These guys always fix our jeep and pickup truck on time, and with great care. My jeep was vandalized in the winter when someone poured sand into the motor. They had to replace the entire motor on a 20 year old Jeep, which is about as complicated as it gets. They found a good used motor, and put it all back as good as new. My car was vandalized. Someone stole my catalytic converter, my reverse camera was also messed up. So I called a few shops. I ended up going with #UPTOWNMOTORS and I am #Glad I did. I didn't get to meet everyone, buh #Richard took care of me. He was very #Pleasant and he had #Great #CustomerService. He worked with my insurance. I was able to get my Catalytic Converter replaced. He made sure that it was the proper one that wouldn't give me any issues in the future with inspections. They fixed my backup camera and they made a #CustomProtector for my catalytic converter. They just got a new customer for the rest of my repairs. They also do #Inspections in case you needed some where to do yours. ;) Richard was very informative. They gave me options. The shop also was accommodating. The jobs were done quickly. The #Price was #Honest and they didn't try to get me for extra money like some other places would have tried. It was actually better than I expected. They now have a piece of my heart as they saved my car from being totaled. They fought against insurance company to make sure I got the best parts. He really rallied for me. He was knowledgeable to know not to accept just the minimum from insurance. I value the work that they did. I love Andy & Karen @ Uptown. Found them on a Groupon, got on well with them. I gave them a shot as mechanics and they do NOT disappoint. All reasons listed below. 1. I live on the UES, they have no problem picking up and dropping off my car to me! This is HUGE. 2. They know what they are talking about. Andy is an old school NYer and has been working on cars over 45 years. I want THAT kinda guy to take care of my car. His knowledge is vast. 3. I trust them. Who trusts their mechanic? Me, because they never come at me with stupid or expensive issues. As a matter of fact, there have been times when they called to tell me it was a much smaller repair ($400 vs. $1500+). 4. Literally the friendliest people in NYC. Always available, always genuine and lovely. I was having particularly bad car issues but was using it at the time so I drove it to the garage myself (Its just over the 135th st bridge). They were so nice, they drove me all the way back to my house. See? Super nice. And pleasant. So yeah, I'd use Uptown if you want exceptional service. They are a diamond. read more

So glad to find them again, they used to be on East 84th St and we used them for years (decade +). Prices were fair, they always gave us the worst & best case for doing a repair (less extensive/more extensive) for our high-end car. Then few years ago, I drove down the block and noticed they were gone. Long story short, for last few years have used another uptown repair service company and they are definitely not as good. And increasingly expensive. Looked on Yelp to change out and found Uptown again! Yay. They now pick up and deliver for free. And same owners. Will be so happy to return to a reliable, honest repair service. read more

I wanted to full synthetic oil for my new car's first oil change, and I found Uptown Motors through a google search and Groupon. Karen and Andy are a husband and wife team. Karen is the gracious "front of house" customer service person, and Andy is the expert in the garage. The distributor messed the order up slightly, but Karen and Andy did their best to accommodate me. Richard, who did the oil change, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The shop is easy to get to in the Bronx, but it turns out they also offer pick-up and return for free, so I'll be using that next time. The prices are reasonable. I'm so glad I found Uptown Motors! I had a leaking antifreeze hose on a Friday afternoon and couldn't drive more than 15 mins without overheating. I called 10-15 places and no one would see my car until the following week. Until I called Uptown... I am so glad I found Karen and Andy. They were both so kind and accommodating. I drive an 84 Cutlass, and it can be difficult to find a mechanic that will explain the issue to you so you understand. The pricing is honest and they do not take advantage overcharging like most shops do with women.
