back the vehicle to this business again and they told me I needed a new starter, so i accept it during the process of it they said my starter needs a heat shield so i decided to do my own research i called dodge dealers and they told me they never heard of such thing so i told the business and they didn't want to be wrong so they kept assisting it did need one so i stood shut. During the process all i heard i have a funny feeling it needs this and that from the owner fred which i told him does are words that doesnt make me feel comfortable, as days when by they would call me that the connecter from my starter was broken so i was how is it possible it was broken then my vehicle would of never start and drove it from brooklyn to hunts point. Then days later they told me my antifreeze cap was broken also that a host that connects from the air intake to the engine was missing. I took a lost like a man i payed them the last labor work they did for my vehicle which was 1200$ as i was leaving with my vehicle i noticed a hit on my car which is to high for another car door could of hit it or a equipment of them would of hit cause it didnt had scratches, it only had a whole i brought this to the owner fred attention and all he told me ill take a look at it. Its been a month all ready and i havent heard from them. All i was getting is messages from them to leave a review on their personal page. I gave it time to see how there work was done at my car and know my car is over heating and making noises. Anyone wants to reach out to me and talk about his im a loyal person and honest. Got recommended to come here from my audio guy. The person I spoke with on the phone, Jimmy, was extremely helpful and quoted me price I was happy with. I showed up the day that was arranged, during a massive snow storm, and the shop quickly went to work on my car. The quoted price and time frame given to me by Jimmy was the same as stated over the phone. They do try to up sell or get more business, which is very common in all types of service industries. My experience was they simply pointed out areas my car needed attention, or thought it did, not knowing its maintenance history. The job was done clean and with no issue. My only gripe is that they didn't put back an alarm sensor on the windshield where it was originally located. Besides that, which is minor, I had no issues. After reviewing repairpal, I realized that there were some shops listed on the site. I observed the shops upon seeing the quotes and went to get my manifold gaskets changed. As such, i encountered Hunts Point Service Station, Inc., a place I had drove past on numerous occasions. As I entered the lot I observed a couple of mechanics getting ready to close shop. I told him what I was there for and the below start: The mechanic/ salesman indicated that How the job would be a big job and would costs a lot for that vehicle, he had to deal with rust issues on the vehicle, etc. At this point I advised him that I got a quote from repairpal and came there to get the repairs done seeking a reputable company. He stated that those prices would not be inline with his prices since he might have to extract some bolts from the manifold. We went to an in shop computer where he ran the program for the mechanic repair time period for the certain repair. The system indicated that the job would be 1.3 hrs per side. He said he would just make it 4 hours since the bolt extraction would be necessary. Upon completion, the mechanic advised me that the car needed an oil change and some oil since it was 2 quarts short. I was reluctant to allow any oil change be done there because he seemed more in salesman upsell mode. I realized that the mechanic only changed 1 manifold gasket ($25.17), failing to repair the passenger side. I further observed that he used old bolts in the exhaust manifold repair job. I was contacted by a female salesperson a day later and i discussed my dissatisfaction with the repair service. I also discussed my reluctancy to return to the auto shop since I did not want to be seen as a needy type person looking for something free. I honestly just wanted my car fixed by an honest, fair and reliable company. Office wise some of the people were great conversation and all. However, since this is business and not personal, it must be judge as such. It must be understood that customers are spending their money so the service and satisfaction must be up to standards. After the service, i did happen to see the company Yelp reviews showing similar disatisfactions. The price for the repairs exceeded the costs estimated by repairpal.com excessively totaling to 353.48 labor and $35.87 parts (1 gasket used).(Wonder what happened to at other new gasket, still have to buy another one for that repair now!) REPAIRS: 2002 DODGE RAM 1500, SLT, 4X4, 4.7 liter. Repairpal quote for both manifold gaskets was $188 to $248. parts being $17-35 bucks (2 gaskets). My 86 Nissan pickup runs like a champ, but the windshield leaked and was cracked. Standard windshield shops claimed ~$200 replacement, but would not guarantee no-leaking due to its age and expected rust. Hunts Point Auto S&S would charge the same for the same work, cautioning additional work (rust removal, welding, repairing) underneath would be likely for ~$600 total. They added an additional cost that reasonably appeared standard cleaning of the drains, etc, but deleted this after talking. Overall, they did a nice, professional job for the original price agreed upon. read more

Left CT, went there expecting i would spend less money, I ended up spending more money.. and check engine came back after 3 days.. email them to tell them, no answer back.. went back to see whats up, they just gave me something to believe. At some point mechanic was even ignoring me, trying to play slick. They didnt wanna diagnosis my car again.. talking about it would be another price. They will welcome you very nice at the door but wont negotiate no price with you. My car broke down and my insurance had it towed to this awful place. It's my fault for not looking at the reviews & ratings. The only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because I have to. At first everything was good. The owner Freddy (who refuse to give me his last name) was nice. We seem to be on the same page. However after doing some research and seeing he over charged me I brung it to his attention. His attitude changed, he had a lot of excuses. He started telling me about other issues with my car that had nothing to do with what we discussed. I was over it, we had words back & forth. I paid the price I was told. Asked for my keys and he THREW my keys at me. I have NEVER been treated like that in my life!! I would never recommend this place. How are you the owner of anything yet alone an business? I had a bad windshield breakage over the weekend. I bought the car in to Hunts Point Auto Sales and Service in their Auto Glass section and I met with Dean. I work in the area and it was 6:30am and he was able to get me in since he was opening up in an hour. He looked in the computer and found a new windshield for me. In the meantime, since I worked in the area, Dean was able to get someone to drop me to my office. He had the car ready for me within 3 hrs and he sent a driver to pick me up from the office to pick me up. He was very helpful! The window was installed new and within budget.
