I did a really deep dive into the replacement batteries, and saw many warranties in the 3-month to 6-month, for the standard $600-$1000 that seems the going rate- so assuming that I'd get 1 day beyond those warranties, or worse yet, would those companies still exist after 3-6 months to honor that warrantee, so I decided to spend a few more hundred, with a company that's been around a while, and does nothing but hybrid batteries. I opted for a 3-year warranty and now have a piece of mind that I'll be good for the next probably 5 years- And, if per chance we decide to sell Mighty Mouse, every possible buyer would be much more apt to buy with a better battery- Plus who in the world wants to spend $4000 at the dealer? I honestly cannot say enough good things about Sabastian! About a month ago, the 12 V battery died in my 2012 Prius, so I had AAA come out and replace it. Then a few weeks later when I was driving home from work, all of the lights on my dash came on with a message that said to check the hybrid battery system. I barely made it home as my car was stalling. I called AAA to come back and check thinking it was the new battery they had just installed. The agent determined that it wasn't the new battery, it was the hybrid battery that needed to be fixed. I went online to research replacement hybrid batteries, and I came across hybridLAB battery. I contacted Sabastian and he was able to come the next day, which was amazing because I could not be without a car. When he checked, he determined that it was not the hybrid battery that was causing the issue. It was the IPM and it just so happened that he helped another customer with the same problem. The other customer was able to find out that there was a class action lawsuit against Toyota regarding this issue. As part of the settlement, they would replace the IPM at no charge or provide a reimbursement check. Sabastian even had a picture of the customer's claim form that he was able to forward to me. When I offered to at least pay him for his time to come out and check my battery, he flat out refused. He was just happy to help. So, I called the number on the form and was able to arrange the replacement with my local Toyota dealership. There is a national shortage of replacement IPMs so it did take a few weeks for them to fix my car. But I'm so grateful that I randomly found Sabastian's company online because I would not have known about this lawsuit otherwise. And I would have probably spent a fortune fixing the car on my own!
