I can order food and drinks through scan with my phone, or walk up to the pool and snack bar. I like to come in the morning to start with a coffee drink and a book. If you want more richness and privacy you can book a private cabana with tv and curtains for extra $$. Free parking is included. Super friendly service! Julia and Paige treated me like royalty! They suggested a blueberry pomegranate slush, with or without alcohol. Amazing and delicious! Thank you ladies! Excellent service and attending to me! I recently attended a concert at the amphitheater for the first time, and it was such a great experience. The outdoor venue is the perfect size (not too big) so you have a good view of the stage no matter where you're seating. Though I didn't stay at the hotel, I was impressed by the level of service. From the moment I walked through the lobby to ordering drinks at the bar, everyone I encountered was so welcoming and friendly. This place was a hit for my fam of 3 (2 adults and 1 3 y/o boy). We're local outside of LA, but wanted to do a staycation for Father's Day. For Friday - Sunday of Father's Day weekend, it was around $900 after taxes and fees. I do agree with other reviews that the rooms could use some upgrades based on the price point of the place, but our room (632) didn't have any major visible problems. There are 3 pools on site, with the one nearest our room designated as the one for kids with a water park-like slide, splash pad, and a hot tub. We spent almost all of our time here both days and our son loved it. The pool water was really cold, however, but that's to be expected when it's barely in the 70s outside. Just be aware there aren't any lifeguards anywhere. It was at this pool where a lot of the daytime activities were held like limbo, twister, and tattoos/bracelets for kids. We were able to find chairs both days without an issue. The poolside bar and food prices weren't bad. The day we spent the most, I think it came out to around $100 with tip for 3 mixed drinks, a kid's meal, and some chips and queso. We all loved our son's PB&J meal. We ate multiple meals at the restaurant, but sat in the bar area since it was more kid-friendly. There were kids in the restaurant, but it was a very upscale vibe and we didn't want our rowdy toddler disturbing anyone, so we sat in the bar area at the same table for every meal. That worked out because we could watch the World Cup games in there. The restaurant food was surprisingly good and fair on price for quality and quantity. We were really surprised by all of that. I ate the same salad twice because I loved it so much, and my husband and son loved the burgers. The breakfast burritos were bomb, too. I don't know why so many people complain about the self-parking situation. The "hill" people were referencing in reviews I read ended up not even being steep enough to be called a ramp, let alone a hill, and was maybe 1.5-2 basketball courts away from the front door?? The parking lot is super close to the front door if you park on the side nearest there (which is furthest from where you swipe your room key to get in), and we had no trouble at all getting our bags inside from there. Make sure you park on the circle drive first and go in and get your room key because you have to have that to swipe into the parking lot. We were a 12-15 min. drive from the beach and even closer to Balboa. We went near the beach the 1st day to watch the game and walked around, but honestly stayed on the property the rest of the time because there was plenty to do there. The first issue was finding a spider in our room, which my husband had to kill. On top of that, our room was located right next to the exit stairwell, so we dealt with constant noise from guests coming and going. As Hyatt members who have enjoyed staying at multiple Hyatt properties, this was not the level of experience we've come to expect. When I asked the front desk if we could switch rooms, they said they were sold out and will spray the room. I went back to check again on the situation because there was no follow up . They said they found another room but is was going to be downgrade from the room we had been assigned. For a room costing over $500 per night, this was incredibly disappointing. I decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency for Memorial Day weekend. The front desk staff has been very friendly, the service from everyone so far has been excellent, and I will say the room itself was nice. It was clean and comfortable, with convenient amenities like a mini fridge, blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner, reliable internet, and an easy valet system where you simply text for your car. You can also text to request towels or other items, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, the biggest issue has been the overwhelming smell throughout the property where the guest rooms are located. The odor is extremely strong and smells like mildew or fertilizer to the point that it has been making me physically uncomfortable. When I asked about it, I was told the entire property had recently been fertilized, which is apparently causing the smell. I genuinely do not understand why this would be scheduled during a busy holiday weekend when guests are paying premium rates to enjoy the property and outdoor areas. The smell is unavoidable throughout the walkways leading to the rooms and even around the pool area, making it difficult to relax or enjoy the amenities. As I'm writing this, the odor is still overwhelming. For the service alone, I would give this hotel 5 stars. The staff has truly been excellent. However, I deducted 2 stars solely because the horrendous smell completely ruined the ability to enjoy the outdoor areas, including the pool and outdoor fireplace areas, which are a major part of the experience here. I will say, as I was checking out now, John was nice enough to waive the resort fees given the smell and that was greatly appreciated. read more

For the past six years, I have stayed in the same room at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach during the annual Newport Jazz Festival. Because we reserve the same room year after year, I've had the opportunity to see the condition of these rooms decline over time. Unfortunately, this year's stay has been especially disappointing. The lack of deep cleaning behind furniture and fixtures is very noticeable, and quite honestly, the condition of the room is unacceptable for the premium rates charged during this event. Friday through Monday stays during the festival are far from inexpensive. One recurring issue is the refrigerator, which has never worked properly. We report it every year, yet the problem remains unresolved year after year. As loyal guests, we expect better. At these prices, guests should receive accommodations that are clean, well-maintained, and fully functional. If improvements aren't made, we will seriously reconsider where we stay for future Newport Jazz Festivals. It's definitely time for some renovations, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. read more

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you're on vacation. My friend and I recently stayed for a mini staycation and had a great time. The property has multiple pools, cozy fire pits, a cute restaurant with decent food, and even a golf course. It was easy for us to settle in and enjoy ourselves and relax without ever leaving. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. While there were a few cosmetic updates that I noticed could be made, the overall experience was excellent and these didn't detract from our experience. The pool area was definitely my favorite place to spend the day. There are three pools and hot tubs (particularly a very large hot tub in the main pool area). It was also incredibly family friendly with a slide and lots of space for kids to swim and play while still offering quieter spots for adults to relax with a book or enjoy the sunshine. Newport is such a cute area, but I loved not having to leave the hotel to have a good time. I would definitely go back to this property for another staycation sometime! read more

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. At around $500 per night, I expected a much higher standard of accommodations. Instead, I was placed in the LIDO building, where the room was old, dated, and in serious need of renovation. If you're considering booking a stay here, I would strongly recommend avoiding the LIDO building. I've stayed at several other Hyatt properties, and the rooms and amenities have consistently been much more modern and well-maintained. This experience fell far below what I've come to expect from the Hyatt brand. The only reason I'm giving this hotel 3 stars instead of 1 is because the customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, professional, and did their best to provide a positive experience despite the condition of the room. For the price, this hotel simply doesn't offer the value I'd expect. Until the older rooms are updated, I can't recommend staying here--especially in the LIDO building. read more

My company booked here for conference that was being held here back in October. It was busy trying to check in. The lines were long and the check in area was crowded. I didn't get my room for a few hours. The hotel grounds were nice and huge. Lots of walking to get to run, trainings, etc. The rooms were a little dated. The bed was said to be queen but it was way smaller. The shower and toilet were literally next to each other. The staff was friendly. If needed i would stay here again. read more

The Hyatt hotel in Newport Beach is located on Jamboree and is right against the Back Bay so it's very conveniently located next to Fashion Island as well as for recreation in the Back Bay. It's also only like 10min from SNA Orange County Airport. The rooms were semi-recently renovated, the staff is nice and helpful, and best of all the grounds of the hotel are gorgeous with tons to do! The hotel offers activities such as movie nights and also hosts Newport Beach wide events such as the Jazz festival. There are multiple pools at the hotel and one has a splashed and waterslide which is super fun for kids! They have a giant chess board, shuffleboard, tennis courts, pickleball courts and also a golf course that is all complimentary to use if you're a hotel guest! It is Valet or self park only and the parking rates are a bit high, the rooms don't have the best sound-proofing and the hotel restaurant isn't that good; but those are really the only negatives about the hotel. I have stayed here and had my family stay here multiple times and everyone always enjoys it and wants to come back! read more

We had a nice stay here. The property almost felt like a resort! I loved that our room had a balcony and was close to one of their three pools. The pool we enjoyed was the serenity pool, which is supposed to be one of the more quiet ones. They play relaxing music and it was pretty low key when we were there. I don't know why they just don't make this pool adults only though because a couple times people brought little kids and it didn't really seem appropriate for the vibe they were trying to create. There were also kids on scooters going around the pool right in front of people's doors late at night which I think should shouldn't be allowed. Overall it's super family friendly though! The main pool had a slide and they even had a family movie night the evening we stayed. Our room was just OK. Beds were comfortable but our mini fridge wasn't really working and there was a huge spider that came out of our shower. Don't expect luxury, but overall it was decent and the room was clean. I liked the fire pits and large games available throughout the property. The front desk staff and bartenders were very friendly. We didn't try any of the restaurants but you are able to order postmates to your room which was nice. The grounds of this hotel make you feel like you are somewhere else! Very green and lush with plants and trees. Golf carts are available to to take you around if you self park ($40!). We walked to Balboa Island from the hotel which took us about 20 mins. I would stay here again and recommend it if you are looking for a little staycation. read more

There's good and bad about this hotel. We stayed here because we have a boat in the marina that is right across the street. The hotel grounds are very big and the do a nice job of maintaining the facility. We paid extra for an ocean/marina view and had neighbors who were extremely loud, partying and threw their trash around the hotel at 7am. This seems to be a place where people come for parties or events and wasn't as relaxing as we had hoped. As far as the room it was more of a 3 Star experience. The bed was uncomfortable with thin sheets, walls were thin and very loud inside. We expected a lot more from this property. Employees are nice and good food and beverage options. Unless we had to stay here we will try another hotel in the area. read more

It was ok but not great. Rooms are a bit rundown. Tv wasn't working, phone not working. We booked 2 rooms and both had issues. Lido rooms there is no elevator. They should state that somewhere on the website. The worst part was racist guests! They were horrible and rude against my family who are Mexican. Had to call security twice! We had small children subject to drunken racist language and behavior. Never will visit here again. $3000 to be called racist names and threatened. read more

The fitness center pool was too cold for laps on this visit so I skipped it. I also watched several guests check the hot tub and walk away. It was barely lukewarm and the jets were not running. Afterward I looked through recent reviews and saw the same complaints going back months, so this does not seem like a one day issue. If you come here mainly for the pool and spa, this matters. Saw an Instagram reel by Brooke.and.Ben and had to give this Hyatt NB a try. The hotel is cozy, airy and conveniently located with all the restaurants, shopping and beaches nearby. The pools are nice too. And the drinks are so refreshing especially near the pool. We ate at their SHOR restaurant and the food was delicious. The seafood pasta was one of the best we ever had. It was so hard to get sleep because families are at the pool all day or are staying near by. The rest of the property is fine. The restaurant is decent. I had a burger and sweet potato fries which were surprisingly good. The fitness center is small considering how big the property is. The rooms were dated and it did feel motel like walking through the halls. I found some debris in the room and a dead bug in the balcony door so they switched me to a different room. The Drybar hair dryer and pharmacopia toiletries were nice touches. The staff were friendly. When there was an issue they rectified and addressed it quickly. Overnight outdoor parking was pretty steep at $40 and there weren't any alternatives. You have to go up a slight hill to get back to the lobby from the parking. There were three pools and a gym with Peloton equipment although the login wasn't fully working to use the features. Plenty of outdoor seating to choose from. read more

I really hate to leave this review because I really wanted to love this place as I used to. I'm a long time customer and it's definitely not what it used to be. We got a suite and The Motel 6 looks nicer than this walking into it. It's old. It's dated. It does NOT feel like a $800 room. The bathroom looks incredibly old & fixtures barely hanging on. The view is the only nice thing that I can say about this review. We also dined at SHOR and ordered the artichoke dip. It looked like old, cold, dry hummus. Unfortunately I don't think we will be coming here again. For the prices they charge per night - a nice room remodel is much much needed. read more

Sorry to say but my experience with negative because i didn't know to expect my room service in a paper bag. When I ask about it, I was told "that's how we do it here" I could have survived if it weren't cold. When I asked about it, i was directed to the main manager here twice and he said Absolutely no refunds or credits. Too bad he didn't look at my bill, I spent over $1,000 here. Maybe that is not enough these day. A little credit would have gone a long way. Just know room service is paper service now and if you are not happy expect no compassion or credits. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are dated but pleasant. The bed is too stiff for me personally. The sound deadening does not exist, the hallway creaked when you walk like a 100 year old building, the people upstairs weren't exceptionally loud but woke me up late at night and early in the morning. I heard the neighbors only when they were leaving, and I heard a guy trying to get a midnight booty call across the hall knocking and knocking. All of the easy access nearby parking is reserved for valet. If you have a stroller or wheelchair, self parking is far and not accessible, you will have two curbs blocking your access. The valet took my keys and tried to take the bag out of my car when I asked for my keys back. I didn't realize this was a we take your bags to our room and everyone does valet type of place so I didn't have cash for tips outside of the maid. The common places of the hotel look upscale but the rooms look like an established again hotel. My dinner on site was fine but service was so long I skipped breakfast, didn't want to be late flying out. I would stay here again the next time I am in town for work but I would eat elsewhere read more

The room they gave had a horrible smell to it. I didn't want to make a fuss to change rooms. Then the heater didn't work so they sent someone in fix it but was unable. That's when we moved to another room which was so much better. Kinda disappointed that they put us in a room like that to begin with. This hotel is functionally a motel with a few "nice" decorations. Parking lot is open air at the bottom of a hill; good luck dragging your luggage up to the lobby. My room was basically a motel room where people walking by could see in, and the curtains didn't even shut all the way. No bath tub. Freezing cold, heater didn't work and thin blankets. I bought a latte from their coffee shop and it tasted horrible, like rotten horrible. I was also served stale food twice. read more

Loved our stay here! The main lobby is beautiful. My hubby and I enjoyed our stay here and found everything to be great and in working order. The bed was very comfortable and it was easy to request things like extra towels via their app. I also love the feature where your phone is your room key. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
