You can't wrap up a day in New Orleans without stopping at Hurts Donut Company. At first, I was puzzled by the name, why would a donut shop be called "Hurts"? Well... now I know. Each donut is the size of a medium dinner plate! Holy cow. It kind of hurt after the three of us finished six donuts... but they were so good we couldn't stop eating. New Orleans does everything big and bold, but these donuts are something else. They're not overly sweet, the dough is just right, not too chewy, not too soft , just perfectly balanced. Hands down some of the best donuts in New Orleans. There are so many creative and interesting flavors. My favorites were the King Cake donut and the fritters. Go try a variety and find your own favorites. There's paid parking nearby, but if you're staying close, I'd definitely recommend walking over. Go hungry and be ready to understand why they call it "Hurts"!

Great variety of flavors and pleasant staff. The line moved quickly and everything was reasonably priced.

Donuts!!! Gut bombs, diet pills, dog nuts, loce handles, etc. Whatever you like to call them. Lots of incredible choices but I can't do the too-sugary options like I used to. Like the traditional options more now than ever. Co-worker had the Boston Cream and he said it was packed full of delicious cream. I chose the glazed red velvet and it was delish. Fresh, soft, and moist. Cool kitchen view area where you can see the bakers at work.

It's smells AMAZING! There's a large variety and I wanted to buy 12 and take a bite of each. But I didn't! I chose blueberry streusel, caramel coconut on chocolate cake donut and Boston creme. The blueberry streusel is divine. It's a blueberry cake donut and I don't think it even needs the streusel, it's absolutely decadent. The chocolate coconut caramel is on a chocolate cake donut, which is perfectly done and topped with caramel and coconut. I like it but the topping could've been more... wet. The Boston creme was so so so yummy. The yeast donut was so light and fluffy and the creme was light and sugary. The chocolate topping was thick and the very best bite. I want to go tomorrow and try the Bart Simpson, strawberry filled and Nutella filled! Definitely worth a stop in! 10/10 recommend!

Hurts Donuts blew me away--hands down the best donut I've ever had in my life! The texture was perfect: soft, fluffy inside with just the right amount of sweetness. The flavors are out of this world and totally unique. Whether you're into classics or crazy toppings, they've got something for everyone. This place isn't just a donut shop--it's an experience. I'd go out of my way just to get another one. If you haven't tried Hurts Donuts yet, what are you doing with your life?!

Large well decorated donuts. There are numerous flavors to choose from. Plus they are reasonably priced. Unfortunately they didn't taste as good as they looked. We expected them to be more flavorful. The sprinkled donut was the best, the others were okay, drier and less exciting. They are frosted well and have ample toppings.

This donut shop conveniently located next to our hotel so we grabbed some donuts after checking out. The customer service was very friendly. The glazed donuts were really big and delicious. The fruity pebbles tasted more like a donut stick than. The girls really enjoyed them.

I got the Maple Bacon Bar in the top right corner lol

Based solely off the big a** cinnamon roll...this place is really good! Literally one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. So many layers, not too much cinnamon, not a dry bite at all, just enough sweet glaze and it can easily feed 4-6 people easily!

You can smell and feel the vibes just by passing by this place. We walked pass Hurts Donuts on the way to Chapter IV leaving the Hyatt Regency, and the smell was making my taste buds dance, and my tummy sing. Walking back to the Hyatt we passed Hurts again, and this time we turned and walked inside. Hurts have an heaven scent you can not ignore. Service was really great! They have so many gorgeous decorative pastries. I just wanted two donut holes. Because I was so fully from Chapter IV, they lady handed me two donut holes and they just melts in your mouth. They are slightly larger than any other donut holes I've ever had. My friend still placed an order of a dozen and a half, and what ever else he selected. They have a 2.5 pound cinnamon roll, and no other cinnamon rolls to offer. that Cinnamon roll can feed a half a dozen of people. Only suggest I would make is possible place the donut holes in a tiny box, it was sticky on the outside of the bag when I heated them up for breakfast the following day... and they still as very good. I ate them with my crawfish étouffée, and they were paired nicely together.

Hurts Donuts is right beside my organization's New Orleans office. When visiting on a business trip, some co workers and I visited one morning. There are so many donuts to try! I went with the classic with maple icing. The donut was so good! If I'm ever in the area again, I'd stop by.

We just happened to walk by this place on the way to breakfast. They had so many flavors of donuts that it was insane. We got a half dozen of different donuts and that red velvet glaze was awesome. I would definitely recrecommend.

We were so excited to see the doughnut sign from a block away- we only had 10 minutes to catch our bus. When entering I was glad to see no one in line. The place was bright and cute decor. There we 3 people at the counter we told the we were in a bit of a hurry and started picking out doughnuts- the older lady couldn't find the ones we were pointing to and the two young ladies were counting the donation box money. They finally came over and showed her which one (even though we were pointing) Got our doughnuts after taking the box to close it ourselves. (Made the bus) The doughnuts overall were disappointing- the chocolate, chocolate mint and red velvet had tasty frosting but the doughnut part was Really dry. Glazed one was fresh and soft. Lemon didn't taste like anything. The best one was the sprinkle doughnut it had good flavor and fresh.

While staying at the Hyatt Regency, which is right next door, I saw this place one morning and the line inside indicated it might be a popular donuts joint, so I stopped in. I intended to simply buy a single donut, because I had to travel to the airport and fly back home in a few hours, but after looking at their very impressive selection of donuts in the display case, I opted for a half dozen instead. The lady working the counter was very helpful and their selection of donuts and eclairs and those types of pastries were amazing! I left with my box of donuts and everyone I encountered, from the place I ate breakfast to the airport commented on my box of "Hurts" donuts! Eveidently, this is a very popular place and rightly so, the donuts were amazing! When I got home, I had the éclair for dessert after dinner. I also tried their Andes donut (has Andes candies on it) and a peanut butter cup style donut and each were amazing! Highly recommend stopping in!!

First off, that honey butta hot chicken sandwich is so delicious. The spice and sweet and the butta is so rich and leaves a long lasting impression. That is the bite you'll be thinking about and returning for. But don't sleep on the donuts either! Normally I'm not huge on donuts but that lil peanut butta cup donut with the whipped peanut mouse and chocolate ganache...yeah ima need that. It's perfectly balanced with the bitter chocolate ganache, and the light mouse. Obviously, after you're eating all this, you're gonna need something to wash it down. They have an excellent selection of coffee and teas, I enjoyed their chai latte, which wasn't too sweet for my pallet. After I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the chicory ice cream spoke to me so I had to answer. Stopping here made for a perfect day of indulgence than walking up and down magazine Street and shopping. The staff here is so nice too! They let us come hang out back here after we were done shopping and needed to rest for a bit. Which was nice because this place has a decent amount of seating and a little patio in the back and some seats out front. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody. Who's in town in New Orleans!

She was polite and hospitable, and said she couldn't wait to see me. It was the type of interaction you'd expect from Chick-fil-a. When I arrived, a young lady, perhaps a teenager, took my order and quickly boxed up my two dozen donuts. Again, she was hospitable and patient. I felt valued, and not like I was bothering them for patronizing their business. The donuts were still warm when I got home. The family quickly devoured them. And the icing on the cake? Two dozen mixed donuts were only $22 including tax. Other donut shops and bakeries could take a lesson in customer service from this place. It's simple--either train your staff to interact respectfully and professionally with customers, or if they lack the people skills, consider placing them in roles behind the scenes where they can still contribute without impacting the customer experience. I'm talking to you Buttermilk Drop and Adrian's Bakery. Regarding ambience, it's seen better days, and it's in a sketchy part of town. And, yes, there was a car parked on the grass, almost on the sidewalk, in front of the store. Hehe! That said, it's a great value.

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.

What I got: Kaya bun (10/5) -- no sweetness whatsoever, just pure coconut pandan flavor coming through. Custard had the perfect consistency--thick, creamy, and has a slight egginess that, if you are familiar with dan taat, will appreciate--and did not leech any moisture into the pastry. Also love the choice of coating in dessicated coconut since it again did not add any sweetness and the fineness melted in your mouth with each bite. Pastry itself was buttery and tender with a slight chew crawssant (5/5) -- a seasonal item of twice baked croissant filled with crawfish and mozzarella.
