Had reservations at Sullivan's but didn't know they were closed due to a fire. They posted on their door that Eddie Merlot's is a fine steakhouse and is accepting Sullivan's gift cards. We figured we'd give it a shot. Service was great, Shyanna explained things to us. She didn't rush us, we had a lovely time. She suggested the filet pot stickers, which had a nice chile sauce on them. She also recommended the Brussels sprouts which were very good too. We had a ribeye and the New Orleans plate. Everything was cooked to perfection. The ribeye had more of a char on the outside, which I wasn't fond of, but the inside was a perfect medium rare. Oh the fresh warm bread was too good! Also the Caesar salad was the best I've had in a long time! Cocktails and wine were nice. We watched Shyanna prep bananas foster at the next table, we had the brownie which is also prepped table side and flamed! Nice music was playing, a good range of years. We had fun naming the songs and artists.

Our experience at Eddie Merlot's was so fun! They set us up with a table that allowed privacy and was great for a date night. The staff treated us with care and helped guide us through the menu. The shrimp appetizer was a surprising stand out, however the table side Banana Foster was the highlight of the show! It's a must get if you go.

Update on Eddie Merlots....We were invited back for Second chance and we went on Easter Sunday for their brunch and it was amazing. The carved filet with the Diane sauce was incredible. Raw oysters and Ahi Tuna ( yes please) they were great. The banana fosters was the bast I have ever had and I am a banana fosters connoisseur The manager that I spoke to originally was Madelyn and she was and has been so kind, helpful and accommodating . She constantly checked on us during brunch and made sure we were good. The GM Hal came to the table at the end to talk to us and he was so very kind and helpful. It was super busy today and I appreciate the time they took, the attitude and professionalism they maintained and the second chance they offered us because it was an amazing experience this time. Thank you Madelyn and Hal for making our Easter brunch a much better experience than the last time and we will be back

We went on labor day this year to celebrate my mom's birthday. Everyone seemed satisfied with their orders. We had steaks and seafood between a party of 5. Great service even though things were slow... They even gave my mom a carrotcake to-go.

This was our meal... left steak was the Wagyu filet, the middle item as the lobster mashed potatoes & the far right was the Wagyu ribeye.

Today was 16 yr anniversary so we came here to celebrate. We've been here many times but just this year we realized that you can buy 2 $50 digital gift cards for $80 so saving $20 but hey $20 bucks is $20 bucks. I had the Wagyu filet. It was soooooo amazing. Hubby got the Wagyu ribeye but it was too fatty, greasily & 2 sliver skin running thru so sent it back & ordered the Wagyu filet. Then we both shared the lobster mashed potatoes. It was soooooo delicious! We usually ordered the lobster Mac'n & cheese but this lobster mashed potatoes is a whole new flavor. Soooooo yummy!!! Then at the end, they gave us 2 free deserts so hubby ordered the turtle cheese cake & I got the desert merlot coffee. All of it was super delicious. Our bill was over $250 but it's well worth it!!!

We came here to celebrate our engagement, and it was just okay, nothing super special. Our server was a gem; she was super attentive, funny, and professional. There was practically no one there so we got waited on and seated very quickly. The appetizers were our favorite part. We got the beef dumplings and the corn and lobster bisque. The bisque was probably my favorite I've ever had. I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium, and it came out extremely rare. I had to send it back to get cooked longer, which I never like to do at restaurants. I do, though, highly recommend the mashed potatoes and mushrooms! Finally, we got the peanut butter cup dessert and it was phenomenal. TLDR: food was decent, service was good. I wasn't WOWed, however.

Easy to find on 96th Street East of Keystone Avenue.

It was an epic birthday celebration and Eddie Merlot's delivers after all these years. The Northside/Keystone area lost a few fine dining standards like The Keystone Grille and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, however Eddie Merlot's remains. Our food (and there was a lot of it, with a table of 6) was delicious. Usually Eddie Merlot's Indianapolis 96th St. location would earn a strong 5-star rating. This particular Saturday night in late September was extremely busy. There were several birthday celebrations. Our server was excellent and kept our host from getting antsy about the pace of the meal. The calamari came out in a timely manner. The main course--this time it took longer than their standard. Thankfully the main course was delicious; we were ravenous and our host was tired of bread, calamari and drinks. The manager came by several times. The birthday girl wanted Bananas Foster, a house favorite, prepared table side. Love Love Love the wine list here. (Even though Coopers Hawk, a wine-oriented restaurant is next door, order wine at Eddie Merlot's). Their list is extensive and there are some standouts not offered at every Northside steakhouse. One faux pas is not going to stop me from coming back and hopefully providing a 5-star review based on my next experience.

(Because I hate shopping for clothes.) But mostly, I visit when I'm at the Landmark to see a movie. I've visited this bar many times, and every time has been a pleasant experience. They have a full menu of cocktails -- sometimes even special cocktails that are themed with the movies that are playing. They also have a decent wine menu. They also have local beer available, and some snacks. The bar has a door that enters from the mall, but also a door that you can access from the theatre. There are lots of tables here, and it's never crowded. It's usually pretty quiet except for the sound of whatever is playing on the TV above the bar -- usually sports. All of the bartenders that I've encountered have been extremely efficient and friendly. They'll usually ask you what movie you're here to see, or how you're doing, which I don't usually care about but it's nice when they do it here.

We selected Doc B's and it was our first time here. Normally, we would be at one our favorite restaurants across the parking lot, Seasons 52. I'm so happy we tried Doc B's. It was absolutely amazing on every single facet of being a great eatery. The facility is inviting and fits a business casual lunch crowd and would also be most appropriate for a date night or special gathering. Friendly and prompt service starts at the hostess stand and just builds from that point. Our server, Sam (Samantha) was one of the most professional and attentive server we have experienced in some time. It takes a great management team to mold a staff to be exceptional. And to our surprise the General Manager, John served us our entrees at the table. But later checked in with us to evaluate our experience; which is unheard of these days. John and Samantha impressed us so very much, that Doc B's will now become a regular destination. Oh yes, I should comment on our food and cocktails. TOP NOTCH!! My wife had a carnitas sandwich with slow roasted pork, coleslaw, a pickle spear and thick onion ring with amazing barbecue sauce. It was served with the best tasting side I have ever put in my mouth. You must see what they do with a smashed baby Yukon potato with special breading and deep fried. I had the famous Wok Bowl with shrimp and lo mein noodles and sweet and spicy Thai sauce. It is packed with the freshest vegetables and sprinkled with cashews. I was blown away with the quantity of shrimp in that bowl. They do not skimp on the protein. I enjoyed this dish so very much and can truly say it isnt just a stir fry entree. Beautiful facility, friendly and attentive staff, management that truly cares about the customer and quality food coming from the kitchen that will not disappoint. For what it costs, it felt grossly overpriced and did not justify the hype. The bigger issue was the service. We waited about 10 minutes before a server came to the table, and then waited at least another 30 minutes for the food. I know the timing because we sat down right as the World Cup match started, and the food did not arrive until around the 35-minute mark. I understand restaurants get busy, but the combination of slow service, long wait times, and overpriced food made this a very disappointing visit. For the price point, I expected much better.

Some were quietly relaxing while others were catching up over drinks. The coffeehouse-meets-cocktail-bar aesthetic is well executed and gives the space a distinct personality. I ordered the nonalcoholic Basil Needs a Break, and it was excellent. If you like basil, this drink definitely delivers. It was bright, refreshing, and very basil-forward. The service was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was the temperature inside. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, but the bar felt warm with very little air circulation. It was almost refreshing to step back into the muggy heat after leaving, which probably isn't the feeling you're hoping to give your guests. I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd hope for a cooler temp next time.
