Fantastic store! A list of things i love about hyvee: the market place variety in food, the whole place is so well staffed it's incredible (especially compared to Cub- where check out lines are the norm), prices, the fuel rewards card, one stop-shop.. Pharmacy, liquor store, grocery store, bakery, restaurant, ect. Lastly, at this particular location i was so impressed to see a manager outside running carts in on a hot day wearing his dress pants, shoes and shirt. Its cool to see a manager help out as needed instead of just telling someone else to do it. read more

The second HyVee in the Metro I have been glad to see this company moving into the twin cities. After first experiencing them in Rochester, I was always a little bit envious that we didn't have them in the metro. When the Oakdale location opened, we were quite pleased and began our monthly sojourns. This new location is similar in many ways to the Oakdale location. My favorite is the produce. So many choices and such nice food. It was packed when we went there, but it was opening weekend. read more

This store was not worth the destruction of the nationally-recognized gem that was the Historic Terrace Theater. Shame on Hy-Vee for not thinking win-win. Generally, I love this grocery store. But I'm am perplexed by the bakery department. They make really fancy-looking desserts but use non-dairy whipped cream on almost everything. Nothing tastes right because it's all chemically instead of buttery. The desserts look expensive and are expensive but they taste cheap and unnatural. I really hope they fix this and carry at least a few real-dairy desserts. read more

Hands down best grocery store shopping experience you will have in the cities. Super clean, modern design, and friendly staff always going out of their way to make you feel welcomed and to see if you need any help! Their premade foods don't look sanitary at all! I actually got severely ill from their fried chicken! The focaccia bread is not covered in a sealed case and I often see flys landing on it. I would reccomend the breads and bagels be all closed in a clear case so flies dont feed off of it. read more

I used to only go to Cub foods and Lund&Byerlys or trader joes. But now it seems like I only go to Cubs for couponed items and that's it. But Hyvee has an awesome selection, its always clean, customer service is second to none. The meat section is amazing with the dry aged steaks and my favorite the tomahawk ribeye that is such good quality. I do a chacuterie and cheese party at least once a month and they have everything i need in one stop with a good selection. No one carries lardo but them! read more

The hot deli area needs better supervision. Bunch of local teens, staring up and down at my 13yo daughter, foul language, ignoring customers and giving inconsistent service. Told the cashier, but it fell on deaf ears. Not impressed for the prices they charge. read more

I love this store. The only thing negative that I have to say about it is that it is always so busy! And really, thats not a bad thing - it just means they're doing something right! All of their employees are very friendly and accommodating, they have beautiful displays, and wonderful selection. 5 starts for the Sunday Buffet, 3 stars for weekday lunch. The Sunday Buffet is awesome. The prime rib is high quality, and the other items they have are also excellent. There isn't a huge selection but what they have is good quality, and I find enough that I like. The price is very reasonable considering when I went they had smoked salmon, prime rib, and shrimp cocktail. Only thing a bit lacking is the dessert selection, but that is personal taste and I don't really go to Sunday buffet for dessert. We then went for lunch. The menu is just okay priced. I had the burger - they claim it's the best burger in town, I wouldn't agree. My burger was just okay. Good price for a 1/2 pound burger. (I did not get the Wahlburger option, I think those are much pricier for what you get for obvious reasons). I got the California burger which had guacamole, bacon, and sriracha honey sauce. I got the sriracha sauce on the side and was glad I did as it was VERY spicy, I did not use it. The bun was soft and fresh but a bit big - and I thought it was a bit too sweet for a hamburger bun. I kept feeling like there was something missing in the burger, perhaps not seasoned enough? I kept wanting to add salt. Maybe because the bun was too sweet. So it was okay. The tater tots were excellent, light and crisp outside and soft inside. The thing that really made it a 3 was the service - we did get a server to take our order right away but after we were done we sat for a really long time with empty plates and it took like 15-20 minutes before we finally got our check, even though the server kept walking by us and the restaurant wasn't that busy. It's like once you got your food you turned invisible. There are some other food items we might try. read more

Stopped in for a short shopping trip . Were out of most of the items I was looking for. The store looked like it had not been stocked in days. Filled out survey and asked for a reply never heard back. Not sure why they wouldn't contact back after they asked if I wanted to be contacted. Not to mention there were 5 grocery carts sitting out with what was supposed to be frozen ribs. I'm not sure how food safety that is. read more

What a great gem in the suburbs. The produce department alone had me at hello. It's gorgeous and my kids love it. The bagels are delicious, the smoothie bar great. We bought imitation stuffed crab mushrooms and salmon burgers both plain & Asian flavor to grill. They were just not good. The liquor store has some hang ups with prices And such- I know it's new & kinks have to be worked through. Overall I am happy to see this great place so close to me. read more

Prices are a fair bit more expensive than Cub Foods... However, the variety is quite impressive, the staff helpful, and the store could not be cleaner if they tried--I mean, you could quite literally eat off the floors. On the things that make me not give it 5 stars: they are still massively understaffed at checkout lines (if you need a job, ask for a cashier job--they could use more cashiers!), the prices are a fair bit higher than, for example, Cub Foods and the ready-to-eat offerings are so Americanized, if you had hoped for somewhat authentic Asian food, I'd advise you to go elsewhere. I've tried several offerings and the main taste you'll get is soy sauce. :( Otherwise, a rather impressive store. (Just the selection of imported olive oils left me wanting to come back!) read more

I have been beyond impressed with every single employee I've come across at Hy-Vee, without exception, and I've asked for help many times. My only complaint is that the store isn't closer to my house! I told my husband that any time I'm having a bad day, I'm going shopping at Hy-Vee. When I went to get milk it had expired dates, dated to expire that day, and some dated to expire in two days. :《 then when I went to get vegetables some had mold on them, :(. the fruit looked terrible especially the musk Melon . The store is great, but my wedding cake experience was not. Apprently the person who I designed the cake with quit the store, and no one had contacted me to confirm details. I had to make several calls and stop in to get things taken care of. Then the day of the wedding, the cake was not as discussed and was not level. Even with a different design, their professional cakes should be straight and level. Not anything to worry over on my wedding day, but very dissapointing. read more

A co-worker highly recommended Hy-Vee to me. So when this location opened I checked it out and the experience was and continues to be great! I shop at Hy-Vee all the time now due to the great staff, store cleanliness, and quality of food that is available. The employees are willing to assist and seem happy to work at Hy-Vee. That atmosphere has me coming back to Hy-Vee more than any other grocery and hybrid-grocery stores. read more

I haven't been overly impressed with this store in the first place but today was the last time I will set foot inside. I wanted a couple of nice ribeye steaks. They didn't look great to me, so I looked at all of the other meats, including the prepackaged ones, but gave up and returned to the ribeyes. One of the workers came over. I said I would like the steak third from the front and another similar one. He started grabbing steaks randomly from the back. I said, "No. I want the one third from the front and another that looks much the same in terms of marbling and fat." He grabbed a steak and started wrapping. I asked to see the second steak. He seemed put out by that, but showed it to me. I said no to it. I told him again what I wanted. He got very agitated and started slamming things around. He said, "You have to see the steak before I wrap it?" and I said yes. He grabbed another steak and held it up. I said no to 2 or 3 steaks before he took time to choose one similar to what I had chosen. He started wrapping again, and then I wondered if he had shown me the steak I had chosen again instead of the second steak. He was not at all happy about me being fussy and was telling me so. I just didn't have a good feeling about what he was wrapping up, and asked to see both steaks. He SLAMMED them on the counter for me to unwrap and look at. As I did so, he was telling me that he didn't have to show me ANY steaks, that I shouldn't come to his meat counter and expect to "act like this." By now, I was not at all happy about the service. And he started chiding me, "You're mad? You're mad? What you got to be mad about?" I replied that I was not at all happy, and that I did not appreciate the way I was being treated. He continued sputtering. I reminded him that he is in the service industry and that customer service should be a priority; that his attitude was not acceptable. He then went off on a rant about how he didn't serve his country to come back and be treated like this. By this time, he had me going. I said his service to the country had nothing to do with his job behind the meat counter. (I can appreciate veterans, but not customer service like he offered.) As I walked away, I could hear him complaining about to a co-worker. He was not using kind terms about me to say the least. I walked back and said, "I can hear you." He informed me that he didn't care if I could hear him and he didn't care what I thought. I suggested that maybe his boss would. He said, "You go ahead. I don't care." (Meaning I think, that he didn't care what his boss might think.) As I stood in line to check out, steaming, and decided I did not care to spend my money at that store. I started returning things to their place in the store when I came across a manager. I told him about the encounter. He did apologize for it and ask the employee's name. I left the rest of my items with him and left the store - for the last time. There are just way too many grocery stores for me to risk being treated like that again - including a Cub Foods right across the highway where I found exactly what I was looking for. Mr. D.S. at the meat counter needs to realize that those of us spending our money there are providing his job - and that we DO have the right to choose the steaks we prefer. read more

Arrived at the market grille that had a 30 minute wait. We decided to walk around the grocery store to kill time. All the employees were really friendly and helpful. The experience at the restaurant was not so great. There were staff EVERYWHERE, yet our entire table consistently had empty drink glasses. The server would ask "how's everything going" as she passed by but didn't stop to hear an answer. The food was good for the price. I am giving three stars for the food. The service was definitely one star and ruined my experience. I've never had a server hand me a plate of food directly. Not only my plate, but the plate of everyone on my side of the table so we could pass it down. This was also done with drinks (when we got them). At the end of the night we actually had to wave our arms and flag people down to get the check. Considering an employee passed our table every thirty seconds, it was frustrating to sit with empty glasses nearly the entire meal and surrounded by plates that should have been cleared. Perhaps I will try the restaurant again when they have been open longer and the staff have more experience. read more
