My apartment manager recommended I take my Audi to this shop when I asked her what places in the area can service German cars. I was surprised by how quickly the team was able to perform a replacement of a turbo. My car is performing perfectly after the repair! I did mention some other issues that I'd been putting off (unfortunately) and was quoted lower prices than I had elsewhere. Listen up folks!!! This place is legit & fair priced!!! Mario is the owner of this shop now not Paul!!! Unfortuately when Mario took over the business, the name is same for tax purposes! So, these bad reviews are from the previous owner except some guy paying 3k to fix his car & complaing about it ,,, stuff happens ! To women, you will not be able to find a car shop that will treat you 100% fair and worry about being over charged! My car is now past 150,000 miles and at the point where the parts are nearing their "end of life cycle" and naturally need to be replaced so I can enjoy more years of my car. They are very responsive and accommodating to my requests and always make time to answer my questions and make sure I understand the work to be done. Unlike the dealer, they never try to sell me on unnecessary repairs and will alert me of things that appear to be wearing down that will need to be addressed in future. Took my 2003 Honda in a few months ago bc of an oil leak, took incredibly long to diagnose and the mechanic went through every possible repair costing me more and more money and time. Finally settled on replacing all my seals and timing belt and water pump. Was positive of the repair. A few months later, I take my car to another place to replace my brakes; everything was leaking again, and much worse this time. This mechanic says the parts before were cheap and/ or not replaced in the first place. Disappointed. I took my car there because it do not pass smog. The work that was done allowed my car to pass, but the additional work suggested 1) did not remedy anything, 2) cost me over $3k, and 3) I had to go back twice for adjustments after the repairs had been done. The additional repairs did not solve any of the issues and I would not recommend this local shop. read more

I have had an excellent experience with Paul and his shop. I have an older 5 series BMW that is long out of warranty. He gets fixed what needs to be done, charges very reasonable or cheap prices (compared to dealers) and understands that I don't want a $1,000 or $2,000 bill every time and that I don't need the car perfect. There's a reason I enjoy not having a car payment and I don't need a bill to make the car perfect -- just safe and driveable. They know German cars and that's what they specialize in so I trust them for simple oil changes to more complex work. And they're honest. I've gone here for 3 years and he's been great. When I had an issue recur with the darn emission system (which has always been problematic), he redid the work at no charge. The place gets bonus points for funky mobiles hanging out in front made out of aluminum cans. So if your car is out of warranty, I recommend this place. It's not the shiny clean place like a dealer but it's got character and this is how they keep the costs down. read more

Their response that they JUST posted today is in response from my review SEVEN MONTHS AGO (I guess they use yelp like they use their phones). Their response they posted today is entirely lies & never happened with the exception of them telling me I had break problems, which happened ONLY after I CALLED THEM & finally got trough to them after THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK FOR 2 WEEKS!!! They either cannot keep their information straight, are incompetent or liars, or all of the above, either way, STAY AWAY FROM Husco German Auto Service!!! I must say I have been walking past this place since the early 1989's. Lol. I would have to walk by the place in my way to junior high school. Anyway, long story short, my husband and I moved front he area a long time ago, but we have a used BMW that needed work and we just so happened to be visiting family. So we called Husco. They took us in right away, fixed our car, had a fricken awesome professional attitude, and all I can say is, we will definitely be back whenever we need a car repair. I just started going back to Husco after stopping when a previous owner, Paul, retired. I went back after running into Nick, one of their long-time mechanics, and he told me they had a new owner named Mario who was very good. So I brought in my 2002 BMW 325i. I had been considering selling it because it had a lot of deferred maintenance and wasn't running very smoothly. Mario, Nick and the team got to work on it, and now I have decided to keep it. It really hasn't run this well in many years. The price wasn't cheap because it needed a lot of work, but I think it was well worth it, and I will continue going to Husco. Patrick R. read more

This was my 1st time here. Pro: Paul appears to be the manager there, he's nice, responsive, and easy going. My Mini Cooper was diagnosed quickly and work was completed in 1 day. He also offered me a discount for being a new customer. Con: completed work was not done properly, there was a leak and I had to take the car back for a follow up, which wasted my time. Paul was showed no sympathy nor offered any apologies. Overall, I would be 50/50 coming back here. read more

My great-aunt sold me the Karmann Ghia that I used to drive when I was 16. From the time I switched to a `93 Civic (in 1997, i think), the Ghia had been under a tarpaulin in my grandfather's driveway. So, after 11 years on blocks, I figured it might take a little work to get it going again. When I moved to South Pasadena (and no longer had a garage to store my cars in) i had to register the ghia and once i did that, i figured i should get someone to look at it. went to husco, because it's walking distance from my house. "Paul" who greeted me was certainly friendly, although super-difficult to understand thru his thick southeastasian accent. He agreed to rebuild my carburetor and clean out my fuel tank and lines. He was a little vague about the price. he finished by the next day -- and charged me $460. (kinda expensive, if you ask me, but i was glad to pay it to have my car running again.) a few days later, though, the car wouldn't start, and when i looked, the fuel going thru the filter was totally black. in the fuel system i recently paid $250 to have cleaned. well, AAA sent a twacked-out tow truck driver to get my car, and i thought i'd deposit it on the street outside husco and ask them to take a look at it the next day (it was like 9 at night.) when i got to husco, there were a couple of guys inside drinking tallboys and watchin teevee, and he happily let me put the car in the garage. "what's wrong with it?" i showed him the fuel. "need to clean the fuel system" i explained that i had only just paid them to do precisely that. he said they'd look at it. i didn't go back for another week. went back today, they're like "it's done" -- they fixed the fuel system ("won't break again," they said). they fixed the parking break. they adjusted the valves. the car's never driven this nice. I'm definitely satisfied with the outcome. (so far.) read more

Not really sure how to rate these guys. I live around the corner so when my battery died and I wasn't confident enough to drive it all the way to my (amazing) Burbank mechanic, I dropped it off here. They are nice. And definitely, um, laid-back. Pretty much just smoking, drinking coffee, and reading the paper. And there's always a guy who doesn't work there hanging with the crew. But hey, they replaced my battery. Charged me appropriately. Did it within 2 hours (did I mention they're laid-back?) and got me on my way. It was a completely acceptable experience. My AC wasn't blowing cool air anymore. I took it to two different mechanics who gave me the same estimate of about $750-$850. They both said I need to replace my compressor. My brother in-law suggested I take it to HUSCO before I make any decisions on the other mechanics. Mario informed me my compressor was working great, it was just a minor issue. He is fair, knowledge and skilled in his trade. I have known him for over 10 years both personally and professionally. I brought in my car because it overheated on the freeway and when I pulled over I saw the serpentine belt was off. Ok, so I figured I need a new serpentine belt, and probably water pump too. I get it towed here, and the owner gave me a quote a couple hours later. He called me yesterday and said they need to do a revision but never told me on what or how much it was going to be. First quote he gave me was $691 which I was fine with paying. But when I picked it up right now he said it's $1100 because they had to change out my radiator and that my radiator was leaking and had no fluid in it. I know 100% that wasn't the case when I brought it in because I had it parked in my driveway overnight and saw no fluids at all. So either they broke my radiator changing my water pump/radiator fan, or the tow driver did but I also didn't see any funds behind my car when it was being towed to this shop. I would never recommend a place that does shady shit like this. Wish I could give 0 stars read more
