Went here based on fellow yelp reviews and (as usual) I wasn't disappointed. They were open on Saturday (until 5pm). Super fast (20min) and relatively cheap ($35 for my Yaris). I got to watch the entire inspection and they electronically sent the information to the DMV (I brought my registration renewal with me) and gave me a hard copy to keep for my records. I had a horrendous experience trying to resolve an engine light issue following an oil change from them. I came back to start that conversation and get to the bottom of the problem, and I also felt the owner would be concerned that the car read low oil pressure. He said he did not want to touch my car and that he wouldn't be held liable for any issues following his work, and that I already signed on the dotted line. Then he said he would diagnose it for $175, which is higher than the $125 others have quoted on this page. I have never been so insulted. I am pro-small business and am never eager to jeopardize someone's livelihood, but this one star is warranted. read more

The place appeared to be packed, there was not a garage open but I stopped in to see what my prospects were and was helped immediately. Great customer service! I love this place. Before I found Hyarcs (through a friend), getting my car checked or serviced for any reason was very stressful. Reason being, I don't know anything about cars, what kind of maintenance I should be doing and getting, and how much I should be getting charged. So, I jumped around from place to place not really pleased with the service or the charges. This place is great because they explain everything, do not waste your time, and are very up front with you about what is being charged and why, which is nice when you are totally clueless about cars, like me. Great Shop, Great service.Have been using Hyarcs for years. The guy practically saw me grow up, as my dad was a customer with him for many years. My family has been using Hyarcs for pretty much every automotive repair needs. My 1993 W124 Mercedes coupe, with about 282,000 miles on it, is running great, because of the years of service we had with Hyarcs. He has repaired everything from a misaligned driveshaft, to blown head gaskets for this car. He is very knowledgeable, has good connections with suppliers and distributors for parts, And has good relations with many of the major car dealers chains in the area. So he can get parts for a better price then most shops. I have personally learned a lot about cars over the years from Jack. He is very professional, will fix the car the right way, generally using OEM parts, and fix the car in a way the factory intended. My old Mercedes is a testament to his service. He will do things quickly, and get the car back to you as soon as he could. If more repairs are needed, he will always let you know. He's very professional and has been for years. I had a pre-purchase inspection done on a certified preowned Honda CR-V from a local Honda dealer here. Car looked pristine and had a clean Carfax report with no reported accident. However, the mechanic was able to find that the car went through a small accident and had some parts replaced. He even found that a clip was missing underneath the side, which I had the dealer install for me afterwards. This made me realize that a pre-purchase inspection by a third-party mechanic is very much necessary if the car on sale is used regardless of whether the car is factory certified. I work in Pasadena and did a quick search for a smog station and found these guys, I wanted to go in on my lunch break and drop off my 2001 Honda Accord to get smog-ed while I ate nearby. I gave them a call before I left work and told them I was on my lunch break, the man on the phone told me that there was no one there at the moment and that I would make it back in time. Upon arrival I was greeted by a polite man and he already knew who I was so he went to the office and got all my paperwork done very quickly. I asked if he knew any close by restaurants and he named a couple within walking distance. When I got back my car was smog-ed, parked, and waiting for me. He informed me that my tire pressure was low and he corrected it for me, I paid the price he had quoted me, which is the lowest in town, and was on my way back to work. Great place if you own a newer or low miles vehicle. I brought in 2 older model vehicles (1995 and 1994) and both did not pass one because it smokes a bit when it gets snap and the other cause it has a small odor of gasoline when its running. well What do you expect from a Carburetor? Body throttle or fuel injector will not smell unless there is a leak. anyhow don't recommend if you are driving an old or high mileage car because you will not pass. read more
