I have worked many times with Deans and have been happy with their services. This time, I had an…read moreelectrician named Luke come out to bid a project to get rid of the knob and tube in my home. He was incredibly friendly until he wasn't. He was overly familiar with me and would trade one job for another ("don't worry, I'll take care of you, I'll take the cost of these 5 outlets and trade that to install your doorbell"). By the time work was done on my house, the walls and ceilings were full of holes. I didn't have power to multiple rooms. He took a hammer to my asbestos ductwork. He then said he didn't have a crew for the rest of my job but would finish it on his own the next week. I never heard back from him. Then I lost power to a couple other parts of my home. My main complaint is with how Deans handled this situation. I felt very pressured to have Luke come and "fix" his mistakes, even after I said I didn't want him in my home again. I was told the holes and trenches cut into most of the surfaces of my home was "normal". I wasn't allowed to talk to any customer service but one guy, Jamie, who would berate me for my choices ("why would you have electrical come before framing?") and try to talk me out of finishing items I had already paid for. The crew that came to fix everything found that Luke's crew hadn't taken out all of the knob and tube, had wired outlets incorrectly, didn't install the ground wire in a ceiling light correctly. Every workman that has come in my home has remarked on how many unnecessary holes are in my walls and ceilings. I have been told multiple times that the ductwork would be fixed, and have not heard back. I have been told I'll get calls the next day and have not heard from them until I call. Customer service has hung up on me. It is constant passing blame, there is no accountability. When you charge top dollar and guarantee your work, this is NOT how you treat customers when something goes wrong. They refused to complete the work I originally paid for saying that the original bid just said "custom project" and so I can't prove the scope of the project. Considering this was a $30k job, I would expect deans guarantee to mean something. I feel incredibly taken advantage of.

Awful experience with DEANS…read more -------I do NOT recommend DEANS --------------- I usually give 5 star reviews, but I couldn't wait to tell people about DEANS poor service----------- The plumber (Colin) could NOT clear (he did get it to drain somewhat) my floor drain (drain from washer, and under kitchen, on the basement floor). Colin tried to up-sale me on several different treatments/options, all of which seemed unneeded to me. Felt like a canned sales pitch. He tried to get me to get the kitchen drain cleared - completely unneeded - the kitchen drain drains fast and complete, AND it's SUPER EASY for a DIYer, like myself, to clear out - I've NEVER had a problem with my kitchen drain, been in my house for over 20 years. Colin did manage to get the basement drain to flow a little, but water backed up when using the clothes washer/draining kitchen sink, etc. Dean's outfit charged me $430 to "poke a hole" in the sludge buildup in my drain. ENTER RON the Sewer RAT - absolute HEROS. I simply told Jon, their plumber, to clear my same floor drain. I didn't tell him about Dean's until it was all done. Jon cleared the drain in one hour. Flows great. Jon did NOT try to upsale me on ANYTHING. Jon said it was good to go. RON the Sewer RAT only charged me $237. Yep. On the invoice, Jon simply stated there we sludge buildup. Nothing special. Common router end used "double 1.5 inch blade" RON THE SEWER RAT scheduled a visit the NEXT DAY, was SUPER PROFESSIONAL, FAST WITH THE FIX, took the time to explain everything. DEAN'S did give me a discount refund to lower their charge to $237, BUT IT SHOULD BE $0 since they could clear the drain with a simple tool like Jon from RON the Sewer Rat used.
