I…read morehave ordered twice now (once delivery, once pick-up) and am excited to have a new source for Peruvian items. I don't go too far out of my way to find things, but finding even Inca Kola at a store is exciting. I went to Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati last fall, and was pleased with what I found there (though I didn't see any Inca Kola??), but when my boyfriend sent me a link to this shop I was amazed to see all the products available! You can search by country, category, or brand. There are 219 Peruvian products currently - 219!!! The item I'm most excited about is ice cream - I never expected I'd be able to buy lucuma ice cream in Indianapolis. Luckily I found this shop right before my dad's birthday, and I ordered a number of items I thought he might like (plus some pepper paste for my boyfriend). He was very excited! We had some ice cream with his birthday cake. I wanted to get some things for myself as well, so placed an order for pick-up this week. There are currently morning and evening pick up times, so it's easy enough to stop by before or after standard working hours. I went inside and my order was ready to go; they'll also bring to your car if you call. Ordering online is easy, and they are very friendly and responsive. So happy to have another source for Inca Kola and so many other items! I've really only explored the Peruvian items so far, but I definitely will have to check out everything else they offer.

The staff were super nice and my waitress was amazing. I got there a little early so she made me a vanilla latte that was really good! I had the 56th street platter (bacon, pancakes, home fries and pancakes). I thought the eggs would be scrambled but they were still good. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the home fries. A little undercooked but overall the food for the price was good! While ordering, one of the servers came out with these amazing looking quiches! OMG!! I wanted to buy both the veggie and bacon ones so bad but I wasn't going straight home. The quiches were so appealing to the eyes; it's the perfect dishe if you're having guests for the holidays! I'm definitely going to purchase one next time I'm there. If you're looking for a nice spot where you can vibe or eat outdoors I would recommend this place. The clientele was very diverse and some people even knew the staffs' names...impressive! The desserts look amazing as well. Give this place a try. Parking is a little hard to navigate but it's a neighborhood spot you should definitely check out!

I have found the place to get my Christmas tamales! It's Tienda Morelos on Michigan Avenue. This…read moreone is called Tienda Morelos 6, because apparently there are at least five other Tienda Morelos in Indy? That's a lot of Tienda Morelos. You see: Tamales are very important to me -- they are a part of my DNA. So finding great tamales in Indy is very exciting, indeed. I happened upon Tienda Morelos because I was visiting a restaurant next door to this one. I popped in and found an amazing (although small) store that sells tamales and also pan dulce, fresh produce, chicharrones, packaged foods and more. All of the signs are in Spanish and everyone speaks Spanish, which is a great sign when you're looking for great Mexican food. The best tamales come from places where the people selling the tamales don't speak English, I've found. To buy the tamales, you need to pay at the front register first. You tell them how many tamales you want, and then you pay for that number. They give you a little slip of paper with the number of tamales you paid for. Then, you take your piece of paper to the tamale counter, and you pick which flavor of tamale you want, and the quantity. I got one pork and one chicken. They were both amazing: lots of masa but also lots of juicy meat. Not too much sauce, but also not dry. These are the best tamales I've eaten in Indianapolis so far. Tamales are just a small portion of the offerings at Tienda Morelos. They have a full panaderia in the store, plus a carniceria and other grocery items. The place is super small and slightly cramped, but the people are friendly and helpful, so it's a nice little place to shop after you've loaded up on tamales.

This new location was tricky getting to as you have to pass by it and then maneuver potholes and approach from the rear. There are several stores that looked alike, so we had to drive back around front, dodging construction to find. They have a drive-they window for picking up orders or eat-in dining room. They also have a patio that will be nice during warmer weather. The dining room is new, clean and interesting. We were comfortable during our short stay. The clerks were really nice, helpful and anxious to serve us. Reginald (Reg) offered suggestions. Subs averaged around $8 and are pretty big. You order up at the counter then they bring the food to your table. I had the Tuna with lettuce and tomato, served cold. The roll is really good and fresh without being too much bread. I like that the sandwich was a little chewy. The tuna salad was ok, perhaps a little drier than I like. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and herb topping a nice touch. I'd order it again. My husband had the Philly (Reg's suggestion). He had the sandwich hot, so the cheese was nice and melted. The steak was really good and the fillings were generous. We also shared an order of fries. The fries are really good, thinner cut and crispy. Bronze came over and checked on us. The staff is eager to please. We felt welcome. We had 5 star service for a chain restaurant. They cater and the sub trays look perfect for a tailgate or work lunch. All in all, they excel on service and the sub rolls. The sandwiches were good with fresh ingredients.
