Unfortunately, when we checked in, we found the hotel under major renovations. While we were made aware of these renovations in an email, they were supposed to be finished a week before our arrival. And there was no mention that the pool was completely closed. We ended up canceling our reservation at checkin and booking another hotel. Very good location in downtown Riverside, less than five minutes away from the RIVERSIDE superior Court building. Although HOTEL is under construction, it does not interfere with the professionalism of the staff and the accommodations. However, the water in our room number 329 never got hot, but was Luke warm for showers and the other faucet. If the water was hot, then the room with two queens and a pullout sofa would have been nice enough. There is a refrigerator in the room, but lacks a microwave. The breakfast that is provided is doable but do not count on being full service. It is Continental at best. parking is on site and that I believe is $25 a night. Because we didn't get hot water that fee was waived which was very good customer service. It looked as if the hotel is changing out all of its bedding, including mattresses. The lobby is being renovated, and the grab and go will be up and running after renovation are completed. Once the renovations are completed, I would return to this site for simple lodging for one or two nights at best. read more

Drove from Arizona to Southern California for the weekend I typically stay in San Diego but due to a music festival going on I didn't want to make that two hour drive so I booked here. I've worked in hospitality before and I travel a lot so but I would not recommend stayed at this hotel to friends or family or anyone. I feel as if no one here cared from front desk to the hotel front office supervisor Jeremy Smythe. I woke up the next day on my check out date to find a bed bug on the pillow next to me. Immediately called front desk told them the situation and all they asked me to do was take a picture and offered me more pillows I told them it wasn't necessary because I was checking out. I simply asked if they could just pick up the pillow because I didn't want that bug in the room nor would I think a hotel would want that lingering. I went to shower while my friend was watching tv on the couch waiting for someone to come up and get the bug out of the room by the time I got out I asked if anyone stopped by and she said no. Not maintenance, not housekeeping, not anyone. Meanwhile when we were getting ready we could see the bed bug crawling from one side of the bed to another. Mind you I woke up at 9AM and we checked out at 11AM, two whole hours and no one came to get rid of the bug which leaves a bad taste in my mouth showing how your guests are cared for. No one here knows how to handle a situation as such or how to properly accommodate their guests. Once I checked out I showed them the picture and advised to shut down the room because there's bed bugs running across that bed. The whole time we were getting ready and even after checking out we were itching all over because of the fact that we slept in the same bed as bed bugs. I'm really hoping that room 225 was shut down upon checkout because I wouldn't allow anyone in my hotel sleep on a bed with bed bugs. Front desk can even emphasize with you all they are trained to say apparently is here is my managers card go and email him. I emailed the manager two weeks ago when I stayed and the only reason I'm just now writing this review is because I wanted to give him time. It's now been a week and his response to my email was him asking for my number. I have my phone on me at all times and not once did I get a call back from him. One week was more than enough time. If I can't sleep in a hotel room, then it's not worth a single cent to me. An important measure of the competency of any business is how they respond when something goes wrong. The management here fails that criteria. I stayed here while on a long road trip, meaning I needed to sleep to continue driving safely the next day. I didn't/couldn't sleep bc at 1:30 AM the smoke detector in my room kept going off. So no sleep. In the morning I requested a simple late checkout to catch some much needed sleep before driving and I was flat out refused. The room and management were an epic fail. We recently stayed during the Festival of Lights . Although we had a reservation, we were told the parking lot was full and turned away. I had to call the front desk who were extraordinarily unhelpful and we were told to go to the overflow lot 2 blocks away. We tried but could not find it . We ended up paying $50 just to park at the Marriott across the street where the staff was kind . We missed our dinner reservations. I had a bad experience at this location. I booked this spot because my friend had reserved rooms for his wedding. I made two reservations under my name and another friend of mine added me to his room so I can get his room key should he not make it in time. The staff had mixed our reservations and dropped one of my reservations while merging another. I can see this being confusing but what was worse was that the staff made it out that it was our fault. The staff mentioned to us that they were fully booked but was seeing what they can arrange yet another person who just came in was able to get an upgraded room due to inconvenience. When I addressed the issue with the staff about how someone was able to get a room when the place was booked the staff was not able to answer. Eventually, after almost 1.5 hours of waiting, the staff found a room. I asked if we can get a discount and the staff said no. I told the staff that it was their fuck up to which the staff asked to end the conversation since I used profanity. The next day the staff provided one of the rooms that I reserved a discount. Aside from the interaction, the place was clean, tidy, and other staff were friendly but I don't think I will be coming back as I had at least three issues with the staff. read more

I had to stay an unexpected extra day waiting for my car to get finished at the mechanic's (another review, but if you're in an emergency need in Riverside/Moreno Valley, go see SCS!). They graciously gave me a later check out, and stored my copious luggage/items when my car wasn't done as hoped. Also, earlier in the stay they were most helpful in getting our hospitality suite set up and navigating our 48 rooms. Shout out to Michelle, Aaron, Jonathon and Henry at the Front Desk (yes, there was a lot of interaction!), as well as they're I believe maintenance man/engineer/he was everywhere!, Nevin. All so pleasant and accommodating and helpful. And while I didn't really interact with any of them, the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job keeping the place very tidy, including our suite. I was very disappointed from my recent stay. It was not communicated that they don't have daily cleaning unless you ask for it. We were only booked for 2 nights, so on the 2nd day, we left the hotel around 8 in the morning and didn't return until about 8 that night. We were shocked that our room had not been cleaned. Upon inquiry, we were told that we were informed at check in (we weren't) that daily cleaning was only upon request. Needless to say, cleaning the room at 8 pm was not an option and we were totally exhausted from the long hot day. I guess we had a higher expectation from a Hyatt establishment. In the future they should consider posting a tent card or something along those lines in the rooms to inform guests. I'm sure it is their intention to tell every guest at check-in but it is inevitable they will have some misses. However the guests shouldn't have to pay the price for their shortcomings. I was also not thrilled when arriving back to the hotel that night, there was no parking available. Staff informed me "oh yeah, Fridays and Saturdays fill up fast. The overflow option was quite a walk for someone with mobility issues. On another note, the staff was very pleasant. They stick to the script and are polite, but they're really not problem solvers. Perhaps there should be an adequate supervisor on site 24 hours a day to assist when there are issues. For over $550 for 2 nights, we will consider other options next time we are in the area. read more

VISIBLE BLACK MOLD. DO NOT STAY HERE. I never write reviews for places, but this was the worst hotel experience of my life. Stayed in town for a weekend. Arrived very late on Friday and the room was decent, but after less than 20 min in the room, me and my friend both began to break out in hives and my eyes swelled shut and throat nearly closed. I knew the hotel was pet friendly, so I thought at first it was from cats. I am allergic to cats, she is not. I called downstairs and they told me cats were not allowed. I asked if we could switch rooms at 4 am because I could not breathe or see. They let us switch right away. We were told we were getting an upgrade. Moved quickly and exhausted. Other room was exactly the same- not a big deal, I was fine. However, the next room was just as bad AND HAD MORE MOLD. VISIBLE MOLD. I have been trying to stay out of the room as much as possible (even though it's 40 degrees outside) just so I can breathe. Called the front desk, just to ask for allergy medicine or something and they couldn't move us again, nor had medicine so I had to spend $60 to order from 7/11. The cherry on top was that they lost my phone charger that I left in the old room and told them immediately about. I was also told that because I booked through a 3rd party, there was nothing they could do about a refund so I could go stay somewhere else. Everything looks and smells like mold and I know FOR SURE that the place is covered in it. Front desk people were nice enough to let us switch rooms first, but then offered NO RELIEF and my entire weekend was ruined by no sleep and still may need an ER visit as I can't leave for another 8 hours. read more

Don't let the exterior walls fool you. The room was disgusting! Definitely Motel vibes once I opened my room door. The room smelled like cigarettes and the air was off. The room was stale with a sink on the outside of the bathroom. The sofa looked disgusting and stained. I connected to the slow wifi and booked myself a room at the Mission Inn 5 minutes into checking into the Hyatt. The manager declined to refund my 1 night stay after informing them of my concerns using Hotels.com since my booking was done there. I definitely do not recommend staying here. Don't let the valet outside fool you into thinking this place has class because it 100% doesn't. read more

What an odd combination of great and not so much. We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights, on a family visit and remain puzzled to this moment over whether it was a good stay or not. First the good: breakfast. It was surprisingly tasty and high quality. Far better than the typical continental breakfast served at hotels. Fruit was fresh, bacon was well-prepared, and options were plentiful. Parking was made easy too, both by a convenient lot and nice attendants. Also good were the snack bar and wide-smile friendliness of the front desk staff. But the desk staff friendliness isn't the same as helpfulness, as it turns out. For example, when we booked the room the site indicated that a rollout bed could be requested. Well, apparently it can be requested but that doesn't mean the request can be granted - when we asked we were informed that they don't offer them. Period. There was no follow up of "but here's what we CAN do...." Just, sorry, no such thing here. Our son also called the front desk to ask for the wifi password. He was informed it was on the check in card. Again, no helpful follow up like "here's the password, and if you forget you can also find it on the check in card." Just, go look on the card. So while it's accurate it's not particularly helpful, especially as he didn't have access to that card. The room was ok, roughly what we expected but not quite up to normal Hyatt standards somehow. No specific complaints though. It was fine. And the bed was great! Overall I think the experience at this hotel could and would be a lot better if they trained their staff to actually respond to and provide what people obviously want rather than just doing the bare minimum to answer a question. It's like if you ask your teenager "could you please help set the table?" and they simply answer "yes" and then do nothing. Technically they've answered the question but it also obviously falls short of what you want to happen. Asking for help with something usually means you want actual help instead of merely an answer. read more

The Hotel is beautiful, the staff are pleasant the rooms were clean. ( although they might want to take up the carpets and take out that old couch) but we had our service animal with us so I'm sure that had something to do with that. The Pool was extremely nice to dip in. They have an outdoor shower so you can rinse off before and after you hop in and out, but the shower head is broken and water sprays everywhere from the shower-head. (just a heads up!) Breakfast was half self served and half served. You could get items like juice and oatmeal and like the toast and fruit yourself but the main dishes like the eggs and potatoes or whatever meats they're serving, someone behind a glass served it to you. That's fine and all until you're waiting ten mins for something sitting in front of you. I love how the hotel is in walking distance of the downtown riverside area. Did some shopping Went to some of the restaurants there it's a beautiful place. Highly recommend. Oh on a random note: might not happen on the night you go but there was random people outside that let off fireworks in the middle of the street in front of our room. I am a Marriott guy but I liked this hotel. It reminds me of a Sheraton 4-Star and you get a nice living area on top of your sleeping area. A must is to sign up for rewards as this will get you complimentary breakfast. The location is great and the hotel is well maintained. read more

I found my one night experience there to be both pleasant and incredibly frustrating. First, the positive: the bed was comfortable and I slept well; the staff who helped me were friendly and efficient; the location was perfect. And now the negatives: it is a non-smoking hotel but apparently that does not include all types of smoking as the odors overwhelmed me as I walked down the hall to my room; the hair dryer was in a drawer by the bed as opposed to on the shelves by the sink in the bathroom--which was clearly not weird as when I called down to the front desk, they told me where to find it; the breakfast was sad; and it is 2021 and the room does not have USB ports for cell phone chargers (I had to go out at 8:30 at night to pick one up--I guess my fault for not checking, but again, 2021.) All of those weird things will have me staying elsewhere the next time I visit Riverside. read more

Rating is heavily due to a very uncomfortable bed and feeling like things werent as clean. We woke up exhausted from being unable to sleep on the tough matress. The hotel is in a great location! Staff is very friendly and helpful!! The elevators and room just dont feel that clean, not in the sense that they werent cleaned by the staff but moreso perhaps the hotel itself is a bit rundown, at least to what we expected. After having stayed there I dont think it is well priced likely better priced at $99/night, but may be a better fit for others. Appreciate the speedy checkin process. read more

A two star experience! I wish that there was a way to give 5 STARS to the staff, and 1 star to the property itself. For the cost of two weeknight stays, with a % off through a travel site, the price was ridiculous for this experience. I expected much much more. This property looks updated and fresh from the street, even somewhat in the lobby(if you're not looking too hard) but the king room was terrible. From the moment we walked in, the couch was orangey/brown 20+ years old and I couldn't even bring myself to sit on it without putting a blanket down. And I'm no princess ok far from it, I camp, I sit around the campfire in the woods no problem, but nope not on this couch. Yuck. The sheets were clean, BUT the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable(motel 6 beds are better) no sleep really. Not dark at all in the room, the curtains are ridiculously short, like I said, think Motel 6 curtains. If you know you know. The room hadn't been updated since this place was whatever it was before Hyatt put the fancy sign up and painted the outside stucco just to fool everyone into thinking this was a normal updated motel building! So we spent +270 a night plus $20 to park. If I had known that the rooms were from the 1990's I would've skipped it all together. The positive side was that the service was awesome, everyone at the front desk was super nice. The service staff in the dining room also were really friendly. I can't blame the staff for the old decor, so I want to make that clear, staff was awesome from check in to check out. So my terrible review is to call attention to the Hyatt Companies, because putting your name on this place has changed the way I will look at your properties in the future. Definitely taught me to check out Yelp first. There was a torn up post card in the room that said renovation is coming in 2024?? But I looked at multiple reviews and this place has been a dump for years, they know it. So hopefully I have helped someone out, at least you know what you are getting into, a time warp to the early 90's side of the freeway dump motel. read more

EXCELLENT VALUE! Loved the room. The comfort, space and amenities. Stayed with my family of 4 including our wild-eyed toddler... who had an absolute BLAST playing hide n seek and taking "rides" on the 4-wheeled ottoman haha. Courteous, personable and professional front desk staff. Room was clean and inviting. The beds were comfy/cozy and the linens were fresh!! Ample TV channels available. Great WiFi. Best hotel experience I have had, I I travel a lot! Room was spacious, clean, and the hotel staff was friendly. A smile and hello from every staff member. The cleaning ladies were super nice. Check in wasn't until 3pm and they let me check in early at 1130. Their Monday check out is 12pm which was a delight! I took advantage of sleeping in with my ear plugs instead of catching their continental breakfast which ends at 930 on weekdays. Really happy with my Groupon purchase of $107 for the night. Definitely disgusting motel vibes!!!! When you enter through the back door by the parking lot, it smells like moth balls. So musty and gross. The rooms are old/outdated and smell like moth balls too. The bed was uncomfortable, the air conditioner had a weird smell, the lights were so dim, and it grossed me out to touch anything. I even showered with my sandals on. The carpet had a stain on it, the curtains were dirty, and the walls by the sink had splashes of who knows what on them. The area it's in, isn't all that nice. I also woke up with bites on my shoulder and some part of my back, I'm pretty sure this place has bed bugs. Made sure to leave my luggage and whatever I brought there in my garage because I do not want that in my house. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Do not waste your money. read more

Nice people and that is as good as it gets. The hallways and rooms were dirty. Not sure they own a vacuum cleaner here. Not sure the age of this place but the carpet has never been cleaned professionally. Bring shoes to wear around your room. If you book a meeting here, they will agree to serve the meals in or near your meeting space. However when you're actually here for the meeting, they change their story. You have to eat in the small restaurant instead. Meetings are booked with the meals per day as a separate item yet you'll be served the same "free" breakfast as you receive with your room. Walking distance from the convention center, his cool historic hotel, restaurants, a farmers market, and other helpful things like CVS and SBUX. My room faces the inside courtyard / pool area and was super quiet. They charge for parking and the lot is pretty small, but they have someone out there to help you find a spot. Room was clean. Windows open. Plenty of floor space to do yoga. I'd come back if I was in the area again. read more

Rates for Market St. facing rooms should be deeply discounted. Parking is on flat lot - no shade. City of Riverside requires parking fee so cannot be waived. If I could leave no stars I would, upon arrival at the hotel, the rooms were not ready, which I must say were very over priced. Rooms were not as clean as they describe, false eyelashes were found near sink, dusty headboards, not only did they not have the reservation ready the manager at first they only had 1 room for my family and myself, originally 2 were reserved requesting joint rooms or rooms across hall or next door, instead rooms were down the hall from each other, after asking for some type of reimbursement the management stated all she could do was waive the $16 .00 parking fee. Surprised that I found the Hyatt Place on Yelp, because the internet makes no mention of this brand new hotel. Anyway, I was very pleased with my stay at the Hyatt Place. The size of my room was adequate and the bed was big, fluffy, and super comfortable. The bed linens were soft to touch. I also liked the pillows. I especially liked that the hotel was walking distance to downtown, which is a good thing. As for the breakfast, it's included in your stay. It actually quite good. There are many selections from the buffet, most were healthy. The Hyatt place reminds me of the Holiday Inn Express, because it's a hotel for the business traveler who wants less frills and more business related services. The Hyatt Place is way better than the Holiday Inn Express. The electrical outlets are in right place. You can even practice your presentations on the TV that can hooked up to your laptop. I like that the hard wire internet connection is available in case you forgot to bring your own cable. Guess what? WiFi is free!!!!!! You don't have to pay extra or sign up for a rewards club to get it. WiFi is connected all over the hotel including the gym and pool. The gym is small, will decent cardio machines that have led monitors to watch the news. The swimming pool is a decent size to swim a few laps. However, the pool area is surrounded by the building so sunbathing is no option. I do like the lounge area, because of the computers, printers, and large LCDs to watch sports. My overall stay at the Hyatt Place was fantastic for business travel! I would definitely return. read more

The Hyatt is always my go to place to when traveling. This hotel is in a great location. My daughter had a Tournament @ the community college which is about a mile away from this hotel. The hotel was nice and clean upon arrival, front desk staff... ehhh , room was nice and cozy. There is a parking fee, not sure what it was because we got lucky and found FREE street parking nearby. Breakfast was the best thing durning our stay, the staff working that area kept up with the food and made sure everyone was happy. My only gripe was we got a room on the Market Street side and if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room on away from Market Street. You literally hear every car and person walking by (and we were on the 4th floor). Stayed here for a night when we had a morning brunch to attend at the Mission Inn (which is just a block away) the next day. FIRST TIP: On the weekend, there is free parking available at neighboring street meters. We were informed of this when we arrived to check in and the lot was full. Lucky us! We literally parked a few meters away from the paid lot for free all weekend. The staff were all friendly and everything was clean. I wasn't all that impressed by the free breakfast, but hey, they tried. Plus, you get what you pay for. At least it was nicely laid out. This is your typical Hyatt Place, located within Riverside's downtown. I didn't really feel the front desk went an extra mile to be magnificent or the hotel was glamorous, which is why I am listing it as "A-OK." I found downtown to be quaint, as it is peaceful and the buildings aren't very tall. I didn't really walk around at night by myself though because there's not a lot of foot traffic. Nevertheless, I was able to find restaurants and a grocery store within a short driving distance. Check-in was a breeze. I had a one-king bedroom for $333.78 (including taxes) for two nights. The room felt very familiar with its L-shaped couch, small fridge, and the basics (bathroom, closet, work desk, etc). The hotel has free Wifi, and I think if my memory serves me correctly, parking was $10/night. The fitness center was okay. There's a couple of treadmills, a bicycle, and some free weights. Bring your headphones, as you can watch a limited amount of channels on the built-in tvs (different than your room channels). There is also a filtered water spigot in case you want to refill your water bottles. Breakfast was decent. It's nothing like a free Doubletree breakfast (e.g. eggs and bacon), but it will suffice. There were your typical breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, cereal, beverages, etc. I do like Hyatt Place because they have Tazo tea (same as Starbucks), and I gladly helped myself to the mint flavored tea. This is hard to find at other hotels, even at Hyatt House or Hyatt. It's the little things that count! read more

Me and my girlfriend stayed in a suite here on Tuesday night to Wednesday. We both woke up with bites everywhere !!!! I contacted the manager and I was told they would send a inspector to go check it out and it would take 2 days . It honestly isn't about the money it's more the safety at this time and making sure it is clean !! I'm not sure if they are flees because they are dog friendly. Here for a wedding party so the rooms were cheaper and we were all around each other so that was good. The service was alright. But you have to pay $12 a day for parking . Normally we just hop into bed and go to sleep but when we got home from the wedding, we pulled down the covers to get in and our sheets had blood on them. Totally gross, we called the front desk and they brought up new sheets which was fine Cause at that point we we're so tired we didn't want to change rooms( not that there was any to change to) The rooms aren't sound proof, you can hear everything that is happening in the other room and when ppl knock on your neighbors door, it sounds like they are knocking on yours. I should have left a review last week but I was waiting on the hotel to reach out to me which they did not. I stayed for 4 days for business.. within those 4 days not one time did i receive nor was i offered fresh towels. After 2 days and my garbage can were not emptied, I had to literally sit it outside the door to have it emptied. Then on my 3rd night I sat down on the couch in my room for the first time to eat, I immediately started to itch. I then noticed I was out if toilet paper. I called the front desk and they say that they don't have a supply that I needed to wait on housekeeping at 8am. So know it is Friday morning my last day I wake up with bug bites all over my body.. probably the couch and I still have no toilet paper. I again called the front desk at 830am and after being on a very long hold they again say I have to wait on housekeeping, so I hung up.. they could.care.less. then 5 minutes later someone finally brought up toilet paper.. I did call after I got back home to talk to the manager whom said would call me back. And here I am a week later with no contact from the hotel at all.. it took days for me to stop itching from all of the bites.. never again will I stay here. read more
