Do not stay here!! I had $300 cash stolen out of my room. House keeping admits to being in my room, even though i had my do not disturb sign on the door. When i tried to speak with the GM of the hotel, on 3 different occasions, I was given excuses, on why she couldn't speak with me. I finally was able to speak with a manager of sales, by the name of Denise. She was rude, didn't want to hear anything I had to say. While i was in the middle of speaking to her, she got up and walked away, like wharf i had to say was not important. Talk about bad guest service. Not only that, everytime I needed towels or toilet paper, it took them over 45 min for someone to bring them to me. Do not waste your time and money on this place. HORRIBLE experience! read more

This place was amazing!!!! The staff here is exceptional...from the parking lot to the front desk to the back kitchen...The people make this place great but the rooms were huge, really nice, comfy beds, nice large TVs with Directv, no crappie hotel channels. The breakfast is great...close to everything. Jennifer, Freddy, Kelly, Zelmy, Rosy and Hope were all above and beyond and whoever is management needs to be applauded because these guys are obviously happy which means you guys are doing some good things! Had to stay here for work. So to their credit, they are not set up for extended stays like a marriott residence Inn. Nonetheless, I was happy to check in for my two week assignment. Friendly staff, cute decor and that's about it. Here are the negatives: smelly rooms, sucky wifi and apparently not enough parking spaces? Now that's bs especially if people are getting charged for parking. On my first night after a very long day, I was told that the lot was full. Some of my coworkers had to find street parking. I've stayed at many Hyatt's over the past 13 years. They were always worth the money spent on the rooms and the service. But this place was an over priced dump. I ended up paying over $400 to stay there one night. I figured it was because I got a king suite. When I got to the room, it almost looked like the inside of a cheap motel. Room was in no way a suite, bed was old and rock hard, linens were the same you would find in a motel 6. When I booked the room I was quoted $299. They never told me that they charge you to park in their parking lot, they charged me a $75 pet cleaning fee, which was also not made clear upon check in. We were really only in the room for about 8 hrs, our dog didn't pee or poop in the room, and she does not smell or even have long hair. She is mostly a house dog, and gets bathed once a week. I'll never stay at this place again and to be honest it put a major sour taste in my mouth about Hyatt hotels now. There are much better hotels to stay at in Riverside, I suggest that anyone reading this please beware. You will not get what you paid for read more

Just like home only cleaner and better breakfast. The staff was very accommodating for our large group, letting us use their meeting rooms twice for team gatherings. Parking lot is secure and there are many other amenities. New Years was a blast because of this hotel. My friends and I planed on spending it at proAbition so we got a booth there with a package that included a room here. I was surprised at how nice the room was. It was a regular room and I felt like we were in Vegas but not really cuz we're in riverside. Hyatt charges $15/minute for long distance phone calls within the US. If that doesn't tell you how Hyatt makes its money (by hoping that you'll fall into this --or one of the many other hidden-fee-scam) traps they've set for you, you should definitely make reservations there so you can experience first-hand what it's like to be ripped off and treated like a sucker. The management did not even have the guts to speak to me when I attempted to get in touch with them. They know what they're doing is predatory. I was impressed with this hotel which is fairly new to the area (I usually stay in boutique hotels when I travel). Check-in was seamless. The room was modern, spacious and with granite tops. There was a coffee maker, small fridge but no microwave (need to request). Aside from the double queen beds, there was a sofa bed. I had plenty of towels and pillows for my sister and I. The toiletries were always replenished. This hotel is PET FRIENDLY. The cleaning staff were accommodating when I stepped out with Rover. Yes, there is a daily parking charge but there is street parking if you take the time to look for it. There are 80 on-site parking spots including the disabled parking spots. There is also an over-flow parking area across the street. Complimentary breakfast is included. I was satisfied with the variety. Fresh fruit cocktail, Oikos yogurt, cottage cheese, variety of cereals, oatmeal, English muffins, breads, scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, Tazo teas, coffee, OJ, apple juice, milk and a milk substitute. There was water flavored with lemon, lime and/or fruit throughout the first floor. The complimentary cookies were a nice surprise! The gym was adequate with all necessary equipment: treadmills, elliptical, stationary bike, medicine balls, and a work-out bench and hand weights. Of course, towels and earphones were provided. The pool was satisfactory. It was in the center of the hotel which I did not mind since I do not care for Looky Lou's. I was able to get enough sun shine during the day. There were enough lounge chairs and tables and chairs with umbrellas around the pool area. There is a business center on the first floor with complimentary printing and use of computers. Also there is free wi-fi. The staff was professional, personable and genuinely friendly. We were always greeted by the front desk, maintenance, cleaning staff and by the parking attendant. There is PLENTY to do in downtown Riverside. The Fox Theatre is across the street which has concerts, plays, comedians, etc. There are numerous restaurants and lounges (walking distance) such as ProAbition which has open mic on Tuesday nights, and DJs during the weekend. Mezcal is another spot with DJs. Aurea night club is fairly new. Sevilla is A MUST! There is live gypsy music with a flamenco show. Need something more casual? Try Alice Lake House or Heroes. There are numerous galleries and museums that are also walking distance from the Hyatt. The Kelly spa is walking distance. Golf anyone? Right down the street heading toward the 60 fwy. read more

This hotel is by far THE WORST experience i have ever had. In town for a Grad school commencement, booked one night and left a note that I would be traveling with a pet. Called to confirm they knew I was traveling with a pet. At no time did anyone ever disclose to me that there would be; a $16 parking fee, and a $75 pet fee. That makes the room anywhere between $200-$300. For a place where homeless people are trying doors on the lot you pay to park in or get towed, and people book and then go pick up sex workers to bring in after the booking is complete. Tried speaking with the manager who refused to acknowledge that he poorly trains his employees and encourages non disclosure of predatory fees. While waiting 30 minutes to check in we watched the front desk waive fees for the couple ahead of us, yet the manager refused to work with us on an exorbitant room charge for an unsafe place to stay. Johnny Freese, you have the worst customer service skills and to become belligerent with a customer disputing your practices and denying that a chain hotel has a corporate contact is disgusting and shows me exactly where your employees learned to lie. I sincerely hope this place goes out of business. Riverside would be better off without it. read more

She anticipates our group needs before we even ask. The room was decorated for the holidays and Karla went out of her way to make sure it was festive and fun. Don't stay here. No charm, no food, no Chardonnay? We wanted to order room service; we are hungry , at 9 pm the kitchen is closed. My husband has an injured knee, so we couldn't walk to a restaurant. Service is really good here. Amenities too, although I did not take advantage of all of them. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I have been at this hotel for months while a school I attended used their facilities, and I can say, they are very consistent.(I only stayed one night while doing so) I do love the fact that the beds and pillows are some of the most comfortable out there, so you don't wake up with a stiff neck. I love Hyatt's and have had good experience with them. Definitely check out the Mission nearby and for good eats, Simple Simons for sandwiches. I had to follow up my review from my last visit. Work put me up here again for 4 days. As usual the room was awesome and service was fantastic. But this time I was really disappointed in a few things. First, request a room facing the courtyard, being close to the hospital means ambulances go by and will wake you up. Also, the military did runs down the street at 5 am and were super loud. Secondly, the food was a big disappointment. I was surprised with the friendliness of the staff and felt the truly desired to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable. Every staff member I ran across would stop what they were doing just to say hello and if I needed anything. The front desk staff, especially Eboni, went out of their way to get me in and out. The rooms met my expectations based on my location. The rooms extremely large and comfortable. Although the furniture was a bit dated. The tiny fitness room was busy, but from what i saw, the limited equipment was modern. The breakfast met my needs. The parking was an open lot and cost about $10 per night. My family and I stayed here for three nights over the forth of July weekend. The room was very large, nice and clean. The staff was always attentive and helpful. The free breakfast was delicious and varied every morning. It was my best hotel stay anywhere. I stayed overnight at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I requested an early check-in, which they accommodated. However, I was not able to make it. They have free wifi, which is a must for me. They had free WSJ and USA Today. The breakfast was ok, but it met my needs. I highly recommend this hotel. The one star missing was due to the family upstairs running around and my neighbor, being a little loud. Next time, I will stay on the top floor. read more

CHECK FOR BEDBUGS This hotel has bedbugs so if you do decide to stay here, check your room for signs of bedbugs. The mattress may be clean but they can hide elsewhere in the room. We didn't notice any issues until we saw lives ones on the last day, and I developed bug bites all along my arms. Bites can take days to show up if your skin reacts at all, make sure you don't bring bed bugs home with you. read more

I have worked in Hospitality for over 8 years of my life. I have worked the front desk, valet, PBX, bartender, and concierge. So, I like to think I have an above average understanding of a well-run versus a poorly-run hotel property. I would say without a doubt, that the Hyatt Place Riverside downtown is one of the poorest run properties I have ever visited in my 32 years of life. Please let me elaborate, my business partners are Hispanic and we did some shopping and secured a very good room rate, at a price below market value at a time when the hotel happened to be 100% occupied. When it came time for us to pay for our second night, the front desk refused to take our MasterCard for payment. The lady at the front desk said that they do not take MasterCard as a form of payment. Let me tell you, if you have an opportunity to book elsewhere while in Riverside, it may be a wise decision to do so. Moments like these remind me how blessed I am to no longer have to work in the hospitality industry with tyrannical management! Please do yourself a favor and when you see the Hyatt Place Riverside downtown.. run, run very fast and in the opposite direction! Unless you prefer rude, rakish and racist bereavement from the front desk staff, in particular Cat, the lady with ugly tattoo on her neck! The rest of the staff was suburb! If I could give negative stars I would. First they don't tell you about the separate fees you have to pay like 1) the room fee and 2) the parking fee. Not to mention that when the parking lot is full you have to park across the street in a parking structure. We had to carry all of our stuff from there. Is $600+ not enough to get free parking? The breakfast (if you can even call it that) is subpar. They don't even try. They have cereal, eggs (that look like sponge and have a weird texture while eating them), sausage, waffles (that were basically stale. It's like they were from the day before and heated them up the next day), bread (with only at least 3 choices), and oatmeal. While we were checking out they were trying to charge us again the $600+ (even though it was already withdrawn from the account) because their system said we didn't pay. Someone threw up in the elevator and it took them at least 45 minutes to clean it up. And they didn't even clean it up well. They still left some on the floor. And I'm pretty sure they have bed bugs because I woke up with bites on my arms. read more

Stayed 1/27-1/28 for a job interview. Property is in a great location. Rooms are roomy, and cozy. Many restaurants within walking distance, and depending on your room location - you may end up seeing those beautiful mountains. I gave it 4 stars,, b/c at check in, I was asked if I had a vehicle, which I didn't, and upon check out i received an invoice for $12 for overnight parking. The front desk did remove the fee, and it was not charged to my credit card. I love the flavored water near the elevators (just keep it stock with cups :)), I wasn't able to enjoy breakfast - my flight was at 8:30, and flying out of Ontario is easy, but traffic is the unknown, but there were guests enjoying a nice spread.
