Sooo as one of the only couple authentic South Indian spots (if not the only one I know in Milwaukee), I fear this disappointed me greatly. Service wise we ended up waiting nearly 1.5 hour for our dishes, and we didn't even order appetizers. The food itself was pretty mediocre; it was presented well and I think I got a larger portion size for an order delay. I had ordered one dish, waited nearly 30 minutes and then had someone come back to tell me that they had to put in a different menu order because they didn't have all the ingredients for the one dish I originally ordered. They shared a couple complimentary samosas for the long delay. But when the food arrived, it lacked a depth of flavor although it looked so pretty. The paneer itself was well cooked while the rice was slightly undercooked. The naan was a bit cold, felt like it was reheated quickly and served. There weren't many pieces of chicken either. I could be additive to this place. Quite a few my Indian colleagues live near here. So if they chose to get a takeout from here, must to authentic enough for them. The way to fix my Indian carve is to have a dosa, an okra curry spicy and a goat biryani spicy. Super easy but not every Indian place has this combination. The owner was very friendly with my colleagues and always accommodated our requests. Food always came out as expected. Once of many good things here, one of them is they provide a bottle of water for everyone when you sit down. This is my go to spot for indian food! This time the tikka masala and tandoori chicken left more to be desired with their depth of flavor but with the parotta and goat curry, that really hit the spot!! The service has always been a bit slow, it takes a bit to get their attention to check in on you. The food was very fresh and good! Our waitress was wonderful and helped us with our choices. The garlic naan was outstanding and perfectly done. We had a lamb shank dish (don't know the name of it) that was outstanding. We also enjoyed the butter chicken and a Paneer Tikki stick appetizer that was so well seasoned. My first meal here has me in a dreamlike food-coma daze. This was my entire group's favorite Milwaukee Indian meal, and we've had many. We had: Nawabi Goat Dum Biryani Aloo Gobi Karaikudi curry (chicken) The Aloo Gobi has this amazing creaminess to it and was my favorite of the evening (the curry was a close second). The goat biryani was made to perfection. Both the Gobi and the curry flavors were extremely robust and complex in a way that's hard for this non-critic to describe, but it outclasses the other Milwaukee restaurant's work... which is saying something because Milwaukee is flush with good India options. We all got some cakes for dessert and they were light and fluffy and perfect. A great evening of food! read more

I was so excited to learn this new place had opened up recently in the area. And as a fan of biryani I couldn't wait to try it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is nothing fancy, an ordinary restaurant with Bollywood music videos and Indian art on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were a party of 7 and upon arriving I noticed there were a number of to-go orders and biryani in buckets. I didn't know this until arriving - but the buckets are to-go only but we learned this upon ordering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately there were flies flying around, which was annoying[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - and keep reading- another reason why I have to give fewer stars. One interesting thing about the restaurant is you'll get bottled water as water and they don't charge for the water. It made me instantly curious if they refill the bottles with tap water? I hope not - I would doubt it - but I know that this is something that can happen if one is in India - hence, that's where my thoughts went. We ended up ordering two kinds of biryani, one was Vijaywada and one Dum Biryani, naan, and two curries, one chicken, and one goat. However - we told them one person in our party had a nut allergy (peanut and tree nut) and we know how cashews and peanuts and other nuts can be a hidden ingredient in some Indian dishes. They ASSURED us there were no nuts. HOWEVER, when they brought the food in, there were NUTS, CASHEWS RIGHT ON TOP OF THE BIRYANI. This was not reassuring whatsoever. When we pointed this out, they apologized and offered to replace it with dum biryani, which they said has no nuts. Here's what I've learned when going to restaurants and explaining food allergies - some of them don't take it seriously and some of them don't understand them at all. They don't understand that the peanut and tree nut allergies are DEADLY - and some folks must carry EpiPens for them. So it is something to be taken seriously. Yet I find that on occasion when I have visited some restaurants (it happens often with Indian restaurants, but others as well), that they do not understand how serious it is. And this was the case - I had to explain the food allergies. Obviously, the message didn't make it to the kitchen somehow or it was ignored the first time. Which is a scary thing to me - and makes me reluctant to take a risk going there again. The young lady helping our table seemed to understand but I'm not sure if the "in charge folks" or kitchen cooks really understaood. But that aside, we became sick after eating here, with one person feeling sick for a week. We are 100% certain it was the food here. And so I cannot say I enjoyed the biryani, and the rest of the party did not either. The naan was tasty, the chicken curry was decent. But the biryani, the dish that some call the crown jewel, well, it left us sick. I wish I had reported it, because I wonder how many others became sick that day, too. Was it just us? Our food? And which dish? So, our trip to Hyderbad House for biryani didn't turn out to be the best experience for us. I hope things get better here because I really am a fan of good biryani. Hence, this experience is between 2 and 2.5 stars. A few things they need to work on here - and I hope that I can try it again one day. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We dropped by on a weekday evening and it was PACKED![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Appears to be very authentic given the guests.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were warned that the food spice level could be a bit high so we asked for less than mild on one of our dishes and even that was a bit of a kick for me (altho my spice tolerance isn't too high). We tried the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani which is apparently the dish they're known for and the Andhra goat curry. Both were so delicious but the portion size for the curry was definitely smaller while the biryani was massive. Would come again to try their other dishes! read more

We've only ever gotten takeout from here but decided to eat in. The food was delicious as usual. I got the Chana masala (chole curry they call it which came with a puffed bread I hadn't had before. It was good but I prefer butter naan (so we ordered that too). My husband got a savory pancake dish with 4 sauces and a special tiffen dish (chicken in a soup / sauce) with some fancy bread plus of course we got butter naan. (Yes, that means we had 3 breads, all good...can you have too many carbs?!) The only complaint was the tiffin dish was made with chicken with bones but the chicken pieces were cut as if they were bite size to fit in the bowl so it was hard to eat with so many bones. (It was still good and undoubtedly the bones added flavor just hard when you have a fork and spoon only). We were the only non-Indians in the place but the service was fast (honestly much much faster than it's ever been for takeout) and we plan to come back to eat inside again. Our kids love the Chana masala too. My husband usually gets the chicken tikka masala (which is great) but decided to be more adventurous this time. The menu could use some clarification - not all the dishes are explained but our waitress was helpful to select. Finally, be warned the main menu lists prices but the two other menus they had did not. While those dishes were good, not sure we would have ordered both if we knew the price ahead of time. read more

The menu is very confusing if you are not familiar with the cuisine and offers zero explanation as to what you are getting. A menu with some descriptions would be great for your clientele. The prices are VERY high, even for single portions. The restaurant does not offer any regular beverages in a glass with ice, electing instead to bring us each a bottle of room temperature water when we arrived. They also offered room temperature canned sodas. Our waitress told us that the curry came with either naan or rice, but after picking naan, we received both rice and naan and we were charged extra for both. After picking which meat we wanted in the curry, we were also charged extra for the meat. So is the $13.00 for the curry just for the sauce? My husband ordered goat curry, and was disappointed to find that the ratio of pieces of meat to pieces of bone was 1:1, so he got about four pieces of meat, and the rest of the lumps in the sauce were just bones. I ordered biryani, and my food came out a full twenty minutes after my husband's meal, meaning he had completely finished eating by the time my food arrived. This was disappointing and kind of embarrassing for us as diners, since we came to have a meal together. I would give this place a few months and try again, but they need to make some changes if they want to thrive in their current spot. Actual beverages and much better, attentive service would be a good start. read more

I have done go to orders a few times by now and I must say, the food taste absolutely delicious. I have mostly ordered biryanis. This last time, I ordered tandoori fish. It was fantastic. We ordered the bucket-sized Goat Dum Biryani for over $50. While it came with a lot of rice--enough for 3 to 4 people--it was mostly just that: rice. The flavor was average at best, and the goat pieces were so small and few, they were barely there. It felt like we paid for a bucket of flavored rice with a token amount of meat.
