The hollandaise on their breakfast sandwich is now a broken, greasy mess. The "sourdough" is generic white bread. What's even worse than the food is the staff. In the last two years, the staff has degenerated to an incompetent , bedraggled mess. The staff has never had to wear a uniform, but perhaps it's time for them to institute one. In my last several visits, I've seen grossly oversized clothes that have the staff looking like they just rolled out of bed. Hair is unkempt, not brushed, loose, and hanging down past their shoulders. A recipe for getting hair in my food. Furthermore, the staff is no longer smiling or friendly and can't answer basic questions about the menu. They seem confused about where they are and the service they provide. On top of all this, they maintain their strict breakfast timeframe. Why they have decided to stick to antiquated time limits for the food that is always available in their kitchen is beyond me. We've also had ice cream at a couple parlors in Maine. Nothing has topped Almost Heaven, in my opinion. Favorite flavors are Beyond the Buckeye and Angel Tracks. Pictured is a large Beyond the Buckeye from over three years ago. I do think the large today isn't this large...but still well worth the price, no question. Do yourself a favor and make a visit!
